I grew up with rap, and I lament the decline of rap that focused on lyricism with a conscious and an awareness of political and social involvement. Considering the corporate machine controls what entertainment we're fed, its no wonder that rap morphed into a tool of control by promoting violent, misogyny, homophobia, gun-hungry music with no sense of clever lyrics and soulless lack of a bigger message. Great vid. Here in Europe, we're coping with the trickled down effects of hip-hop. This result is even more radical denigrating of women, gays, etc but then out of the mouth of "wannabe/hearsay" hiphoppers.
