drumming doesn't always have to be about speed or hundreds of fills, sometimes it's about what suits the song. FT is a perfectionist so I doubt he'd have the drummer in the band if he didn't like it

You're an idiot. Drumming does not always have to be fast or a big showy part of the song. Sometimes it is just the backdrop and this song is great.
