trumbone isn't really hard to play. They just dont need to hit the high notes as often. They support the band. well I play trumpet, but I know people who play trumbone and some if the peices dont need the high notes, but they can still hit them.
I won't talk about any instrument I don't play fluently. So let's just talk about the French Horn player. You have the potential, you just need to take your instrument home more, and practice the solo. Practice lips slurs or tounging, so that when you have a note on with the same valving, you can make sure you can hit that note properly.
In general, this song doesn't sound like it had enough practice before it was performed. But there are definetly good Aspects.
@Belfews I play Bari but i do know french horn is a very hard isntrument to conquer. Its extremly easy to hit the wrong note. But i agree with your critique.
This song is extremely fun to play! it gets you excited.
I remember sitting next to the (high school) first trumpets when I was sixth grade at our district concert (our district is tiny). I was completely in awe of them. When I was a freshman in high school, all of the senior band members demanded that we play this again and we did! This was so much fun.
i forward all the way to obeo solo..... im surprise that people actually praise his or her playing... aniway... good job although u guys did lots of mistake that doesnt seem to be trying to be creative on the piece..train more... im sure u guys can do it one day:)
I played this piece, not "song"( because no one is singing) back in 2003 I was in the percussion section. .at Clarkston High School, Georgia. so my opinion its about percussion-- the vibe needs to be a little softer especially at the end of each part,, standing cymbal needs to be louder. and hit the tubr bells a little harder.. just a bit not a whole lot, snare a little bit off tempo. and xylophone are you using hard mallets? you can barely hear it
Snare drum needs to count, french horn watch your tone as well as the soloist trombone....but over all i thought the song was played very well, and the oboe solo sounded really nice.
The french horn soloist has really got some problems. He keeps hovering on random notes and the clarinets and oboes are squeaking which makes the piece sound bad. The deummer also should work on his roles there very sloppy and out of control. Maybe its the recording quality.
my band is playing this now.. i have to do that trombone solo and im still not that good at it=x i have to work on it now that ik how it really sounds.
this sucks it isnt even at tempo and the french horn solo was horrific but it had some nice parts but all together you guys need a lot of work but u do have potencial
I love the part at 2:25! I juts dont like the key its in. Its harder then hell to play that on basssoon with out slowign it down and practicing it. I sightred it perfect on Alto clarinet(part doubles second alto sax) but sucked when I tried the same part on Bb clarinet.
That second + Third horn solo was awesome.... I play french horn and its kinda hard not to crack different notes.. :/

my band is playing this song right now to perform at district and then hopefully state.
This could use a lot of work.
The tempo was to fast at some parts.
The french horn solo was really bad, but our french horn player isnt that good either but he can do that solo really well.
