I was a Legislative Assistant to a Republican congressman during the early stages of the Vietnam War, and i did an analysis of the war for him. Two of the five reasons why it was a good idea (Tonkin Gulf Resolution, Domino Theory) were false or lies. I opposed that war ; I oppose the Iraq War, for the same reasons - lies.

John McCain's judgment is suspect. The Senate reprimanded him for "poor judgment" in the savings and loan scandal, and his judgment on the Iraq War was faulty, unlike Obama's, who opposed the war. Obama is very intelligent, charismatic, and will surround himself with smart, experienced advisors. I have met him, and I was very impressed. He will be a pragmatist, not an ideologue, and is a tough guy, tough enough to make the difficult decisions. Bill O'Reilly saw it when he interviewed Obama.
