This was a great video. I miss the the rooster and hen my grandparents and I use to have. We had them for a few months, and we loved them, they loved us, and they were growing on us. But then, 2 city women came and told us we had to get rid of them or we would have to pay thousands of dollars in fines, which we couldn't afford. Right now they live with some people related to one of my family members. They have experience with chickens and animals, and would not eat them or anything.

This was great, had a good chuckle. I live in the suburbs and have 3 chickens who roam around my property to the delight of all the neighbours, many people bring there kids down just to have a look at them. I often hear people pass and call out to the chickens(they have given them names) and the chickens come running!! Its funny to see!! I love having chickens as pets much better than cats!!

hey,love it .....and nice names for them.....which brings me to type this:recently i found a young rooster in my yard,he didnt runwhen i approached it which was wierd but then i noticed it was blind, my father and godfather told me it has pox and told me i should put lemons in the area where the eyes must be so it wuld heal (it sounds wrong but its more effective than the medicine) ,i wish to name it but i dont know what name to put it :help me name it !!!!

Only a swab of the eyes from a vet would know for sure if it is pox. I've never had that with my domestic birds but have read that saline (like for contact lenses) can be gently swapped on the eyes, or colloidal silver solution. I would not use lemons, that is acidic and would burn. It could also be something called canker. Vitamin A and antibiotics from the vet would help as well.

I'd call him Bocelli, since roosters like to sing, and well... you know..

Havent paid attention to my other breeds here on the farm, but each night my americanas fly about 13 feet up to roost in the rafters of the chicken house. Sometimes I even find my cochin banty hens up there, so they can fly if they want to. Just not long distance like my ducks or wild turkeys.
