Brudy i plamy!
this clip is from ' billy thorpes tv show" ita all happening.....the dancer is ross coleman...sadly no longer with us! jimmy taylor(aztecs)playing piano... 1966...atn 7.......
thnx so much for posting this rare glimpse into the early bee gees! they struggled so hard in australia in those early days to get the public to love their music - i am so glad they never gave up because they have given the world such a treasure of wonderful music that will live 4ever! Barry has been writing songs since he was about 10 years old, and he has done a pretty damn good job, don't you think??? austvarchive - you rock!!! kc
wow do you have any easybeats footage that isn't out there? Anything aside from the coke special and bandstand? Would be great to see other things. I know they must exist.
such a great tune! it should've been a bigger hit in the USA; not sure if it ever was a hit in America; but when I first heard it on a nite-time radio show about the BGs, i felt like I always knew & loved this song from somewhere. Some songs are like that- they become a part of you, esp. the great ones.
Same as what Sallie6 said! I spend probably way too much time watching old music clips on youtube and wishing I was around then, but I love it and I'm so glad wonderful people like you exist and share these with the rest of us. Thank you so very much.
A huge Thank you! I can watch this over and over and never tire. everything about this clip is so special! love their Mod "look" this sweet 1st hit song and my God I can see younger brother Andy's face in Barry- amazing. Very clear footage of these lovely brothers. Hats off too you! xxx
without beautiful people like you having the interest & the expertise knowledge that you have with the preservation of the only known footage in existence of many of your uploads says a lot & you have to be commended for all the FREE time you give in keeping these memories alive...you make such a huge contribution & most definitely deserve more recognition!
Holland was the FIRST country that DIGGED this song and it became a huge # 1 hit. They came to Holland, I saw them 'LIVE' in 1969 (my ex-hubby's band The Motions played as their 'Support Act '... ) and they became as popular as ever around the whole world. Robin and Maurice RIP...
@marmont48 PARDON? Holland? This song was first released in Australia just as the Bee Gees were leaving for England in 1966. It became their first No.1 hit in Australia - and anywhere else in the world. So Australia was definitely the first country that "DIGGED" this song!!! Defnitely not Holland!
magnificent! it must be amazing if we were in thier era. the dancers and the singer are properly dressed. comparing to the situation now, well just watch any concert or rock group performing on stage, ones will notice the dancers especially the girls will only wearing underwear and bikini or the singer will put the ring on the nose, not an appropriate place to put the ring, but they will call its, it is a trend. who could blame them?
@Ngelingkong agreed, I hate the way girls look today, I believe a lady can be beautiful and leave a little to the imagination and not dress tarty. JMO :)
I have this on my Toolbar, can't get enough. It's took me over 40 yrs. to get this. Seen it in Germany in 1970 on BEATCLUB, the only other time to see them play this song & there 1st. #1 in England. Thanks man!!!!!!!
This is my favourite Bee Gees song and I think this clip is great. I don't remember hearing the song rill the mid 70s but i loved it then and still love it.
That copyright infringement issue leaves me cold.... What you are effectively doing is maintaining the interest in historical media..... What is the copyright holder doing to support the media?... nothing.. It is a grey area.... I have several of these flags on my channel, but when I challenged the issue... I got no feedback at all... so, they will stay on my channel... we do this for no monetary gain, so what is the problem? - Cheers
Thanks very much for uploading this video. I was waiting to see this video in total length since I saw a small part in the original clip. This is really gret. Don't know what you did to make this possible, but thank you very well. Australian TV Archives should make ol ols stuff from the Bee Gees available I think. There is a lot, also here on You Tube and after some restauration work the should be able to release a nice video compilation world wide. Wim
@bluecatlevy I guess it couldn't really have been anybody else (silly me)! The only decent close-up of him is at 2:20 - 2:23 and I can see it's him, now. Groovilicious! Good work, lads :-)
WOW!! Been waiting to see this forEVER! Thanks so much-- I'm a Robin fan but they are all soooooo cute here. Talent extraordinaire! LOVE those Bee Gees!!
Great stuff.Thank you for your efforts. It is an important peice of history so i hope copyright is not an issue as it was recorded well before these greedy money grabbing music companies were so greedy
This song would be my first choice to do if I ever go to a mexican bar.

i've decided Barry, circa 1965, is the love of my life. Given that I turned 19 today this is a bit of an issue.
