I am wondering if those things with springs really are limiters/restrictors, or things that encourage the air to go through at one go, once it is powerful enough to open the spring, rather than gradually.

I can see that removing the central post would help reduce friction, but also presumably accuracy.

The most worrying thing is, there are so few people reporting an increase in range and so many more breaking their guns.

How about just giving it bigger springs?

@timtak1 You obviously don't understand how the restructure work then, okay I'll make this nice and easy. When the bullet is put in to the barrel those 3 three pronged things get pushed down compressing he tiny spring, when air is pushed into this barrel it goes around the three pronged piece until j bullet no longer holding down the pronged peiec an the springthis then cuts offthe supply of air, hence the name air "RESTRICTOR"

@timtak1 as for the stronger springs in the gun then yes that helps but also the removal of the air restrictors. As for the longer range to breaking the gun ratio, this happens because not all people are careful/no what the fuck theyre doing. I hope this helps clear up the confusion

The designers were not trying to reduce the power of the gun or estrict airflow- the attenuator was designed to reduce noise by reducing air flow when the bullet is on its way out of the barrel, and particularly when there is no bullet in the chamber. If you drill out the baffles (with the prongs) a little larger and replace them, you will get a power increase but still retain some noise reduction. A stronger firing spring on the pump will also increase power.

This is a good video and all, but I have a few questions, after removing the orange stem-like pieces from the orange discs, do the darts have any problems staying in the gun when you point it down? Also, how highly do you recommend the hot glue? I can try it, but knowing me I'd screw that part up, would leaving the discs by themselves without glue work decently enough? About how much distance would you estimate you gained from this mod?

The only gun ive ever internally modded was a Nite Finder, and that was just an air restrictor mod. It was very much like this mod, because apparently most Nerf pistols have almost the same insides, so this is gonna be pretty easy.

DONT cut out a hole on the air restrictors, that ruins it. just cut off the top. if u cut a hole, there is not enough pressure to force out the nerf bullet.

I did this mod and when removing the peice to get at the inside of the barrel i bent a metal peice inside because it wouldn't come off. The gun WILL NOT shoot straight anymore and am having to do some MAJOR mods to fix it.

hmmm, one of my favorite guns is a nerf nitefinder. if u dont know what that google it. it has a lazer on the front when u pull the triger slightly the lazer turns on, they are realtively cheap, and get pretty good range straight out of the box. hope this helps, and have fun! if u need any more suggestions feel free to leave me a message
