  • This is my favourite animal :DD

Are there any still alive today??

  • @Deathlock257 No, this group of animals became extinct at the end of the Permian along with many other creatures.

  • cool song what is it?

  • cool vid i wish these guys were still around

  • Too bad they're not around today...strange that something that was so successful disappeared entirely.

  • @sazji

the trilobites were killed off in the Permian mass extinction, when a neutron star eradicated the planets life with its deadly radiation

  • @infinus5 That is one of the hypothesis, another equally plausible hypothesis is that the Siberian supervulcano went berserk and raised the temperature enough for deep sea methane to rise to the surface, raising temparatures even higher. This is actually supported by geological evidence.

Affcorse the extinction then was so devastating (The earth nearly died), it could have easily been BOTH a supernova and a supervulcano.

  • @Klikoderat

    thanks for correcting me :)

the volcano idea makes more sense than a neutron star. it would be amazing to see these creatures alive in this era.

  • They lived throughout the paleozoic era! Homo sapiens'll extinct more earlier,I'm sure!

  • Amazing...........

  • Trilobites trust. They always assume you're being honest with them. Maybe that is why they get hurt so often. Maybe trilobites should be a little more discerning and a little less naive.

  • "IM FIRIN MY TRILOBITE! BLAAAARGH!"

  • SON TRILOBITES DE VERDAD?

  • vähän siistii :D

  • POKEMON gotta catch them all!

  • @fearg1st The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this video was Kabuto, and Kabutops. xD

  • When I was in the fourth grade, I saw a picture of a trilobite in our science book. I've always thought it'd be a cool pet.

  • @DimebagsZombie

    me too

  • Are most of these fossils painted black? Or is that how they turn out after cleaning?

  • Jeez, I think I shouldn't watch this right before going to bed ;x

  • wow i love this song nice video

  • ive heard that they want to bring those fosils back to life or wanna search those in the deep sea salt lakes

  • Hipster Trilobite: I had eyes before they went mainstream.

  • i found a trilobite thats about a inch long, and its in really good shape, it kinda looks like the one at 0:12, is it worth anything?

  • @fucky0c0uch123 You probably already know by now (your post is 3 months old), but if its anything like that then it can fetch up to something like £500 providing it's in good condition, well prepared with spines and body segments intact and clean, and of a reasonable size. Another factor to take into account is the eyes, as many trilobites had compound eyes which look splendid if undamaged. I have 3 trilobites at home in decent condition (Treveropyge and Phacops) which cost me about £20 each.

  • If trilobites were still alive, we'd think the ones we didn't find delicious were hideous and disgusting. Then we would suck their blood for science.

  • @SceneboyGROWL do not mistake arachnida for aranea. arachnida contains spiders, scorpions, mites, ticks pseudoscorpions, camel spiders, whip scorpions winegaroons and i bet i missed some. OWNED bro!

  • how old are they ? i have a few trilobite fossils found on the edge of lake ontario

  • Interesting choice of song with Trilobites sold on Ebay . Many trilobites from Morroco (2/3 of the usualy poor residents sell fossils) are partialy fake and completly faked from real trilobites that had molds made from them .If they look like smeared tar they are suspect .The real trilobites( that can be jet black) have clean features with incredible detail . Check out my video "intro to trilobites" and click the links to learn how to detect faked ones.

  • Quite the species, having existed almost 100 million years, one wonders what made them go extinct, maybe it was because the females were so ugly...

  • @SceneboyGROWL Oh, but scorpions are related to spiders?!

  • Aren't horse shoe crabs trilobites? :)

  • how do prehistoric things like that stay so well preserved?

  • Feels like you just want to go back i time...

  • Comment removed

  • Ez nagyon érdekes volt!

  • Wow they are so well preserved really cool!

  • SPAAWN MORE OVERLOORDS.

  • @naruxhinatreyy haaha.

  • i wish these critters still roam the seas but too bad they're extinct :X

  • omg they looks like aliens xD

  • trilobites where the first animal to have eyes

  • definitely an amazing creature. although all the animals on this planet is unique and i love them all no matter how nasty and scary they all are. i wish they didnt extinct tho o: . but dam.. we gonna lose a lot unique animals due to global warming... ehe. we should all be tree huggers before the world turns into crap(:

  • @AyeeJojoNguyen I agree!

  • very cool id like to have 1 in my living room for deceration lol

  • These fossils make me want to scream and run away like a little girl.

  • can you say me the name and the artist of this song please

  • Amazing fossil find. Now take it to the Pewter City Museum. The doctor says he can revive it into a Kabuto

  • beautful fossils ,thank you

  • Realy cool.

    But so primitive.

  • That's what's cool about it.

  • trilobites are cool but they scare me as well O.o

  • look like alien....weird thing i have ever seen.

  • @trivuong you think they look alien? try the Anglefish, how that looks alien.

  • trilobo got screwed about 100 million years ago

  • Triops have a striking resemblance of the trilobite

  • great!! best fossils i´ve ever seen

  • In Hal Long Bay have so many of this thing but in VN we called it "Sam" i don't know why my people called it like that ??

  • Touche my good man, but the burden of proof is on your shoulders! There is way more proof supporting evolution other then some book that was written 2000 years ago! I'm still waiting for some hard evidence supporting the existence of a supreme being! Not to say that there isn't one, I just haven't found a sufficient reason to believe in such! I'm not really sure how life got started, but that isn't evolution. That's something totally different, something called panspermia. May THOR bless you!!!

