  • This is brilliant.

  • Im 5 months perm free and i love it My children will not have perms fuck that

  • I remember once when I was younger I had scratched my head a lot the day before I went in for a retouch( I didn't know I was getting one the next day). I already had a tender scalp and oh man I thought my brain was melting never felt anything like that ever again in my life.

  • @madl55 speak on it! It's like your head goes numb, but you feel it, I guess its an indescribable pain lol

  • So glad I don't use perm anymore. I don't miss going through that lol nor miss putting something harmful in my hair.

  • the Burn of a Perm

  • If u don't scratch before u get it it won't burn

  • connoisseur lol!

  • OH FUCK YEAH 0:45, I do exactly that! ! !This is too funny.

  • @faithyrose sooooo do i! man and then after wards sometimes it dont get straight hahahahaha it sux!

    for me at least!

  • Why the fuck are dudes getting perms wtf.. and I thought chicks where the only ones.. wtf

  • lil bit longer, WASH IT OUT!!!!

  • I am SO glad i went natural. The perm"torture" is true:worrying abt overprocessing it, having it be TOO straight, thinning & shedding, hair scabs, running from the pool & ocean unless its a FRESH perm...So ridiculous 2 spend +20 yrs living like that! I have more time 2 focus on other things.God didnt give it to me so i must not need it. Its not a handicap, its just vanity & our perception of beauty. Its not abt easy care like some claim.Be HONEST:You just dont like ur naps, kinks n curls!

  • I get texturizers and it doesn't burn...I don't feel anything unless I scratch my hair and it tingles. I thought they were perms but just left on the hair for half the time...

  • i stopped getting perms, thank God

  • I remmeber when i got a perm. It doesnt burn that much,..and i had a pimple on my head...

  • A little longer... Pain is beauty... A little bit loner... Pain is beauty... I remember saying that to myself getting my first perms as a young girl.

  • i used to relax my hair when i was younger and my hair got so bad that i had to cut my it. it took me over years to regrow it out to the length i want before i cut it again. i only cut the split and or dead ends off. trying to see how long it take for my hair to grow down my back

  • This movie made me laugh so much. My Mom put my 1st perm in when I was 2. So I don't really remember what my natural hair is like. I really would like to go natural, though.. As much as I love perms. (Sarcasm.) ^-^

  • @daziya11 wowww two thats really young i wouldnt mind going natural too i scratch my hair a lot lol

  • @TheJazzybear19 YES, girl.TWO! They don't even make perms for two year olds! LOL! I think you have to be 6 or something; or at least that's what I think it says on the boxes. So my Mom must've had NO idea how to deal with my hair. She said she didn't know how to do it, and my afro was getting too big to leave uncombed! Ha! But yeah. I'm going natural, now. :D I scratch my hair a lot, so it'll be fun, when I don' thave to worry about my hairstyle anymore. You should, too. Let the perm grow out!

  • @daziya11 2?! Wow.. lol. I was 10 or 11 when I got my first perm. I don't even think my hair was that difficult to deal with to warrant a perm. But my mom gave it to me anyway.

  • @ilovehornyslags First of all, it is BLACK, not BLEK. Second, as far as I'm concerned, us Black people do not want to be White. This is not a Black and White issue. This is a "how to make hair more manageable" issue. Anyways, if you want to throw Black people out there. What about White people getting perms? We don't accuse them of trying to be Black! So chill. Racism is no where near acceptable, now. It's the 21st century, get in it.

  • @daziya11 Yeah. And white girls put their 'clip ins' on ALL the time. They don't get shit for it. Why do we?

  • @Kellcur I have no idea. I guess because it's their original texture, it's okay for them. >.< But because it's not our original texture, that's automatically self-hate. ._. I DO admit, some Black people do get perms because they think afro-hair is inappropriate for work, or "not cool," but there's only a few of them. Others just get perms because they think straighter hair is easier to manage. I'm sure my Mom would've gotten me a texturizer instead of a harsher perm if she knew about them.

