  • i love this show cant wait till monday😊

  • My friend Chanelle is a ASL instructor and she is teaching me it. I wanna say I have 8friends who are deaf or hard of hearing. I love them to death. ASL is a great thing to have

  • this show has inspired me to learn ASL, i take classes, spend almost all of my free time on an online dictionary, and pretty much sign where ever i go! its such a beautiful language and i love it soo much.

  • People who are deaf are great actors! Emotion and expression is a part of ASL in my opinion.

  • I absolutely love Switched At Birth. I'm HOH and had to take sign to fill in the foreign language credits for school because it's too hard to try to learn a second language, when I already can't hear English. I'm really pleased to see they use real ASL in this show, half the time I don't even need to read the captioning that's provided.

  • Hahaha Im talking ASL 1 now because Im bad at spanish as well.

  • The first dude has a woman's voice, weird

  • you can see the set of Make It Or Break It at the end!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if he can speak why is there no video footage only the finale of switched at birth?

  • @jbluvarz1234 ask him on twitter

  • @110011bobby he doesnt reply he probally gets thousands of questions on twitter every day.

  • @geneeskundefreak no he signs i can speak pretty well but he never talks but he talked in the finale of switched at birth that was really him and he does speak well i just want to hear him talk more.

  • I started to take ASL for the same reasons I tried Spanish in college though and I sucked at it which made me hate it. Then I tried ASL and I love it!!! The Deaf culture is so interesting.

  • @mybloodyvalintine011 I have ADHD and I'm dyslexic also i think hanging out with kids that have issues works for me because I got the ADHD And the dyslexia from my dad that got it from my grandpa and my grandma is handicapped but i like it because they are more patent because even tho they don't have the same problems they still understand people getting frustrated with them all the time

  • its good to be with people who are not "ordinary"

    I have dyslexia and ADHD

One of my friend's does have Meniere's disease

I have a friend who went blind at 10 years old.

2 friends of mine have autism and aspergers syndrome

and my lovable cousin has down's syndrome.

I have a deaf friend, his name is simon

I just find that sometimes, these people are just more better than normal people and I find it comfortable hanging out with them b/c I know I am not the only one with problems evry1 has them.

  • i got tons of normal friends..but 2of my friends are deaf..in my Xperience deaf people certainly better than normal does.just sayin..sorry

  • I -3 sean and katie(:

  • I -3 sean and katie(:

  • I love u Sean!!

  • Anyone else realize that Sean was in the sandlot 2? He played fingers!

  • Sean father is soooo cute >///< , oh Sean cute too ^^ hihi

  • Katie is amazing!

  • @LauraPukish Are you deaf?

  • Well, my whole family is deaf :)

  • @hesscougarsbball Are you blind or what? I'm telling you that Sean himself sign that he speak pretty well, I know that "translator" speak for him (translate his signs) in this BTS videos and all others.

  • rachel mcadams doppleganger

  • sean is a cute

  • @TheOnesWeLoveTheMost

My grandma wasn't born deaf but over time she lost her hearing. She is almost completely deaf now, but she can hear alittle she is aware of what's going on around her. She wasnt like that when my mom was younger it happened over time. So she knows how to speak and lip reads almost always. But she communicates well, you just have to look at her when you talk and if she doesn't understand what you saying she just goes " ya, uh huh " so then we repeat ourselves louder or just

  • @110011bobby

He signs in this one, "I speak pretty well".

  • @faxbbandfrogs Oh, right -) I've uploaded so many Behind The Scenes SAB video's that I didn't remember in what video he sings that -)

  • wow she speaks so perfectly

  • @TheOnesWeLoveTheMost she speak good because she wasn't born with the sickness she I guess gained it idk but she have it when she can't hear she can do sing laungue

  • @4:52 did anyone realize tht is rocky mountain gym aka MAKE IT OR BREAK IT!!!!

  • Okay, I kinda don't get it. If Katie doesn't hear how does she speak so well ? Yeah, she has that machine, but still. And did she loose her hearing in a moment ? /well not in a moment but you know what i mean/ and was her hearing so bad her whole life and she just didn't notice it ?

However, i really really like the show :) We don't get such tv shows now days :)

  • @TheOnesWeLoveTheMost Because she wasn't born deaf. She was in high school when she was diagnosed with that disease that slowly made her partially deaf. She probably just thought she listened to music too loud or something. I don't know that part. But she speaks well because she can hear sometimes and once you've heard yourself talk enough I think you're able to speak without having to hear yourself.

  • so emmet is really deaf in real life but he can also talk?

  • I love emmett!

  • Oh wow. She had me convince that she really talks and sounds like she does on the show! She IS an AMAZING actress. Wow wow.

