Or, you might be seeing just after the boot screen disappears something like "This drive must be checked for integrity Press any key to stop this 3, 2, 1, 0 starting scan 1%" if so its because of a usb storage device plugged in with corrupt files.

i turned on my comp. then went to get somethin to eat, and when i came back, the blue screen was up, and somethin about, if i wanted to skip the update, press a button in 5.4. etc. so i jumped to my chair,missed and fell on the floor, and the update began. :'( i was so close. it took it like 30-an hour. :p
