A lot of the problem in southeast Asia is that they view women and even children as disposable objects and also the fact that the police/legal system is corrupt. I've talked with women who've been forced to have numerous abortions, which usually is the better of the 2 evils when you think of what the children will endure. It is also very bad in eastern Europe.

Sorry, also wanted to add that people only care about this sort of thing, including rape/ molestation of children when it happens to someone they love/care about. It is very hard to try to get the word out about this sort of thing, which is why I had to leave the organizations and people I worked with behind. There is only a certain amount of heart break you can live with and also the fact these stories you hear makes it difficult to sleep at night.
