@MegaYoshitsune i met him and chatted with him for a while in the late 90s. he put me on the guest list, and i got to play for him afterwards and he flashed a look of 'who's THIS guy?' at the rest of his band, who later clamored for my phone number!. he was really nice, he didn't have to let me into his show for free! i just got the sense from him that he loved music, no egotism present, may he RIP!

I think of the times I didn't get to see him in Memphis as I should have. I missed alot, though I did get to see him once in Germantown, TN at a small place called Dundee's. I sat a mere 15 feet away as he played with a cover band and played songs like , "All Along the Watchtower" (awesome). He was incredible and a nice guy to talk to between sets.

I had also seen him at age 14, win a battle of the bands at Overton Park Shell with his high school band, Savage. The beginning...

Hate to say it but the sounds of his solos remind me of the endless flurry of notes that KENNY G produces with his SAX.

@Morenumbers123456789 I don't think the lick has to do with the circle of fifths persay, but instead a PATTERN of 5's. Instead of descending with 2 notes per string in groupings of 6, he is descending in groupings of 5. But remember he is returning to the previous string once the grouping is done. So it would be like E B G(6) B G D(6) G D A(6) D A E(6). but in the case of 5's its just eliminating the last note of the group and instead returning to the previous string. Its a weird feel
