The scene isn't just a few frames of pretty animation. It's the resolution of a fight that was there since the first episode. There were so many conflicted feelings cultivated inside his empty head; he was accepting life lessons at the hands of this crazy pink haired woman with a guitar who had actually done nothing but manipulate and harass him.

In this moment, he took charge and told her what he thought.

@Rizo536 yes i know i saw all the episodes too and they werent bad....they are just using the use of "deus ex machina" (randomly something happens that saves the day, or situation) and naota's bond with haroeko whatever her name is wasnt even that strong for him to be saying i love you and kiss her, just to end a scene like that, lost potential if u ask me

Potential has nothing to do with it. FLCL is nothing like your typical shonen. It's the showcased embodiment of adolescence. Shit is crazy and fleeting. FLCL never needed hundreds of episodes to build a relationship like some anime do. It's subverted so many tropes that mainstream shows tend to be riddled with, and it did it with amazing style.

This show is fast and furious, and that's the way it's supposed to be. Asking it to go by your pace would devalue it.

@Rizo536 in my honest opinion u cant really get attached to the characters....its only 6 episodes....and u cant really get attached either in naruto , there are too many eps. if someone dies there ur gonna be like "oh about damn time" but in one of the best animes ever created like death note, with a good number of episodes, you will definitely get attached, especially of the ending (dont wanna spoil anything if u didnt seen it yet)

it was the perfect anime because it didn't need to stay long it was only 6 episodes yet it went all over and never will be forgotten, it had the spine to end unlike other animes that ended up shit and fillers FLCL FOR LIFE!!!! :3

@Johny1722 its only the ones like dbz, Naruto and bleach as those are filler loaded because the manga was ongoing on dbz at that time,the others on going still. But MOST anime has little to no filler,example Yu Yu Hakusho had like one or two filler moments wasn't noted and it wasn't sluggish it was fast pasted.Yet it was perfect still one of the longest in the run of a anime that was good. Its not on anymore but I can't help but re-watch Yu Yu Hakusho again and again
