Really tough to do a cover of a Stevie Wonder tune, but she pulls it off because her voice is so different. She is so much better in the studio than live, and that is why she didn't make it farther in Idol. Some of her live performances bordered on bad, but that doesn't take away how interesting and good she is.
Megan Joy's voice is the kind that will suit only some people. Its so diverse; so unique and different, that I have fallen in love with all of her music. If you dislike her to that degree, it is simply because you have a different music taste; your tone deaf to her amazing ability because you have chosen to be, not because she is a bad singer. I don't think Megan was so good on stage. But in the studio she rocks - great voice, great sound. Meant to be recorded. I think stage fright and silliness did her in, not missing her son.

If you do any thing out side the box on that show they don't really appriciate it... but what can you say it is Ameran Idol.... a lot of people don't get her voice, it just depends on your taste I guess, I think with some voice coaching and room to grow she would record some cool stuff...I hope so.
She's probably influenced by jazz artists like Ella Fitz. or perhaps Amy Winehouse. I could imagine her making those kinds of records and it will sell big.
Her problem is that she is never allowed to be relaxed enough to do exactly what she is doing here because the judges and the audience are always pressuring her to show more vocals and sing big songs with big notes, but that is not her style so she over sings a lot of time except the week when she was sick where she was forced to sing more relaxed and that's why the judges liked it...they need to stop pressuring her so she could have more self-confidence. I like her uniqueness its refreshing

I don't think Megan was so good on stage. But in the studio she rocks - great voice, great sound. Meant to be recorded. I think stage fright and silliness did her in, not missing her son.

Man, she is such a great recording artist... I was sad when she left. But she chose her kid over the show, and she seems like an awesome person to hang out with.
Even though her live performances weren't as good, I still love to listen to the studio recordings. I hope she goes far. This is coming from a die-hard Adam fan. True fans don't put down all the other contestants by going to their videos, muting it, and insulting it *cough*00JTM*cough*

Dude yeah I agree... or any 311 songs.. you know she would have been bitched at by Simon... If you do any thing out side the box on that show they don't really appriciate it... but what can you say it is Ameran Idol.... a lot of people don't get her voice, it just depends on your taste I guess, I think with some voice coaching and room to grow she would record some cool stuff...I hope so.

She doesn't suck, she's actually pretty good.
She's probably influenced by jazz artists like Ella Fitz. or perhaps Amy Winehouse. I could imagine her making those kinds of records and it will sell big.

Her problem is that she is never allowed to be relaxed enough to do exactly what she is doing here because the judges and the audience are always pressuring her to show more vocals and sing big songs with big notes, but that is not her style so she over sings a lot of time except the week when she was sick where she was forced to sing more relaxed and that's why the judges liked it...they need to stop pressuring her so she could have more self-confidence. I like her uniqueness its refreshing