  • i parted 1/4 th of my hair and used a relaxer the burn wasnt so bad but i think the bad part is you think your going to lose your hair so you hurry up and try to gett it out

  • Isn't a "perm" when you make it curly? Everyone I know it calls a "relaxer".

  • @ACluelessKid for people with naturally curly hair a perm will make your hair straight

  • @roxxce345

Aren't they two different things though? Or do people use the terms interchangeably?

  • @ACluelessKid

over all there pretty much the same damn thing. they both consist of the same chemicals, if you have ethnic hair a perm/relaxer will make it straighter for straight hair it will help you with holding curls

  • @ACluelessKid A permanent wave, commonly called a perm, involves the use of chemicals to break and reform the bonds of the hair. It addition, the term can also be used for the de-curling of hair, a process first developed by Renaud Whittington. ..I call it a perm, also.

  • Love the guy at the end:) hahahaha!#sotrue

  • i've been natural for 8 years and i honestly don't miss those days. always being told, "don't scratch your head before you get a perm or its going to burn." SCREW THAT! i can scratch now ALL. I. WANT. :)

  • european standard of beauty fucked us up.

  • @chefawkes

    I Know Rite...SMH.....

  • Why the hell Tpain have all of that make up CAKED on his face like that lol..

  • The burn of a perm ....

  • T pain is acctually not that bad looking as i thought .

  • so glad i went natural! i've been natural for a year!!! and yes, perms(or relaxers) burn like hell lol i couldn't deal with that shit no more!

  • Comment removed

  • What Ice T says is so true! You keep thinking "just another minute, another minute, another minute"

  • @lilipute I know, lol! I got a perm in January and I remember just sitting in the chair feeling my head burning and all I kept repeating was, "I haven't had a perm in six months. I have to let this stay in!"

  • Man, if It takes that much effort to do your hair, I'd rather just spend all those thousands of dollars in perm kits and weave technology into some science that would actually straighten my hair permanently. Fuck all of this burning shit.

  • Our hair is tightly curled full of coils and kinkys which is why you cant run a comb through it. I only use a comb on my head when its wet and full of conditioner so I can detangle. After that, a comb? What? Dont use it.

  • ICE T hit the nail on the head it hurts but u want it straight as possible so you put up with it. Which btw is not something you should do at ALL. LoL

  • i agree with pain lol

  • lool i do that; when its burning and ma head jus tellin me jus wait a lil longer lool

  • @JendayiFaith amen to that! without a relaxer I can't even run my hand through my hair. my fingers will get stuck lol

  • haha just got a relaxer 2 weeks ago!! and that stuff burned me like HELL, but it was worth it.

  • @nigeriansista you should go natural. check out kimmaytube.

  • @anewmeePassion You don't understand. I have been wearing my hair in braids for years. And I wanted to texturize my hair so that it can be more manageable. And unfortunately, a relaxer is the only way to do so. My hair right now is not jet straight and in a few weeks I will be rocking my braids!

  • They need to get that Organic Root Stimulator relaxer cuz I've never been burned by that one LOL

  • I've been relaxing for 5 years, and its never once burned..

  • look im black and my opinion is that whether you want your hair relaxed or naturural is a personal preference. I recently went natural two years ago, and it definitley takes some getting used to. However I learned that I actually love my natural hair (naps and all :) i mean once i figured out how to style and take care of it.

  • @JendayiFaith why do you blek people want to have straight hair? straightening your hair won't make you white. you'll still be a blek person (with straight hair)

  • @ilovehornyslags its not to be white its just to make more styles. i dont think that it makes any one white.

  • Ha! I remember everybody in the audience started jumping laughing at Ice-T's "WASH IT OUT!"

  • I don't know i think T-Pain looks kinda like asian Boudha in this :s

  • @Gabyevo lmfao he does

  • @teena82 loool :D

  • T-Pain has such a jolly face and voice. If Santa Clause is black then T-Pain is definitely Santa.

  • these guys are not lyin

  • omg ice t just said what i always tell myself when i get my hair relaxed

  • to funny

  • T-Pain has the skin of a newborn baby.

