I love both Slayer and Metallica and I don't like comparing them two but I think that Dave is a better drummer than Lars - technically. Altho the double bass parts in the Metallica songs feels so smart and well written. Not saying that slayer has too much of double bass - I mean who can't stop headbanging to war ensemble or the fill in angel of death. Or raining blood - awww yeeeah. I just can't understand why there's war between the fans.

When it comes to music, I take Lars over Dave anyday, he knows how to compliment a song with his drumming, Dave knows how to make himself look good by playing a drumsolo every song. Also, dont bash Lars for not doing everything live that he does in the studio, there's no thrash band out there that tours as much as Metallica and that is a fact. If you gave Lars some rest and if he didnt have to play a 2-3 hour show every other day, im sure he will be AFJA good

Finally in 1986 with Reign in blood they changed sound... really great album.. but the beginning of real thrash metal (and so death metal) starts with this song.. 1984 (not Venom or Slayer or what you want...) 1984.. respect for them.

These 50 year old guys can perform and sing songs written literally 30 years ago and still pull it off. Metallica is one of the few bands that can, and any fan should RESPECT that.
