I never got back to you about how GOOD this meal was. Let me tell you sir, I have made this EXACT recipe twice now since my last post. It is absolutely amazing, and you were spot on with your direction. It turned out great. It is a new family meal. Keep them coming.
Learning about cooking lamb shanks. I passed up three previous videos of very reputable chefs (mostly food shows), recipes were too over my head. Anyways, I stopped here and stayed! You killed it with the mash potatoes and reduced gravy. I am now sold and I will be making this tonight. Got huge lamb shanks on sale and needed to know how to make them. I know this will be good! Excellent! Please keep on cooking :) I will post back when I make them and let you know how they turned out.
you're not just a good cook, you're a naturally talented good cook -- although that talent must have come from somewhere/someone. will make this tonight for my mom, my biggest source of inspiration, talent, and taste in great food!
You inspired me to try and cook something that is completely out of my comfort zone im gonna try it with beef shanks i was just wondering what kind of pot is it you have is it like one of those you can get at smart and final i always see they use dutch ovens to make that kind of stuff wich is another reason ive never attempted to try making something like that .
Im new to cooking and just trying to equip my pathetic kitchen
thats if 2 frying pans and a pot is concidered a kitchen lol
this is so good but with out the wine there will not be a problem ?? and um big lamp fan :) .. when u hit the monitor by accident i felt that i was hit in the back of my head :P:D
I love goats/lambs/sheep, for a while I couldn't eat any of those meats because I liked the animal too much. I still like them and plan to have one as a pet one day, but I do like the meat now too. I hope you enjoyed Alfalfa both in life and in entree =]
Very yummy!!! I love lamb and will try the recipe soon. I didn't watch the butterfinger cake because of the nut allergies in my home, but butterfingers were one of my favs:( Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
They turned out so tender, like a wonderful tender pot roast, only this was lamb, I imagine if your pot is large enough that you could do this with a leg of lamb.
I haven't had lamb for a LONG time! This looks like I need to get some lamb now!! I could almost smell that cooking...YUM! Falling off the bone delicious! :-) What a great idea to cook the rice in the juices!
I think I forgot to get back to you on your spicy chicken sandwich recipe! It was sooooooooooooo good!! It's a keeper for me for sure! :-)
you're killing me michael! this is my favourite dish ever! i have been wanting to make this for some time now, but i cant find lamb shanks anywhere :( great video!

fuck that looks good.

I have to agree with you that this is fantastic.
Some of my recipes/videos are better than others and this one is in the top 10.
I have another one coming up soon... that is extremely good.
It is short ribs (beef short ribs)
I hope to have it up maybe this weekend.
Thank you so much for your compliment :)

Think lamb shanks are the most tenderist part of the lamb,i usually add some well soaked pearl barley with that dish.
Schnappi1936 1 year ago
@Schnappi1936
I highly recommend that you make this, it is so good and pearl barley sounds very nice as well, thanks!

The pot is one that I bought online.
It is an AllClad pot, that really is not a dutch oven, but I did use it as a dutch oven for the meal.
I think any large pot with a lid would work as long as there are no plastic handles or plastic anything on the pot or lid.
Good luck and you should make this or your beef shanks.
You can do it!
freitasex 2 years ago
Couldn't you continue to cook that on the top of the stove?
Safet 2 years ago
Yes you can cook on the stove, but I wanted to warm up the kitchen!
freitasex 2 years ago
Why are you adding a wine?
Safet 2 years ago
Wine adds a lot of flavor!

You could do up to 6 shanks for 6 people using the same amount of ingredients.
Thank you Jordan.

did u eat u pet goat
YMSFSFNDS 2 years ago
Well, everybody that was going to take him was going to eat him, so I ate him LOL.
I was renting this old house with a barn and the owner decided to take the barn down, so I had to get rid of Alfalfa, poor guy.
freitasex 2 years ago
that sux so bad i really hate to see em die except eating em!
YMSFSFNDS 2 years ago
I almost did not tell you.
freitasex 2 years ago
You ate your pet goat? Lol, when did you have a pet goat? Storytime please!
fezan84 2 years ago
Years ago I used to rent an old farm house complete with a barn.
I was asked by a friend if I would like a young goat.
I had the 4 month old goat for perhaps a month.
The landlord decided to tear down the old barn for its wood.
Poor Alfalfa would be getting rained on because the 1st to go was the roof.
I tried to find Alfalfa a new home, but everybody that would take him was going to eat him.
So I took him to a local place that butchered him and cut him up into different roasts & such :(
freitasex 2 years ago
Aw man, poor Alfalfa =[

Why would'nt you want to eat the vegges you cooked it with? Too soggy?
Looks fantastic!
torinofastcars 2 years ago
The veggies were only celery and 2 carrots along with the onion.
I only used them to flavor the gravy, the gravy was the bomb.

So when you cook do you listen to the music that is in your videos? Because when i cook i usually listen to some Korn, Marilyn Manson, or Disturbed.
wachalookingfour 2 years ago
Oh, no... hell no..
I add the music when editing.
I just try to add music that is "free" and is about the same length as the video... I mostly use freeplaymusic com.
