@PolkCountyRedneck18 Powerstroke is [now] made in-house by Ford (originally was International); Cummins engine is not and never has been produced by Ford. Longest rumor alive. Just thought I'd clear that up.
your point being what is it the fact that you cant a ford a real truck or is it the fact that you like to ruin your truck by doing stupid pointless things like this
Pieces of shit sorry and duramax is wear it's at cummins is a great engine I just hate dodge trucks. Now if u put all Banks parts on a powerjoke their you go it's a great truck
The power joke is such a price of shit my family has three and they all have needed transmission replacements with in three months. We got a 99, 02, and an 08 all prices of shot
hey anyone with a cummins. just stfu you have to swap out your transmissions as often as you change your underwear. nly diesle better then the duramax is a 7.3l powerstroke turbo diesel.
@TheMoore14 not really, the 6 speed is a great piece of machinery. and usually after the first time the tranny goes, just get fully built one and never worry about a thing for a long time. everyone goes through trannys eventually
To all the people hatin on dmax's, who else has stuck with the same diesel motor for a century? Ovbiously they arn't junk if they keep making them. Cummins are amazing motors; probally better than dmax. But ford had the 7.3 that's it. Now they just like going through turbo's and head gaskets. if you don't like what you see then watch a different video. Don't tell this dude to get a prius. This truck is tits! Props!
cool truck, but it didnt spin the tires fast enough, took a second, hesitated and then remembered it was supposed to spin em. what gears you got in the axles? I still like ford and cummins better
@skungamungus how many has isuzu won, cause that whos makes duramax, unless your talking about the 6.2l diesel a.k.a. "350 with different heads" (made by Detroit) which i doubt you are cause the 6.2 couldnt beat a prius in a drag race
@OgiE2or5HunteR The 6.2L diesel was not a 350 with different heads it wasn't even made by GM but by AM General and Detroit Diesel. The 5.7L diesel was however loosely based on the 350 gas engine made by Oldsmobile. Though I say loosely because the 5.7 diesel had a thicker and heavier block with higher nickel alloy for the blocks and the heads. The 6.2 and later the 6.5 was used heavily within the military because they were cheap and extremely reliable.
@OgiE2or5HunteR Though they only managed between 165 HP and 215 HP with torque ranging from 240 LB. Ft. and 440 LB. FT., the seemed to work fine in the Hummer H1 and the HMMWV. As for the Duramax it's made by DMAX in Moraine, Ohio though originally a joint venture with Isuzu it's now totally owned by GM and has been since 1998. BTW DMAX used to be known as Detroit Diesel also bought by GM.
@roberts459 and isuzu wasnt just brought in to supervise they took a majorpart in the design of the engine, and in my eyes and many other diesel junkies i know that is an isuzu engine
@OgiE2or5HunteR Your right they weren't brought in to supervise they were brought in for money. GM contrary to popular belief is a world wide company. DMAX in the US builds the 6.6L, Isuzu builds the 1.7L I4 and the 3.0l V6 used in markets outside the US. As to the 6.2 & 6.5 sure they aren't powerhouses but they weren't designed to be. They were built in response to the oil crisis IE fuel economy. With diesel almost $4.00 a gallon I'd rather have 30 MPG's over rollin coal.
@roberts459 all the other engines you keep bringing up are irrelavent to what were talking about, and the average fuel economy of a 6.2 is around 20mpg, if you can find a 6.2 that gets 30mpg hold on to it cause that is a rare occurance, and my stock 7.3 OBS i average 19mpg and im willing to sacrafice 1mpg to have twice to power, my 7.3idi gets 21mpg but thats with 3.73 diff gears
@OgiE2or5HunteR If your talking the Pre-powerstroke International harvester even with a turbo it was only rated at 190 HP at 3000RPM and 388 LB FT of torque at 1400RPM's. That's not double the power of a 6.2 and whats even worse is you've got and extra 1.1 Liters of displacement and a turbo thrown on. My 2.8L I4 turbo diesel kicks out 188HP and 335 LB ft of torque.
@OgiE2or5HunteR So either you have a 7.3 IDI or a 7.3 Powerstroke which is it? The 1994.5 engines were direct injection engines vs. an indirect injection engine. If your comparing the powerstroke with a 6.2 it's not a direct comparison since the 6.2 like the 6.5 was an indirect injection engine.
@roberts459 i dont know how many times im gonna have to say it but its a powerstroke and its not a direct comparison cause it took chevy 6years longer than ford to figure out that direct injection is quite a bit better than idi, and i also own a 7.3 idi not to be confused with my powerstroke cause it seems like you have a little bit of trouble knowing the difference, and ive driven four or five 6.2 and they just dont have any pep even compared to a 7.3idi
@OgiE2or5HunteR I actually do know what I'm talking about since I have owned 6.2's 6.5's as well as the 7.3 idi and the powerstroke. As for Ford figuring things out sooner they didn't Navistar figured it out since ford didn't start making it's own engine until 2010. GM went with engines that provided "adequate" power with fuel economy in mind. Frankly if I want power I'd would skip both and get the Cummins since I prefer the inline engines.

