I think he means they're mounted closer to the actual engine. In other words, the length of the exhaust pipe between the engine and turbocharger is shorter than on most turbo cars.

it's amazing how ppl take a huge piss of something they don't know about. they won't cover the tranny ONLY if related component is damaged during VDC off. that means unless you use launch control 10 times a day like a wanker, you wouldn't break anything at all. I will be amazed if Porsche, ferrari or lambo will cover a blown transmission that had been tortured and abused by a jerk. So take it back and shove it up your ass and do some research next time before you take a piss

They bragged about that feature for months, played it up, blathered on about how that feature made it a match for the ZR1...bullshit. Even with that, it still isn't as fast as the ZR1, AND they fucked over a bunch of people by hiding that shit in the fine fucking print.

BTW, dick, I'm running about 60hp over stock in my Buick, with a basically stock trans. I could run at 200hp over stock without any alterations. If Nissan can't design a trans to hold the STOCK POWER of their cars, that's pretty pitiful. Meanwhile, just down the street from my apartment, there's a dyno place tuning a C6 ZO6 that has already broken the C6 world record three times, and is going for more. Trans is stock except for the clutch.

Salesmen r NOT nissan employee, they can brag on whtever they like to sell any product. 0-60 is not a match but 0.3 sec diff is close enough. Even if it doesn't, u r still very childish to use that as reference and compare their performance when one has got 160 more HP...

That C6 w/ a modded clutch is already not a valid point as the clutch is the thing you most likely fry. Haven't u heard Henessy tune the GTR to 700 w/out trans mod? even if not, all the cars u mentioned r single clutches, if u lanuch start too much like a jerk or can't shift properly u still fry it with stock pwr. double clutch in the GTR is much more complex just like any other cars (VW BMW porsche) Can you name a car w/ double clutch that can b mod w/ excess pwr?

Excuse me? NISSAN made that comparison, not me. They're the ones who made the big deal about that lap around the Nurburgring(which it later turned out they cheated on by using non-stock tires), they're the ones who called it a ZR1 killer, NOT ME.

BTW, I don't give a SHIT about the mechanics of the Nissan trans. They designed in, and advertised, a feature that destroys that trans. Take a ZR1, or a ZO6, (or for that matter pretty much any car) to a dragstrip, and you will drive it home at the end of the day, time after time. Take a GT-R, good chance you end up walking home at the end of the first trip.

Nissan built a car with a self-destruct button, yay for innovation!

1st I hav 2 say I am R34 fan, but I'm not 100% JDM fanboy as I do also luv F430 vette nd muscle cars. I think we started w/ 2 much accusation at the start btw we sounded. As soon GTR was launch I already h8 the fact it dropped the skyline name and has no skyline charisma. So I don't c it as Skyline. I don't prefer it than R34. But I think it deserves respect from Engineering pov, coz i'm an Engineering uni student. nd I can't stand the way ppl say the trans will xplode as soon as ur on track...

Porsche lap GTR slowr than turbo. but Bruno Sena(GP2 driver)lap GTR quicker than turbo in 5th gear show. If they had stuck to the engineering POV, the LC wouldn't have been included. You're right, the car was never intended to be a drag racer. But they included the LC to pander to the ricers, and it turned out to put too much stress on the trans. Instead of removing the LC feature, they just wrote it out of the warranty while still bragging about how incredible it was. If an American car company did that, they'd be CRUCIFIED.

The rest of the car is brilliant, I have no problem saying that. But the way that Nissan screwed people over with the warranty is the far larger issue. That kind of disservice to the customer is inexcusable. It's a halo car, same as the ZO6, ZR1, Viper, Ford GT, etc. It's the car that represents the best that the brand can do. That means the best engineering, the best fit and finish, AND the best customer care.