  • These are some of the nicest fossils I've ever seen considering the age of those Trilobites.

  • these creatures beautiful. and great choice of music to go along

  • I have a a video" Introduction to trilobites pt 1 of 2 " . In that videos description you will see articles and pointers on how to spot FAKE trilobites . How nay fakes can you spot in this video ? Morroco has many fakes (fossil trade is 2/3rd of their economy ).

  • hello whats the name of this song i realy want to no i can find it

  • I find trilobites to be especially interesting creatures from the mystery of earth's past.

  • i like the music very dark....but i cant find it :(

  • All the cool animals of the world are dead. And now we're stuck with gay ass animals like bears or birds. The only cool animal we still have that still looks prehistoric is horseshoe crabs. Those things are awesome and look alittle related to some of these.

  • Emus are pretty cool. Rhinos are sweet, Elephants are crazy, There's all kinds of cool lizards, sea slugs are amazing, even cooler then trilobites, Ever seen the vampire squid from hell? Or an angler Fish, or a goblin shark? if you really think there's no cool animals alive still you haven't been looking very hard.

  • hey that was a great video

    really appreciate it! great animals!

  • does trilobites same species as crab ?

  • No they were chelicerates not crustaceans. They had their own seperate class within Chelicerata called Trilobita. Their closest living relatives are horseshoe crabs (which despite their common name are not crabs at all but are chelicerates like scorpions and spiders) Trilobites went completely extinct and did not leave any modern descendants.

  • but thier have same shells as crab? no?

ou yeah i know that horsehoes crab i watched on natgeo their blood uses for medicine and some says it could be eaten and taste like crab

  • They actually do have modern descendents, only not as complex and very endangered, though they are still around, just not all species.

  • the descendant is called triops longocatus although i dont believe in evolution so i should just say relative, but w/e

  • @zepeterinma Its never too late to educate yourself , your computer and a desire to learn + time commitmeant is all you need . You can out grow indoctrination . Compare and contrast YEC with mainsteam science on every point .

  • thats not the point i was making though, i understand evolution i just dont believe in it. what i was saying is a response to someone who said all the cool animals are gone. i said trilobites have a relative called triops longocattus.

  • @zepeterinma So I guess your one of those guys that believe in micro but not macro evolution? I bet you also have a problem with the word "theory" too. But that's cool, because I have a hard time believing in creationism and blind faith! So we have something in common, you and I. Well besides that I believe in reality and you believe in a celestial dictator. How does it feel knowing that a sky demon is criticizing your every move, with the threat of hell fire ever looming?

  • @Tegulicious Thats a bit stereotypical :[

I dont believe that only micro evolution exists, i know that wolves evolved into dogs, and many types of new species have arose, what i am saying is that no matter how much time passes, there is a limit to how much things can change. The comment with Hell as a punishment, even though im a creationist, i dont believe that God would send anyone to hell if they are good people. Not much of a threat. I have many athiestic friends, they are all good people.

  • @Tegulicious Don't say you believe in reality, Life has never arose from non-life, It doesn't happen. I am very open minded, if you give me Proof of life by a chemical reaction from a creditable source, I will gladly believe you. Otherwise, you yourself are believing in "blind faith." I can disprove evolution with Facts, Can you disprove God? No, and i don't believe that good people go to hell, even if they are athiests. I also believe that the church is corrupted, don't make their words mine.

  • @Atomicskull i bet they doesn't belong to chelicerata, just into arachnomorpha, and have their own branch of trilobita, as a sister branch to chelicerata. and they, just on a side note, were really thought to belong into mandibulata - close to crustaceans - at first.

  • @Atomicskull thats funny, i just watched a video called trillobite going beserk...

  • @Atomicskull No, they weren't chelicerates, they were in a class all their own.

  • @aronchai you are right they are a class of their own. They're a subphylum under the

Phylum Arthropoda, along with the Subphylums Chelicerata, Crustacea, Myriapoda and Hexapoda

  • @Atomicskull Err... how come i went to the beach went rock lifting 4 crabs n saw one of these?

  • @Atomicskull What about the trilobite beetle? Are they related?

  • @Atomicskull That's cool, but I thought scorpions, and spiders were archnids? :)

  • @Atomicskull This looks pretty close though! /watch?v=C7GbMlJgaas&feature=related

Don't worry, I'm not entirely stupid, I know the difference between insect and trilobite. These just look similar.

  • @Atomicskull Trilobites are actually in a class all their own called Trilobita, and Horseshoe craps are actually NOT their closest relative. Scientists have their own opinions on what living species today is closest to trilobites because the span of trilobite history is so large and varying. However extinct there currently ARE animals that are extremely similar to them such as horseshoe crabs and triops. In my opinion triops are the closest living relative to trilobites.

  • @Atomicskull

    but they look like centipedes

  • @Atomicskull what about those things the "Trilobite Beatles" They look almost exactly alike.

  • @GarlandFraser Those are insects that merely resemble them superficially.

  • they tasted like crab

  • "Many are fakes" is quite the understatement. All that appear in this video seem to be completely, or at least partially, forged.

  • In my video description there are articles how to spot forgeries ."Introduction to Trilobites pt .1 of 2"

  • Morroco has 1/3rd of its poor population making a living selling fossils .There is a big underground fake fossil trade there .Real fossils often show translucent crystaline properties .

  • Nice collection , I fear many of these are reproductions .Its a common problem to have duplicates sold for prices of the real thing .The give away clues are jet black and totally uniform non opaqueness .

  • nice!

  • Not bad, not bad ^_^.
