Man, it is heartbreaking watching these guys slowly die off. Only 36 men of Easy remain. And of that, only a couple from toccoa (hope I spelled that right). I really hope these guys stick around longer so that I can hear more of their story. It seems like the band of brothers series was entirely too elaborate and gory with their plot. These guys are the real thing.
Bill, i want to thank You for what you did and the rest of your brothers back in those days. Without your sacrifice war could end completely different. I'm from Poland, i'm 24 and i have BIG respect for all WWII veterans, but i feel sorry becouse many of today young people don't even know the basics facts about WWII like D-day,Market Garden, Auschwitz ,defending Warsaw or Bastogne and many others. But there are olso many people who will pass your history. Wish You all best greetings from Poland
(cont) even today, I have old family members and those of friends' who are still alive today, who lived through the Japanese invasion & occupation of the Marianas Islands (like Guam, Saipan, & Palau) who vividly remember what horrors & torture the Japanese soldiers subjected them to. So for me, & other islanders like me, who have or are currently still serving in the US military, freedom has a lot more meaning to us (IMO anyway) because 66 years ago, the US Marines gave us our freedom back.
Thanks for posting. I love Wild Bill & the men of Easy Co. I'm a Navy veteran, and Army wife. While I respect all the men (and women) who have fought for the country, I have the utmost respect for the men who bravely served in WWII in particular. You see, I'm of Pacific Islander descent. My family hails from Palau (I was born there as well, then raised on the island of Guam) where the battle of Peleliu took place as mentioned in the miniseries, the Pacific.

Thank you for your comments. I agree, whether it was the European theatre or the Pacific, I am grateful for my freedom.
