I've been out of detecting since late 80's early 90's. The Garretts back then were super well designed but not very good past 6 inches in rich soil. Still the same ? I mean this respectfully,,,but your search sweep is just not well rehearsed. Slow down and no up arc at the ends. Cheers
swing your coil slower in the field and you wont miss anything. I see too many people speed walking and swinging their coil like an empty hookers purse. Slow down, think happy thoughts and swing slow, and overlap your passes. Just wait for the beep, don't go rushing looking for it.
@johouse05 hey can you or anyone tell me how much deeper the 2500 detects under normal use no fancy additions than the 250 i cant find any figures any where only comments like much deeper or it depends ect all i would like to know is if a 250 detects a say coin max 8 inches what would the 2500 detect same coin at cheers anyone PLEASE
Very nice test, I had lost my faith in Garrett after getting the crappy 'Predator 2' as my 1st detector back in 2000, but the GTI 2500 seems like a winner to me :). I currently have the Explorer 2 from Minelab and love it.

tomspeed2005 4 months ago
@tomspeed2005 This all depends on the size & orientation of the object you are detecting.

I have a Garrett 2000 and no one knows anything about them. Looks just like the 2500 though.
