@gmccord1970 I should add there's also some misinterpretation of what folks involved in the film mentioned about either an early script draft or a deleted scene. Not that it's his son but that he took him as a kid after wasting his family. SOmething like that. The fact that the kid is "pretty" and being led around on a leash should pretty clearly show the sexual relationship intended. Might also be disbelief that a gay tough guy would be shown in '81 without calling it out or making light of it.

Nothing against Gary, but I think Vernon was better suited for the Mr. Joshua part and, like in Commando, it wouldn't have been all that hard explaining an Australian being in a US Special Forces unit
