    If you're interested in the circumstances that have bearing on the origin of the epidemic do a youtube search for "THE ORIGIN OF AIDS pt 1" there are 6 parts. I recommend it but the origin is a bit more complicated.

But bottom line, mothers cannot "father" and fathers cannot "mother." Neither can two fathers "mother"...neither can two mothers "father" when a child needs one or the other. Having two loving parents is ideal but sometimes the ideal isn't possible (because of death, abuse, divorce, or other circumstances)...but the IDEAL doesn't change. Thank you. :-)

And about what the judge said about kids that are missing a father-figure get into more troble. Do you think it has to do with that there is only one adult watching the kid and the single parent cant give the attention needed(needs to consider all variables). There needs to be studies on same sex marriage inorder to determine that.

    Parents will not be allowed to opt out. In Masachusettes, there is an opt out option also, but the education system worded it in a such a way, that teaching homosexuality doesn't fall under the opt out option.

    You will see that a YES on 8 is the only way to protect children's rights and homosexuals' rights.

  • I just read an L.A. Times article that said the Yes on 8 "protesters" were hostile and the No supporters were friendly. The footage in the clip suggests just the opposite. Also, a lot of "out-of-state" money has come in for Prop 8, mostly on the "No" side with about 33% of their funds from out-of-staters.

  • I would agree with the judge. This is not about civil rights. It is indisputable that a child needs both a mother and a father. There are well-meaning gay couples who adopt children, but it is undeniable that the welfare of the child increases when there is both a mother and a father in the home.

Just because a majority thinks it is okay to take away a minority's rights, doesn't make it okay. Prop 8 is not about religious freedom, it is about imposing religion on others. Your religious opinion on marriage doesn't warrant it being a principle of the constitution.

  • I will agree that the man arguing the no position didn't do much justice to the argument. The fact is that gay marriage protects children more than it harms them. Who is protecting the children of gay couples? AND why is it such a terrible thing for children to learn about the diversity of America.