@roberts459 i know that the6.2 is not a 350 with different heads its just a term that is widly use atleast were im from, and detroit designed the 6.2 which in my eyes makes it made by detroit even though bought out by gm its still the detroit design, and yes there cheap and reliable but son they are lacking in the power department big time
@DatGuyWhoDidDatTing good come back! does that make you feel better about your self? did you think of it sucking off your boyfriend in the front seat of his super pile of duty? jd power is opinion 'Joke", look at real world testing. they all do very well . youtube this " diesel power magazine king of the hill " .... youtube this ....." Uphill Chevrolet Silverado HD 3500 2500 Duramax vs Ford Superduty Scorpion Diesel Tow Comparison "....
@DatGuyWhoDidDatTing too bad its not? it makes more hp and torque than them both? the only thing with the cummins is it makes more hp at low rpm and powerstoke is garbage along with Ford
@BobLeeSwagger8264 What do you mean by makes? You're a fucking dumbass. And Ford makes Powerstroke engines. This is why you see more old Dodges and Fords driving around rather that a piece of shit Chevy. And there is a reason the "duranot" engines are only used in these sad excuses for a truck. All Fire-Engines are powered by a Cummins engine same with Mack trucks, and original race cars. Powerstrokes are used in Peterbuilt trucks and heavy machinery used in construction.
@DatGuyWhoDidDatTing it produces more horsepower and torque. YOUR a fucking dumbass i know Ford makes Powerstroke and i see way more Chevys and at least with a Dodge im not changing the tranny more than i change my underwear. and they get used in all of that because Cummins are cheaper and come bigger than the 6.6L..You get what you pay for i guess...plus the Duramax's are paired with the allison which are no doubt the best tranny
@BobLeeSwagger8264 Ok first when you learn how to use proper grammar then I can start understanding you. And secondly the reason why a Cummins is used in so many vehicles is because of the reliability and dependability. I have a 2006 Ram 2500 Big Horn that has over 250,000 miles on it. I have only needed to replace the clutch once and that was at 160,000 miles. Not to mention a Duranot engine costs less than either a Cummins engine or a Powerstroke.
@DatGuyWhoDidDatTing i dont know why we are arguing i like cummins and duramax equally but i go with Chevy because of the Allison. And duramax is owned by GM so they only supply for their trucks where as Cummins is a separate company and they can supply for the other vehicles. And the Duramax is equaly dependable if not more dependable there junior
@BobLeeSwagger8264 True I forgot why we even argued in the first place. But I personally like Cummins mainly because of their use in the vehicles I mentioned as well as the military Humvee's. But if you like a Duramax then that's your opinion and I won't hold it against you.
the only thing there is to choke on is your dounut tires.......... put them back on your prius and take your dirtymax home and let the big boys play **cough** powerstrokes and cummins **cough**
haha its funny because you made fun of powerstroke by saying powereCHOKE thats really funny haha, but it doesnt make sense at the same time. fords are nice
i work at an oil feild company and all we got is ford, the f550s wont stay running, bending valves at 50K,,, blowing up at 80, but fords supposed to be the best truck ever built on the road ever.? I dont see it? i got 3 chevys love em all. TObe
my buddies 7.3 powerstroke will eat that durashit alive lol jk nice truck bro im more of ford guy but there are some duramaxs out there that i wouldnt mind driven and yours is one
lol my truck would eat your durashit ass truck i drive a ford and i yank them all day son just cause you got a lifted truck with a tuned engine dont mean shit (;
My 6.0 powerjoke can do that without having to power brake it.. And it is sitting on 38s.. .. Also your stacks look gay.. Not just on your truck but all pickup trucks .. Stacks are for simi's
Duramax MAY be a good motor, but the GM chassis are junk. We run 2 at work along side 3 Dodges and 5 Fords. They are all 1ton dually tool trucks w/4x4. Fords are in for most motor repairs, Dodge for the trannys, but the GM's are constantly in for the front ends. The Independent fronts on the GM trucks are smooth on the highways, but can't last 6 months with the heavy loads and off-roadin' we do on a daily basis (in field farm machinery repair). The solid axle Fords/Dodges last much longer...
@wonmanonedur7 that beast looks badass! im more of a ford person myself, but last year one of our work trucks got totaled in a crash and the insurance paid for a rental which turned out to be a 08 1/2 ton silverado, totally changed my mind on chevys i loved it!
@strumem90 I agree with you about the front end I own a Duramax and use it for the lighter work I do and I use my 96 Chevy 3500 straight axle with a Cummins swap for the majority of my work
@strumem90 ...This guy is right! Let me lay the law down. If you want a 1/2 ton nothing beats the small block Chevy! The 3/4 tons you can go either Ford or Dodge, but for a one ton Ford is the only choice!
@jerseypaul2007...The best truck Ford ever built is my 2000 F350 Lariat 4x4 supercab with the camper special package. It has the 7.3 with the forged rods, a Dana 60 front, 10.5" Sterling rear, leaf springs, and is running 35" tires with no lift and a lot of room left!
@strumem90 Not true for the new 5 speed and 6 speed autos in the Dodges, can't kill these two transmissions. Most yards don't get calls for them. The reason why the dodge transmissions go out is wrong person rebuilding them.Rebuild them right the first time, will last time including using ATF+4 fluid only
@HUFFDADDY2 wanna know the funny thing? for ages dodge an ford have been messin around with their motors like fords 7.3, 6.0, the new 6.7 an dodges 5.9, 6.7 but chevy has had the same deisel engine for runnin on 12 years now, the tried an tested 6.6... and the same transmissions... and STILL dodge and ford are trying to keep up with chevy, granted they may have beat chevy a few times, but then the next year chevy steps it up again while ford and dodge try to keep up...
Actually, the duramax is faster stock than all the powerchokes and cummins. So go take yalls lil fords and go back home. Dodges are good, Fords yall bitch and whin to much.
@DMAXWAYTOGO really how did u conclude this duramax was made to be a efficent quite engine durashits are shit when will chevy lovers just face it ur company makes shit trucks...
Statistics show chevy has the worst diesel in production. All chevys are garbage I can say this cuz I've owned them and you're gay little burnout wasnt shit I can do that in my 97 jeep cherokee
Real trucks don't have IFS...case closed.

