I think it's ironic that two-million years ago we evolved from indigenous, tree climbing bafoons to creatures with long legs and feet engineered for endurance so we could hunt for meat, yet there are vegetarian runners. That's contradictory.
@SamShackleford1 Sam, as I am sure you know, evolution doesn't move toward anything specific like, "long legs and feet...so we could hunt for meat" but rather toward a set of characteristics and behaviors which enhance survivability within a specific environment. Our hominid ancestors evolved long legs and feet and endurance to better exploit the food resources of novel environments and to get away from faster predators. For most of our history we were the hunted, not the hunters.
Wow! This vid was awesome. I love going barefoot myself and never knew it was good for me! I think your homemade shoes are super cool and I would love to know where you got the materials :)
Thanks
PS If I cant make them I will take your offer to make them for me lol

@snower5554 Presumably, the child in the video was his so I doubt he's gay. I don't know whether your comment was serious, nasty or you actually believe that. I suspect you don't really believe it.
You are so right. We all find different things enjoyable. I find barefooting challenging and fun. It doesn't interest you. That's cool. Thanks for you thoughtful comments.
although i don't devote my whole life to health and wellness, besides for a car accident and when i was going to enlist in the marines i have not been to a doctor for a long time. i ended up being disqualified after finding out i had never outgrown a heart click which i was born with. i find myself to be in decent shape not like i was in wrestling and football but i still enjoy life to the fullest and have fun. i geuss it all depends on the person. i respect your opinions and facts,
i guess it depends on the person but i dont find much interest devoting my entire life to health, i personaly could'nt enjoy or have fun through life living like that all the time i do try to eat healthy and i do like a nice steak, i get a decent amount of exercise while scouting and hunting. i just find it strange to devote all youre spare time and energy to devoting it to health. Just doesnt seem ejoyable to me
With vibrant health I get to enjoy everything about life to the fullest. Try being sick and out-of-shape and see how enjoyable life is. I am devoted to vibrant health because I am devoted to living joyfully. They are one and the same. Since a "nice steak" diminishes my health over the long run and since I don't enjoy killing, I forgo flesh.
Thank you. You're(notice I used the proper "you're" meaning "you are", versus you who used "your" meaning "belongs to you" as in "here is your hat") very kind to watch my video and comment on it. Anyone calling themselves "hunterexteme07" is sure to know a wackjob when they see one. Feet are the foundation of our body. Wrap your feet in shoes and they get weak, undermining overall health. What is so wacky about that? Do you mean the vegan thing? I agree. Being vibrantly healthy is wacky.
It is quite enjoyable to watch your vids and being an aspiring vegan nice to hear some rational thinking. ..........being a Dad, it is wonderful to see a child taking an interest in his fathers interest even if they are fleeting.

pretty nice, but my job requires closed shoes at my job, which is a good thing because I work in a hospital, but i would say get some moccasins, you may like those, native americans wore them for years.
......You know, raw vegetables are still alive.??Why dont you Switch the Tofu with a block of Lard...You wouldn't be this way if you ate more MEAT!! And my Favorite Bumper sticker is... Wear a shrunken human head around your neck with the label....... "Think Vegan"
Very nice! These would allow me to continue barefoot running even into the coldest months in Ontario with possibly the 'fingered' socks, as long as the snow is not too deep, and give me better grip at that! Wonderful idea you have posted. Your helper Max agrees!
Yeah, with some warm socks you could run in these for a while during the winter. Here where I am it doesn't snow often but instead rains a lot. I plan to wear them as much as I can this winter. If you give it a try let me know how it turns out.
Thanks Derrick. I will be doing this, and may get a pair of these from you, I am sure I could make a pair for myself though. I figure as you do, the cords/soles will last, as you are not twisting your feet. Seriously considering a pair of Vibram Five-Fingers as well, the 'Sprint' models, if I could find a pair in black! Thanks for the support, will keep you filled in on progress, and you can see some of my running movies on my channel too, just look up 'Barefoot Running on my channel!

Enjoyed your video. Just a guess but if you glued a second layer of that rubber material below the first layer you're protecting the rope from wear.
I wear vibram VFFs when running but I have huarches I made from a tire.

Those sandals remind me of what people wore in the roman empire. Very cool.
I'm gonna start running barefoot. We aren't having much of a summer here in Ontario, so I guess I won't have to worry about burning my soles :)

Hmm, dont think those would be very good in the snow and ice that is due here in a few months, LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I don't think so either. Maybe with some thick neoprene socks.