  • Ice-T. LOL WASH IT OUT.

  • When I was little I was VERY tender-headed, I think I cried the first time I got a perm. lol

  • t-pain's dreads are so on point.

  • i had to get a perm when i was two and it burnt for 3 days.

  • @ZhuZhuWebkinz101 How??????

  • @SPsokrbaby1 to much relaxer

  • Relaxers really do hurt like hell, or maybe I just have a weird scalp. I could never let mine sit for more than a few minutes before my hairdresser had to wash it out. Glad I'm natural now.

  • @Sk8erGirl858 DITO!

  • Relaxers hurt, especially for me because I'm super sensitive.

    I don't understand people.

  • if it burns THAT much you're keeping it on for too long.

  • I have no idea what they're talking about lol. When I get perms, even when I got my first perm, it didn't burn the way they say it does. It'll itch a little. But not to the point where you feel like your whole head is on fire lol.

  • Yeah, it is great looking, T-Pain's complexion that is!

  • tpainn look goood lol

  • i mean i know there's bonding where its like hair extentions but i mean bonding as in like a perm , but less damaging and no pain

  • is relaxers the same as bonding ?

  • ohhh t-pain...u kill me

  • To me perms don't burn they just itch like crazy! But I stopped that perming mess because it was making my hair fall out. So I grew my own hair now it's below the bra strap. African Ameriacans don't know what their hair can do it grows just like any other race you just can't see the length because of how coiled it is. Just leave it the heck alone and it will grow trust. Perming, braids, weaves, and afros are not the only options.

  • "a little longer, a little longer, a little longer, WASH IT OUT!" hahaaa story of my life.

  • They say a perm burns your scalp....relaxer is made from lye, the same chemical that Brad Pitt uses to put a chemical burn on his hand in the movie Fight Club. NaOH

  • Perms years back (for me) hurt like hell. Only way to have have your scalp burn while getting a perm is by not scratching your head period for a week. It hurts, but on most hairs it works. Now, there are new relaxers with organic ingredients that keep hair healthy, clean, hurt less, and looking natural than other relaxers. I use Dr. Miracle and my hair stays fresh for months. It's always been natural, yet people ask if it's weave. lol

  • @Mika20 Natural or real? Natural means no perms right...

  • @irrationalluv08

Natural as in real hair. Not sure about the no perm part, but it's whatever people consider.

  • @Mika20 ok.

  • i was laughing through the whole thing cause it's true perm burns are the reason why i don't go back to the stylists. cause you're sitting there in the chair and you send help me signs to just about anyone to get that thing out your hair-that and baking under the dryer.

if you want your hair to pick back up again use a texturizer not a perm

  • I've got my hair straighten and permed. It NEVER hurt.

  • [erms dont burn and my hair is soo long with a perm and im only 11!!!!

  • My perms don't burn.

  • lmao t-pain kills me

  • Comment removed

  • ugly ass nigga, ugly ass hair, ugly ass shit...

  • LOL Al Sharpton. Lord knows that man still perms.

THIS is a good, informational movie and I'm happy Chris Rock did this

  • I think its hotter than fire!

  • I would never go to get my hair cut by a man, but then again I believe half of what you pay for is the 15 min wash by the young trainee :)

  • @vikfk Funny, I'd rather get my hair done by a man. The best cuts I have ever had were done by men. I don't know what it is, but women just like to fuck up my head.

  • A Little Bit Longer A Little Bit Longer WASH IT OUT LMAOOOO!

  • lol thats why ur not suppose to scratch ur scalp prior to getting a perm. If uve been scratching u wait a day to get it..

  • i remember the first time i got a perm, damn my head was on fire!

  • fuck a perm, i only got it because mj and bone thugs gotten it

  • @Redrumhydro Well we all thought MJ had a perm but he was just wearing lace front wigs. And Bone Thugs....maybe some of them did, but I don't think fat bone did cause his hair was long but it was "fro" texture.

  • @Monaray1 mj did had a perm or something like that and bone of course had a perm n they didnt wear no fucking wig!!!

