@jenniferngocngo - Generally it is only painful for the first few seconds, after that it's more of a discomfort feeling. It also depends on who's inserting the IV. The slower the procedure, the more painful it can be for the patient.
Helps if I actually used the right terminology for some of the parts. Sorry about that guys. That's what happens when you make a movie less than 5 min.
