your slide has a bump on it to make it easier to chamber the first round. Mine doesn't have that and after a days use can become pretty hard to pull back with gunpowder raw hands. I was thinking of taking into a machine shop and having them tap both sides so I could add a riser screw. I wonder if that slide fits on my buckmark. I also wasn't able to find an integrated rail with weaver, only picatinny. A lot of scopes say they take weaver, but some fit both. Is there a rule regarding rails?
lol by UK legal pistol you mean to say that it is a UK legal rifle lol, nice loophole gun good sir, and actually were it not for the stock id be sooo down to have a buckmark with a barrel that long
i couldnt do a red dot on a handgun. on rare exceptions a rifle, but never a handgun, to the slightest movement and the red dot moves to the other side of the scope.
They didn't actually ban pistols here - they banned firearms shorter than 24" or 600mm. To be legal, the "pistol" in the vid will have at least a 12" barrel, and a counterweight or wrist brace coming off the back to bring the length up to spec.
I bought a flat black URX Buckmark last November. I have been very impressed with this gun. Anybody thinking about buying this pistol. BUY IT !! You'll be glad you did. It is the BEST !!!
Hi, they're just slip on rubber grips for Glock -make sure you get the smaller type that grips well, or get one slip on for small pistols and then put a glock slip on grip over it....works great.
Peolpe in the UK can own any gun that you have in America it just that anything over a .22LR calibre has to be a straight pull meaning you havr to pull the bolt back after each shot and all pistols must ahve a barrel lenght of over 12 Inches which kinda sucks.
Any advice on how to get a gun in Britain, i've always been a keen air rifle shooter and gone shooting with shotguns a few times and i'm quite interested in moving up. Any helpful videos articles etc?
Hi, best thing is to contact any shooting club and they can talk you through the process of getting your FAC. Sorry I can't go into detail on that now as I'm in a hurry. (If you're close to London contact Cheshunt Rifle and Pistol club....great bunch of people and they run the PSG (practical shotgun) shoot once a month which is the most fun discipline in UK shooting sports).
I live in Wales, so London is quite far away, but there is a shooting range quite locally i think i will get a bit of cash and check them out. Thanks for the help.
@lexmark136 Yeah, i've sucessfully got a shotgun certificate now and a farmer has given me a nice bit of land to shoot on :) But yeah, pistols are just a no go, and most rifles.
Can you give us any tips on an easy way to get the slide assembly (especially firng unit in the slide) out of the gun without frustration? This is the only hassle with a Buckmark. I love the gun but this can be a bitch.
This isn't a target pistol per say, it's a section 1 Long barrel pistol, also known according to the UK law as a rifled gun, with the correct barrel length and arm brace to bring it up to the legal specifications. It really is a rifle according to UK legislation. It is a Alan Westlake LBP conversion.
THat's right, I forgot about the barrel length issue. We sued to get a british gun magazine her in the U.S. and very long barreled Italian revolvers were being marketed in the UK. Another thing I saw was an Armalite M-15A2 (AR-15 in Armalite-speak) that was non-auto. The charging handle chambered every round and was to be used like the bolt on a bolt-action rifle. I guess the gas-tube was just removed. This gun magazine went out of business in the 1990s but was a fun read.
No pun intended from the lead country in lawsuits filed. I happen to own a Buckmark field and really like it but would not reccomend it for a beginner due to it's takedown and small parts issues.
If I remember rightluy, unfortunately they're not quite rifles in UK law as they are not fired from the shoulder - this is why gun clubs can't rent/lend them out. They are not, however, prohibited weapons and thus can be had on a section 1 certificate just like a rifle. There's a long-barreled revolver being imported that has a wire stock so that it nominally designed to be fired from the shoulder, but can easily be fired without shoulder support - this can be rented or borrowed from gun clubs.
i shoot this gun at a range every week and im almost an NRA distinguished expert and i have used this gun thw whole time. i shoot great with this gun.
