  • Is this synth overall better than the Xiosynth?

  • Comment removed

  • @DeeJayMiikkii i know right!? poeple always say that i listen to techno when i don't. i listen to dance witch is techno with words

  • héh_Ï_féèl_sø_løÑElY_toÐaY

  • is necesary touch the piano tu made this?

    sorry, i dont speak english

  • is the X-station better than the microKORG? just asking your opinions..

  • @cjsinister6 Yes. The X is also a midi controller and synth. The micro sounds terrible and too toyish.

  • well i prefer not to use a supersaw and do it myself anyway then you can use the gradual detuning as an effect to, nice demo

  • @DeeJayMiikkii: The differences are too marginal yet to justify distinct "genre" names for every difference in ROM preset use ;)

  • dam, thats cool

  • slow lfo to modulate cutoffo or what?

  • have had an X-Station 49 for years and I hate it, would not recommend it to anyone. Its crap. The synth is toyish, but the unit BUILD is just weak. it is designed like computer peripheral grade, rather than pro audio grade - you can see it. The knobs are small and fiddly/weak - you cant get a good solid grip for live use, the sliders are gritty and crap. the pitch control LEAKS, the buttons get stuck, also the look of it is horrible. ONLY decent point: the actual key action is good.

  • @EoN604 whats funny is that even though you think it looks horrible you still bought one? :)

  • how do you change scale or octave ... i just got xstation 49 thanx

  • Super-saw ))))))

  • Hey nige87, Liked your demo of what this reasonably priced synth can actually do!My x-station 61 has been totally underutilsed at the moment, will be using it as a midi controller for ableton live 8 studio as well. Do you know where I can download more patches for the x-station?

  • dont think so..its sounds plastic, pretty plastic, 8000 is much better and poweefull synth!

  • hahaha fuckin brilliant good work .lovely sounds

  • pretty badass man.

  • hi!

can you make (program) your own arpeggio presets on X-Station? If yes, then please explain how can I do this? Thanks ;)

  • can i use the sounds from this on reason or any other DAW sum way? sum1 please answa. thanks!

  • this sound is generated by the x-stations internal synth. if you want you can output it either via the trs-connectors or via usb. once it is in the computer, any daw can access the sound...

  • you should be able to control it by midi like any other softsynth with a usb MIDI cable, but the cord doesnt do audio, so youd have to buy an interface and a 1/4 instrument cable

  • jo bro u fukkin can use tha soundzzzz greeetz da mastah

  • nice sounds

  • Niiice!!! dude you are good with trance arps...i suck at it =/...

  • Techno isnt edm, its a genre inside edm.

Trance is also a genre , and have npo connection to techno excpet for the beats.

Techno concentrate on the beat while trance concentrates on melody \ pretty sounds and leads.

  • I agree :)

    edm = Electronic Dance Music

  • too much detuning

  • well i think trance is well affirmed as its own genre no sub about it lol if u want to liken trance with techno its known as tech-trance which btw is fucking awesome i personally recommend a track called simon patterson - bulldozer

  • more trancy

  • can i use the x station without a pc? or is it strictly usb powered? plz help

  • That's what I was aiming at saying, I should have given a more descriptive comment to this video. The synth sounds like it could be apart of a gabber/Hardcore track.

  • You mean electronic music.......Techno is just a style.

  • THis is trance noob

  • correctly speaking trance is actually a form of techno, not many ppl know this

  • trance was developed from techno and rock.

  • NEDM

  • Your actually not speaking correctly, Trance is a genre of EDM, techno is NOT trance its also a genre of EDM. techno was invented in Detroit back in early 90's after house music is Chicago. Not many people know. Because you fail in life.

  • @Boki15 More like early 80's

  • Originally, trance is a form of hypnosis using repetitive sounds, nothing to do with techno.

  • Could the same thing be achieved with an A station? I hear that they use the same engine...

  • Engines are slightly different I believe. More modulation possibilities here .. I think?

  • So what arpeggio mode did you use?

    Up, +1, what shape?

    Classic sound really!

  • LOOKS LIKE you could do with a few more keys there ;)

  • if u make a song with this , i wanna download it ^^

  • can it sound very warm like analogue ?

  • your amazing <3

  • 0:40 Arpegio Supersaw. That rocks!

  • quick question, how much was that?

  • sweet job !!

put some more vids up ! ;)

    stay easy

    culture

  • X" or K station ?

    in terms of sound quality?

  • Sarcasm Intended?

  • its obligatory 7? or you can make a supersaw from 3++ ?

  • Thanks. I never knew that.

  • what about a supersaw wave makes it different from a regular saw wave?

  • Really like this sound. Mind sending a sysex?

  • Come ON people!!!!

Where is the USER COMMUNITY for the X Station and the Xiosynth???! We could have a site exchanging hundreds of sounds!!! I see what's happening with other synths and companies and I am dissapointed! :-(

  • Very very true. I created a bank of xiosynth sounds and its got some good feedback so far, check my vids if you're interested dude :)

Someone should definately make a website where banks can be uploaded by users and shared around.

  • Thanks a lot! :-) Actually, the best place to start is to tweak the ones that already exist...

  • there's a yahoo group for the x-station and quite possibly one for the xio synth.

As for the original poster, I'd love to test the patch you're working with on mine. Thanks for the demo.

