Cool to hear this.. I was at one of these two shows... can't remember a single note of any of it, lol.. ate an 1/8 oz of shrooms and lost my friends.. I do remember being down on the field though..

Yes i was one of the lucky bastards that saw the clash at shae and ill tell you it changed my life i was a fan of the clash ever since i saw them on fridays back in 79 but i never expected the clash to smoke the Who the who were ok but from the first stroke of london calling
holy whats with everyone being a music critic on youtube, this song is amazing, this version is great. so everyone can stop thinking they work for rolling stone magazine
i also prefer the original london calling version to this one, however there is a live version somewhere that i heard which sounds better than the original imo, gotta have a look for it :)
Nah, the original London Calling version still has it. Mick's vocal contribution on this was better by Joe on the album and guitars a bit scratchy here. And I'm sorry to say it, but Terry Chimes' drumming lacks Topper's finesse in the rythm section. To the discerning Clash listener, you can hear they've lost a lot of the Clash -soul and Joe new it; which was why they split soon after with Joe wanted to get back to basics. The decision to get rid of Mick was ludicrousy, as Joe realised too late.
This is really good, I love this song, but there were a few things that always bothered me about the LP and later MP3 realease of this song. This version is very good, the bass is much more noticible and it's a great bassline. I'm still not sure whether I like this or the Stroke's cover better.
When is the dvd of this whole concert going to be avaliable?