  • wait so sean's dad is also deaf? isn't it normal then, that he was going to get a deaf son or isn't that how it works? i'm from belgium so i don't get everything they say, for example sean's dad said that he didn't know that his son was deaf until someone told him and they banged with a pot and pan and they didn't get a response? i thought doctors test everything when a baby is born, like hearing, sight... or am i wrong? + i have so much respect for sean, i love ASL, it is a beautiful language!

  • @Knorretjex38 From what this is saying, it sounds like both of Sean's parents are Deaf, but didn't expect Sean to be because the parents had lost their hearing due to illness, rather than genetics. Normally, if two people are Deaf, they have a 50% chance (I think) of having a Deaf child...but that's when genetics plays a role and, like I said, Sean's parents' Deafness didn't seem to come from genetics. (to be cont...)

  • @Goofy16girl787 (continued from previous comment) Also, a doctor checks on everything that they believe are the "normal" tests for a baby. A hearing test isn't included in that, as far as I know. Hope this all helped!

  • @Goofy16girl787 actually I was told that it is a required in all states before discharge from the newborn units... It is at least required in PA because they said when my son is born he has to be tested before discharge. I am slightly scared that he will be severly hard of hearing like me

  • @angelmom1995 Oh, okay. Thanks for the correction!

  • @Goofy16girl787 Got it! Thank you ;)

  • @Knorretjex38 You're welcome :-).

  • WOW. I can't BELIEVE Katie's voice isn't the same as on the show. I am SO impressed with her acting abilities. In the scene where she uses what I now know to be her real voice, I thought it was just excellent dubbing! Haha! Love this show!

  • lmfao I love how the make it or break it gym is in the background at the end xD

  • they found the perfect daphne :)

  • @WWJDcreations emmet cant talk

  • @babejdf I think you mean 'doesn't.' He proved in the tenth episode that he *can* talk using his voice.

  • @Goofy16girl787 yea i know what im getting at is he really is deff in real life not just in the show.i know he can i watch the show all the time

  • before the show came on i new a little sign lagnaug but i wasnt studying it to actually to be able to communicate. i was doing it to do it on my spare time. but after this show came out it made me want to actually want to communicate. not i am learning songs and i just learned how to say my name and praticing on telling kids in the class there names is sign lagnauge. i can also say part of the speech that emmett said to bay :) i love this show cant wait till its back!

  • I'm sad about Katie Leclerc because they said she cant hear comfortably

  • "Directing is 90% casting."

  • Oh my, I thought they were acting deaf.

But this is so amazing! :) I appreciate the people casting them =D

  • Sean is yummy:)

  • I find it amazing that even people that are deaf can have an acting career. Every show i watched never had a deaf or can't hear well person in it. I'm glad switched at birth did it with deaf or hard to hear people in that show, It's amazing and it makes me happy that even people that are deaf or can't hear that well can have a successful and happy life.

  • i can empathize wit yu. It's been hard for my sister too. Thanks for supporting ppl who need extra help..

  • sean is SO CUTE!!

  • I'm sooo glad they have a show based on hearing impaired people.... It is sooo easy to relate to them since they understand what it's like to live your whole life as a hard of hearing kid.. I mean.... they understand "EVERYTHING!".. some normal people just don't get it when it is just hard to socialize!! we(hearing impaired) have to keep on saying... "WHAT?!?!?!" ... but hey, life ain't fair.. lol

  • Sean is so HOT

  • Aww it sucks she doesn't speak the way she does in the show in real life! Idk it would make it more real!

  • @puetoricangurl27 it wont.. if her character was deaf since 3years old.

  • oh my gosh i LOVE sean berdy!!!!!!! new favorite actor!!!

  • i relate to her sooooooo much, shes an inspiration to me. i have hearing aides well.

  • Aaaawwwwww Sean iz sssoooo cute!!!

  • @Becksahh14 lol he so is :D

  • Lol yeah i realized that after I posted the comment. llolol

  • Why does the actress who plays daphne use a different voice in theshow

  • @Lissiedoll14 Because her character can't speak perfectly if she was deaf since she was 3 years old.

  • @Lissiedoll14 i think she uses the same voice on the show as she is using now, but i have noticed that on the show her speech fluctuates between episode and i think it depends on how much she can hear for the day. Like she said her condition causes her to sometimes hear and somedays not hear anything at all and i think that effects her speech both as an actor and a charachter, because their the same person obviously.

  • @Lissiedoll14 they needed to give her the deaf accent, the actress for daphne is actually extremely hard of hearing, but personally fluent in asl

and i love the reason she's taking ASL, i'm the same reason :p

  • @Lissiedoll14 Because in the show Daphne had never really heard anyone talk. She doesn't know how she sounds either

  • sean is so cute

  • they were at the rock from make it or

    break it

  • omg i had no idea Daphne was actually deaf in real life!

  • @coolioh101XOXO she's not deaf. She has Menières disease, wich impares her hearing ability sometimes very much and sometimes not...

  • @jolfi11 uhmm actually it impairs her hearing ability most of the time.
