Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!—at long last. After trawling through thousands of idiots' 'instructional' videos that try and fail miserably to demonstrate this jazz improvisation concept of using the guide/colour tones, at last this guitarist; Jeff Richmond demonstrates clearly and unambiguously what it's all about—Thanks once again Jeff. I was getting fed up with the other 'lessons' - What rubbish they are...
tell me if i'm wrong or write its a method i learned.. the Fm can be soloed over with a Ebmaj7 scale, Bbm=Abmaj7, Bb7= Emaj7. Dbmaj7=Db scale, G7= Cmaj7, C= Cmaj7
Hello sir is there any theory why u r going from a flat to c or it is just random scale merge n if u r changing key which chord should be the last for the first key n which chord should be first in second key just a thumb rule. Sorry but ur lesson is amazing n helpful. Thank u n god bless
Wow that's the jazz standard All the Things You Are. Never realized that before about that tune, just the third of each chord. I wonder if that's how Jerome Kern came up with it.
as a matter of fact, if you play the fly me to the moon melody over those chords, it fits right in. i found that after trying to solo over it the first time
Great video, very informative!

This guy is brilliant really. He makes it seem so easy. The concept of course is simple but putting it to practice is something else altogether.

I like the sound of the melody more than the solo at the end. Im a simple kinda guy though
