2003 Tony Iommi Epiphone SG electric guitar

With in the past 4 years certain Epiphone Sg models smoke the Gibsons and you can bet on that Gibson players. As a matter of fact the 2010 model Epiphone G400 standard 62 Sg is still.conciderd the best standard Sg out there today.

I've notice the strap pin on the horn,instead of on the back ,at the bottom of the neck.

@19gino65 yeah, tony didnt like the balance of the guitar originally, so he moved the strap button. he has it like that on all his sgs.

My personal exp with this guitar is that its crap in comparison to a standard Epi G400. Will I sell it? No, because the 1-up the Iommi has over G400 is 24 frets, other than that, G400 vs Iommi is the same (minus the pickups).

I will be purchasing G400's and replacing the pathetic Gibson signature pickups.

They seem to lack bite and the sustain is terrible (Vox AC30 test on 2 Iommi signature guitars; both the same.)

@DopeSick408 You reckon? I have this SG, so does my dad which also has a Epi G400.

My Iommi sig has major sustain and tonal issues - it sucks.

I figured my SG is that way bc its a factory 2nd, but after modifcations (nut replacement, bridge adjustment), resulting in a better sound than my dads brand-new iommi SG.

Comparing all three through a Vox AC30, the G400 sounds and sustains FAR better. Pathetic really, esp since its Epi factory PU vs Gibson signature.

@thestrugglewithin Hmm Maybe you got lucky on finding a nice Epi Sg, I wouldnt doubt it, Personally im a fender guy myself, always having a humbucker in the bridge.
