  • Wonderful ! They are the best !

  • I love those two singing together. Their voices are melting so well. A miracle happens when two singers are in the same league.

  • 1:47 Di Stefano's performance is the best I've heard

  • I thought I had heard all the warren stuff.- First time I've ever heard him do any Puccini outside of the Te Deum from Tosca-This was special- Never realized anything Warren sang from Boheme was recorded-- My fave opera and i'm glad this has come to light[at least to me] - Marcello is not a big role and not diffcult to sing but the power and ease here by warren is obvious! Now I want to hear the Peerce duet sombody mentioned! Thanks for sharing this gem! Beautiful!!

  • That was outstanding! Bravo! What a great pairing of two fantastic voices. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Warren also made a recording of this duet with Jan Peerce in 1946 for RCA Victor. That, too, is VERY good and well worth listening to - as is this recording (actually, as is the whole album of excerpts which it comes from). Thank you VERY much for sharing this with us!!!!

  • Wow. someone commented on a Bjoerling/Merrill duet that Bjoerling "would have to lift his game" when he sang with Warren, because of Warren's power. You can hear the power here. Quite somethin'--wish I'd been around to hear it firsthand!

  • Great song -- a goddamn shame all these haters out there trying to bring down Jewish Opera singer. On chanukka of all occasions. German Opera Singer you should be ashamed of yourself. I don't know how you sleep at night. If he is chinese, then why would he call himself german opera singer. That's like if i called myself white loser.

  • I love Jussi in the first act of Boheme, few came close but in the 3rd act I like Tucker live (1957) and Gigli for the more intense emotion, also act 1 live from the met in 1984 . London on you tube 1982 is a great Shicoff reading of the aria Che Gelida in good color and sound.

  • I was saying on many Schmidt recordings I have stated that they really let him die and caused his death by putting him in that camp with filthy conditions and then not treating him properly when he got TB and had chest pains, 1 day in a hospital and back to the camp to die. The Swiss internment camp was because of the Nazis, they in directly Killed him the rats. Now German opera singer is Asian of Chinese decent / he is American Chinese and a friend of the Jewish people and singers.

  • Pavoman23 Why do you blame German opera singer for anything--- he loves Tucker who was Jewish, Tauber who was half and real name was not Tauber and also look at the names like Frank Valentino who was Amerucan of German decent and here names needed to be more Italian then and Mc Cormack who in Italy went under another name. I am jewish and have fought these Jew haters like on many S

  • Fine studio recording, have many of the duets from it on 45's, little red ones from the 50s. What am I missing here? German made no remark about Warrenoff , his given name he legally changed it to Warren like Tucker did from Ticker, Jan Peerce from Perelmuth, Peters from Peterman, Sills from Silverman, Raisa also Jewish Changed hers and so on Now a days they don't, like Shicoff whose Grandparents are of Russian Jewish backround, less jew hating rats now but German's favorite tenor is Tucker!

  • Still the best! World class cast. They are missed!

  • Yes they are.

  • It is claimed that the Jews constitute approximately 1 percent of the world's population. However and whatever, they are rewarded with 20-25 per cent of all Nobel Prize.

  • You blame me for what? First of all I'm not even a German and even if I was you are being racist assuming all Germans hate Jews. Warren happens to be one of my all time favorite singers and I didn't give you a negative on your comment, looks like 5 other people did though. Your comment got a negative because it was pointless and provocative. Slave name? It's called a stage name, and singers use them so they will have names people can remember.

  • Q delícia !!!O q dizer?Lindo!Maravilhoso!

  • No. 1 tenor and baritone in 20th century. This is GREAT!!!!!!

  • Pippo! Warren! *dies from eargasm*

  • This is so fantastic that they make the music sound different than others who have sung it. It comes to life! WONDERFUL!!!

  • Yes - Please post the entire opera. This is fabulous. Many of the old met recordings are finally being released; hopefully, this will be one of them. What is the date of this recording?

  • Unfortunately the full opera was not recorded; perhaps because in 1951 when LPs were first being released they didn't need to put out a competing recording with the Toscanini one which was to be put on LP. This was just a highlights album with the fantastic cast of Albanese, Di Stefano, Warren, and other top Met singers of the time. In 1952 there was a Met broadcast of the opera with the same principles and Guden (a better Musetta) but Guarrera instead of Warren; not quite as interesting to me!

  • @HERB0833 Uh.. am I supposed to understand what you've written?

  • Also I might add some of these recordings were made in the late 40s and others were made in 1950 and 1951 and just thrown together by RCA as a highlights album.

  • Magnificent beyond words, I wish you or someone else would upload ALL the tracks from the best BOHEME EVER RECORDED, SUNG, AND CONDUCTED: Albanese/di Stefano/Munsel/Warren. all lovingly and enthusiastically supported by the underappreciated Renato Cellini. Listen to the LOVE from all concerned here!

  • Best Boheme duet I've heard in my life.

  • QUE DUETO !!!!!
