I feel like the problem is everybody's just too opinionated. If they don't agree with something in hip hop they're quick to complain. My fav. rapper will always be "Pac, but I'm open minded to all hip hop, theres no rule book that says "You have to be lyrical" & there's people who like this music as much as I like "Pac's music. We want everybody to see it our way & that's not how it works. Some people feel like Nas is garbage. It's all just opinions. It's all just opinions.

I understand that he's doing him, but all forms of music have standards. There IS a damn line in hip hop that when crossed ceases to be good hip hop whether you acknowledge it or not. We have to stop being afraid of saying that. Black folks are always accepting the status quo in order to not be seen as a hater, but i categorically reject that ethos. If the beats aint hard, the rhymes lack concept and focus, and the rapper has no flow, then its wack....period. I refuse to equivocate.

You might like Kobe, I might like Lebron, you might like Lacs, I might like Chevys. When I say Wayne's whack, then he goes to a show & there's 500,000 screeming fans to prove me wrong.

I don't buy that. There is good and there is wack. Toyota is a damn good automobile no matter how many people say it isn't because the stats dont lie. Ditto Honda or BMW. You can't equivocate when comparing a Cobalt and a Corolla because it's clear from the outset what the superior car is. And even if they sell twice the number of Cobalts, it still wouldnt change the fact that the Corolla is a better vehicle.

You're right, your opinion doesn't matter to the industry, but the industry doesn't matter to me either. Neither does record sales. Vanilla Ice moved 10 million units. Rap fans are overwhelmingly dumber than the average music listener from jump street, so their opinions mean nothing to me. Little Brother will never outsell D4L, nor will 9th Wonder produce records as popular as Swizz Beats produces, yet you'd have to be outta your damn mind to think that Swizz is anywhere near 9th's level!!

Whatever you don't like, you should ignore. I've never heard of Little Brother or 9th Wonder. Record sells wont matter to you if you're not in the industry, but does determine what fans want. We'll never see it the same, we're 2 different people with different views. None of our opinion is right or wrong, we just feel strong about 'em.

Seriously, Little Brother is not only a Southern Group (North Carolina), but one of the rappers, Phonte, is generally regarded as the best lyricist in the south. They are 4 LP's deep in the game. And 9th Wonder? C'mon, be serious! 9th Wonder is not only the top producer in the South but one of the best on earth! He's well known and respected!

Yes I am a real hip hop head. They might be legendary in some places, but if I walk outside of my house right now & ask anybody about 9th Wonder or Little Brother, they'll say "Who is that". In my area, our legends are like UGK, Outkast, Master P, Mystikal, Geto Boys, Vicious, ESG, etc. I'm pretty sure you never heard of some of them. Your favs. or your hip hop is not the same as everyone else's.
