@CuteCatFaith It must be very empowering to be able to live somewhere and not take government aid. I think thats a large part of the appeal of the prepping movement, whether here in the US or in Europe--being self-reliant and able to provide for yourself and your family even if times get bad without being dependent on the government. I know thats my ultimate goal. I'm only taking baby steps, but I am making progress, as I know many of the YouTube preppers are. One step at a time!

@AnnBearForFreedom My American friends and family seem horrified when I tell them there are no food stamps here in France. Welfare benefits or disability, no way to live on that. So most don't bother, and anyway, many consider that shameful. I have several friends in the USA and their only income is food stamps. Huh????