  • @Redrumhydro Sorry you are mistaken, Michael Jackson wore lace front wigs. You can debate me back and forth if you want to but they were wigs. HE WORE WIGS!!! Even the person who did his autopsy confirmed this information. So... The end! Do not respond to me anymore regarding this matter! I am right and you are wrong!

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... lets say that is true that mj had worn lace wigs, so when did he started to wear lace wigs? can you tell me that? and when you say "they" u are refferring to bone thugs? if so then you are terribly wrong because i got bone thugs facebooks n their kids and family and friends!!!

  • And God help you if you scratch before the perm!

  • My hair+a perm = most o my hair falling out.

  • Lol! Ice-T is right...I've sat there knowin I was burnin like hell cuz I wanted my junk bone straight...very much a torture session!

  • i remember my first relaxer....i thought i was gonna die!

  • It depends on what type of relaxer you're using too! My mom used to use Motions on my head, but then after my hair got worse she took me to a hair dresser. Apparently Motions relaxer was way to freaking strong. It would burn even though I hadn't scratched for over a day. Now my hair dresser uses one that doesn't even burn if I do scratch. There's nothing wrong with relaxers...I only get them once a month and my hair is growing well.

  • this is such an exaggeration

  • Ice T knows exactly what it's like. LOL You wait a bit longer to get it straighter.

  • 0:22 name of hairstyle please?

  • @Th3D4rKn3s5 he has dreads they're freshly twisted and well groomed if you have any questions about dreads ask me i know all about them

  • @harlsandivy thank you very much. i haven't any question :D

  • @harlsandivy What is the best dreads style? My sister is gonna make me some dreads next week, but i still dont know what style i should get. I thought about doing the Waka flocka style. Whats your thought?

  • @RealBigDeal22 the waka flocka hair would be a great look on anybody if you dont mind me asking whats your nationality?

  • @harlsandivy Im an Haitian

  • Check out dreadcap.com

  • "Wash it out!" LOL

  • Check out dreadcap.com

  • The burn is not THAT bad. Just wash it out as soon as you feel even a little ITCH. It won't be completely straight, but that what you got flat iron and roller set for! Its not like you can get the look you want with just relaxer alone anyway. If you just relax it straight and do nothing else, your hair will look like shit.

  • @quitejaded why even put yourself through this..I don't get this.

  • @mereje Because it is even more painful to deal with the natural hair for me. I would so much rather sit with a relaxer for 20 minutes (and it does not burn like what they are talking about... these people are applying it incorrectly) and be able to style my hair any way fast and look decent than work with my natural hair for an hour every night. Nm nm.

  • @PeaceUdo most people I know with natural hair don't spend and hour on their hair every night..why do you think they do?

  • @mereje Because the naturals I know do and when I was natural, if I didn't, my hair broke off.

  • @quitejaded Actually the burning is really bad. If you don't base (grease) your scalp the night before and you're scratching your head before going in, it will burn. To encourage a half-assed perm job and to straighten hair is a bad idea. Frequent straightening just damages the hair. That's why I don't straighten my hair anymore. You can definitely get the look you want if you base and avoid scratching. I learned my lesson and now people are constantly asking my mom and I if we have weaves.

  • the burn of a perm is most excruciating pain...i think its hotter then fire

    T-Pain funny 4 that one

  • I "LUVVVV" T PAIN'S RICH SKIN TONE!!!! ...his complexion is PERFECT!!!

  • @Yashaabakadawbra yeah it's soo beautiful and unique!!

  • t pain = ugly mother fucka

  • the burn of the perm hahahhaha

  • I think only lye relaxers burn. Whenever I got my hair relaxed, the stylist would smooth it down so in essence the relaxer always touched my scalp. I got sick of that shit because every time a touch up came, I would get scalp sores. I only relaxed my hair for about a year and a half. I'LL NEVER RELAX AGAIN. I made a huge mistake when I got one. Relaxers aren't for me. I like my hair and I don't have to worry about doing so many treatments to keep it from breaking.