  • I will look for it! In the meanwhile, it's taking very long to sort out a nice list of presets that I want to use... the few memory places and the horrible preset editor of the X Station are making my life difficult!

  • (That was an answe to buggzo btw):P

  • supersaw doesnt sound too good on this, could be the filter though. i prefer the saws that can be made with synth1 vst. when i hear that synth im thinkin superwave synth. arp sequence u did at the end is nice though :)

  • Synth1 compared to this "Novation guy" sounds like a toy from a kiosk. Synth1 is quite a good synthesizer though :)

  • I've got an old school synth. A jx-10, but it doesn't have an appregiator. If I get this keyboard, could I control the jx-10 with it and use the x station appregiator, to appregiate my jx-10 patches????

  • Hey buggzo as a synth i would say the x station is a great choice but i would really get the nord rack 2 or the full keyboard but you pick the right one ok thanks

    Patrick

( i am on my bros acoutn m real acount is "IHATEOWEN" and the bg pic is my on my Roland AX-7 ok)

  • I would keep away from Nord and get the 25 key version of X-Station. It weighs 2.5 kilos and it has 6 effects at a time! You can get blowing mind arpeggiator solos only Virus TI is capable of!

  • I actually have the X Station and have also played with the Virus... all I can say is that I don't like the arpeggios of the X Station one bit... (one of the very few things that I don't like about it)

  • To answer your question: YES!=)

Just hook up with a Midi cable, play on the master-keyboard, and it will control the slave which has the sounds you would like to use with an arpeggiator. I can also recommend Roland SH-201, which has a good arpeggiator, and you can use the included software to edit the arpeggiator on you computer!

  • My audio production professor recommended the sh101 to me. So I'll have to check that out too. I have a really tight budget so that's the main thing is finding an appregiator for my analog synthesizer beast at the right price. But the more the controller can do the better!

    Thanx everybody for your answers!

  • There probably are better supersaws, but really for its price and what it does the X-station is a great keyboard.

    Nice video man

  • You know I have played some nice sh*t in my time.. I own a kurzweil, and jd800, have played the spectralis and virus and andromeda and some real good old one's moog oberheim etc.

For a cheap little synth this one impressed me more than the ms2000, ion etc everything else at guitar center which is bunk-ish...

Anyway thanks for reminding me why I liked it in the first place .. it just had a juicy fat little sound for such a low price.

  • I dont like the supersaw at all. heard muuuuch better ones!

  • Can you expand the last part? It sounds amazing.

  • It's the arpeggiator.

Just read some basic info on synthesizers and you'll understand.

  • I know that it's an arpeggiator. I just wanted to listen to a complete song based on that part.

By the way what chords does it use?

I'm a newbie, but I've tried an 3-key up direction arpeggiator from fruity loops(auto(sustain)chord) and played the same keys but it didn't sound like that.

  • about 2 days after i watched i got this synth its crazy good lol but i haven't got it yet 5 stars

  • (OoO) *jaw hanging open*

  • trance

  • This video made me decide to buy this synth. Five stars.

  • haha nice, im fucken getting one of those

  • Very good man!!!

  • does the Xstation have the same voice and presets as the Xiosynth?

  • nice nice...

  • Nice use of arpeggiator.

  • timing is horrible, sorry

  • nice.. can you modify the arpeggiator patterns in x station? any cons?

  • wow dat sounds pretty kool man good job =)

  • How would u compare this keyboard to other ones on the market at the moment??

  • What model do you have?

  • im getting this.. the 25 model.. Nice!

  • what preset was that? if it was one ;)

  • Hey, can someone help me decide between an X station and a Xiosynth? the x-gator and 2 extra voices is cool, but, the X station seems to have so much more... Any ideas anyone?

  • Im in exactly the same position as aliobot-except theres (I think its)the m audio oxygen out to (firewired),any ideas anyone? Im hopin to rely on its audio interface capabilities and midi controller inparticular,,,cheers

  • Well.. i have the X-station 61

All i know is that it is quite capabel of the most things that is needed of an midi master keyboard combined with a 3osc synth digital effects and a 2 channel audio mixer with low latency firewire soundcard capabilities.... There are no sampling features what so ever in the Xstation alone, I dont know about the Oxygen. A fun thing with the X-station is the batteries(wich can be charged via 9V Adapter or USB power) if they are rechargeable!

  • Yes indeed, I am a big fan of this schweet little unit, and I'm just the guitar player. Nice work!

  • these kind of gear demo videos are pretty cool. lets hope youtube audio quality gets better and better

  • i just bought one of these things and one of the reasons why is seeing you pulling off a superwave!Sounds great show me some more sounds,i'm waiting for mine in the mail.

  • So is it worth it to get the x-station as a cheap synth, or to just go for software only, knowing how to make good synths in, say, Reason? (Just your take on that issue).

  • very nice man!! Good stuff. Cool to see how trance is made :)

  • When you get yours weapon make a video too, and do some dance music for crying out loud :p

I am thinking of buying an xio synth

  • i wish there were more videos like this, maybe even a whole tv channel! im concidering buying an x-station myself (before i watched this video, now im not so sure! only kidding) would be nice to see some of the parameter changes you were using

  • That's cool, i liked it when you used the arp. Make another video and make another lilttle trance music again