C'mon now lets face it, everybody has a favorite, but the credit for a solid truck goes to the builder, not the manufacturer.

turbosaleen347 1 month ago
if i ever need a tampon,i'll buy a duramax.
dylan4007 1 month ago
Duramax MAY be a good motor, but the GM chassis are junk. We run 2 at work along side 3 Dodges and 5 Fords. They are all 1ton dually tool trucks w/4x4. Fords are in for most motor repairs, Dodge for the trannys, but the GM's are constantly in for the front ends. The Independent fronts on the GM trucks are smooth on the highways, but can't last 6 months with the heavy loads and off-roadin' we do on a daily basis (in field farm machinery repair). The solid axle Fords/Dodges last much longer...
strumem90 1 month ago 22
@strumem90 i agree about the front ends. that's why we typically straight axle them with older ford axles. YES I SAID FORD ALL YOU HATERS lol.

@wonmanonedur7 that beast looks badass! im more of a ford person myself, but last year one of our work trucks got totaled in a crash and the insurance paid for a rental which turned out to be a 08 1/2 ton silverado, totally changed my mind on chevys i loved it!

TheChevy496 2 weeks ago
pretty sad when you have to power brake lmao
dewittbrandon07 2 weeks ago
@strumem90 I agree with you about the front end I own a Duramax and use it for the lighter work I do and I use my 96 Chevy 3500 straight axle with a Cummins swap for the majority of my work
Foxrider67Dawson 1 month ago
@strumem90 Id rather be in the shop for tie rods than transmission... MORE less the engine... tie rod sleeves= best fucking truck around, cheers
Duramost 1 month ago
@strumem90 i agree but dodge always used cheap parts and had alighment issuse so ya id add front end on dodge
wtl1964 1 month ago
@strumem90 thats why you buy a chevy and throw a ford or dodge front end under it
Chevyracing275 3 weeks ago
@strumem90 ...This guy is right! Let me lay the law down. If you want a 1/2 ton nothing beats the small block Chevy! The 3/4 tons you can go either Ford or Dodge, but for a one ton Ford is the only choice!
jerseypaul2007 3 weeks ago
@jerseypaul2007...The best truck Ford ever built is my 2000 F350 Lariat 4x4 supercab with the camper special package. It has the 7.3 with the forged rods, a Dana 60 front, 10.5" Sterling rear, leaf springs, and is running 35" tires with no lift and a lot of room left!
jerseypaul2007 3 weeks ago
@strumem90 Not true for the new 5 speed and 6 speed autos in the Dodges, can't kill these two transmissions. Most yards don't get calls for them. The reason why the dodge transmissions go out is wrong person rebuilding them.Rebuild them right the first time, will last time including using ATF+4 fluid only

The Duramax is the worst diesel engine made. Both the power stroke and the cummins make it look like a bitch.

FastDriver420 1 month ago
@HUFFDADDY2 wanna know the funny thing? for ages dodge an ford have been messin around with their motors like fords 7.3, 6.0, the new 6.7 an dodges 5.9, 6.7 but chevy has had the same deisel engine for runnin on 12 years now, the tried an tested 6.6... and the same transmissions... and STILL dodge and ford are trying to keep up with chevy, granted they may have beat chevy a few times, but then the next year chevy steps it up again while ford and dodge try to keep up...
babyimsuperman 1 month ago
@HUFFDADDY2 what im tryin to say is the 6.6 has stood the test of time, while the other motors are playin catch up.
babyimsuperman 1 month ago
izuzu made the engine desighn and the engines are manufactured in ohio japanese make really good engines nice truck by the way
IMEGADETH454I 1 month ago
Actually, the duramax is faster stock than all the powerchokes and cummins. So go take yalls lil fords and go back home. Dodges are good, Fords yall bitch and whin to much.