  • @zzellezz1: lmbo! yea! me too! I've never had a relaxer burn.

  • i got a my first perm a few days ago... that shit do burn

  • @rtglt ur probably gonna wanna go back to natural later on in life... im only a teenager and im transitioning back to natural right now.. im sorry but a perm was one of the mistakes i made in MY life.. u prolly like it but i know im growin that perm the eff out.

  • lol @ Ice-T at the end!

  • ive never had a perm in my life and my hair STILL short damit..

  • This is funny because I put in my own relaxers, and have NEVER had a relaxer burn.

  • Ice T gets perms? lol..

  • @AmberSumer He's mixed so I believe his natural hair is curly and from time to time he has to smooth it.

  • the first time I got a relaxer in my hair, I was 4 or 7, but that was because my hair would break the comb in half when natural and I had tons of hair, and I also wanted the Shirley Temple style curls in my hair, so it was the only way. I don't remember how much it burned, but I do remember the smell. now at 22, my ends are broken off, because I just didn't take care of my natural hair, but I am getting back to that real 7yr old natural stuff

  • I got a perm when I was about nine or ten... I sat in that chair for a good five hours and eventually I got so tired and was in so much pain, that I just bursted out in tears. The worst thing about it? I didn't book ANY result whatsoever, my hair was still as frizzy and thick as when I came in the barbershop. Those were five hours of my life and 60 euros that I will never get back. That was the last time I got a perm...

  • i get a perm once a month and the rest of the time i just wash nd yeah dont ever scratch your head riht before a perm i learned that the hard way....DAMN it burned like hell but my hair was straight..lol

  • ice-t gave the funniest interviews. the fake titties part and the ending line

i think that was funny - and im a girl lol

  • CAn you believe this chris rock who has got beautiful , intelligent black women feeling the need to 'justify' why they may wear weaves. Personally i say chris rock can kiss my ass he is a hypocrite, all the women who believe natural hair makes you 'more' black, can kiss my ass and so can every black man out there..i mean lets face it most of them would prefer a latina/ brazillian woman to a natural or relaxed sista any day of the week. Women make your own choices...

  • uh those men are such wusses =P you get used to it

  • a little bit longer...just a little bit longer...a little bit longer...WASH IT OUT!

ahahahahahahaha! i know EXACTLY what he means. happens to me everytime.

  • a little bit longer ,, a little bit longer ,, a little bit longer .. WASH IT OUT !! haha

  • sperm :)

  • My first perm didn't burn that bad lol. And it still doesn't burn me.

  • my first one didn't bother me THAT bad....

  • I'm a guy, and I've got no problems just cutting my own hair or sporting an afro, if I want my hair to look shiny I don't even need to do a perm. That's just me, I love my hair as it is, natural.

  • Ice T was hilarious!! But so true!!

  • when i got my 1st per or any perm i get it never ever!!! burns for some resson

  • so true !! Ice T is so right ! hahaahha

  • Oh, this segment is so damn true! It's also the reason I'm never having another perm as long as I live. The pain is just not worth it, and I have a small bald spot on one side of my head....for what? So my hair can look nice for a few days and then go all crazy if I get caught in the rain?

Gonna be rocking the teeny-weeny afro this summer, then I'm just going to let it grow out naturally.

  • when it burns it means its starting to burn thru your scalp

    its a type of acid

  • does ice t perm his hair?

  • @Raech3ll3 yep

  • Ice T was funny

  • The important thing is that you are open and accepting to all types of hair. Hair does not make who you are, and all that matters is that you wear it the way you want to, and not to impress or look good for someone else. That is what good hair is.

  • Comment removed

  • i relax my hair , im not black ,but it dosent damage my hair and it grows really long and thick. i dont know why it damages some ppls hair and not others.

  • Thats because your not black, I mean black people hair is different from different races.

  • i have been natural forever i have never had a perm i use to wanted one but after i saw my friends and there hair started to get shorter and damage and my hair got longer and more health i changed my mind and if i want it to look relaxed i just flat iron or hot comb it.
