What a work out! My uncle in law just got back from China last week. He was disappointed that the food didn't taste the same as it does here. I would be so upset if Chicken & Broccoli didn't taste the same. As upset as the pain after climbing all those steps. My thighs hurt after watching all those people. Oh Lawd!
@Jaylasplenty Extra seasoning is added to the Chinese food to make it more appealing to us in the US. The food is shipped frozen in boxes to the restaurants according to a friend who worked in his aunt's and uncle's Chinese restaurant. A Chinese restaurant here where I live makes everything from scratch. It definitely is a bit more bland and overall different. I would imagine that the same is true with most ethnic food served in the US, except for ethnic foods originating here.
@Dosunty You're right because I've tasted made from scratch and it was very bland. I've also tasted Latin Chinese food from my old neighborhood. I didn't like it much. Oyster sauce and garlic sauce make a big difference. (I've learned from my Asian room mates.) Thanks for the reply!
oh man... this makes me miss china! I wanna go back and visit again! Love, love, loved it!
