At best, your video is a regurgitation of the old argument of "Well, it'll work NEXT time" -- the idea being that, no matter how badly this latest given attempt at a Communist utopia has failed -- no matter the cost in lives, wealth, lost opportunities, etc. -- next time you'll do it better, you'll try harder, you'll want it more, and by that virtue alone, you'll succeed. It never occurs to you to question that maybe the whole idea of pursuing Communism was wrong in the first place.
So your argument is that under Communism, all class distinctions and competition between men will disappear? So how does that work in the real world? Even a rudimentary knowledge of biology and zoology will tell you that as a primate, Man has an innate and well-developed sense of social structure that no amount of Marxist dogma or rhetoric is going to suppress. We are biologically driven to compete with each other, and you simply cannot dictate absolute equality.
"Absolute monarchies were replaced by democracies". Like in France, where they guillotined a King with one hand and crowned an Emperor with the other? Yeah, democracy worked out REAL well in France, didn't it?
The feudal system actually collapsed with the plagues -- up to that point, you literally had human lives to spare and to waste. Afterwards, the scarcity of skilled labor led to the emergence and growth of the middle class, mostly artisans, craftsmen, and other indispensible skills. The skills they possessed allowed them to earn wealth and enjoy a lifestyle previously unavailable except to the very few at the top.
"In prehistoric times man lived in harmony." Ah, the noble savage -- it was B.S. when it was first proposed, and it's still B.S. today. "There was no need for government." Depends on your definition of government. Even tribes today "govern" at the family or village level. "People cooperated in order to survive." What, like we do today, and have done for centuries?
Democracy isn't the road to socialism, don't be so pessimistic. Democracy just means everyone has a say in the government, it doesn't mean the government has control over every aspect of our lives and possessions. Luckily in a constitutional democracy socialism is impossible, so it's not even true.
Share the wealth, help me to fund one year of study. I'm asking 13000 people to donate just £1 - much less than a coffee, to help me in an opportunity that I've earned through hard work but cannot afford with all of my tax-paying family's savings put together. And this: "The purposeless massacres perpetrated since the June and October events, the tedious offering of sacrifices since February and March, the very cannibalism of the counterrevolution will convince the nations that there is only one way in which the murderous death agonies of the old society and the bloody birth throes of the new society can be shortened, simplified and concentrated, and that way is revolutionary terror."
Marxism made simple: “Thus we find every tyrant backed by a Jew, as is every Pope by a Jesuit. In truth, the cravings of oppressors would be hopeless, and the practicability of war out of the question, if there were not an army of Jesuits to smother thought and a handful of Jews to ransack pockets.”
- Karl Marx
(“The Russian Loan,” New York Daily Tribune, January 4, 1856)
“By destroying the peasant economy and driving the peasant from the country to the town, the famine creates a proletariat . . . Furthermore the famine can and should be a progressive factor not only economically. It will force the peasant to reflect on the bases of the capitalist system . . . Psychologically all this talk about feeding the starving and so on essentially reflects the usual sugary sentimentality of our intelligentsia.”
Yeah, the feudal system keeps the king in control....before that he willfully gave up power.Oh,that's right he had everyone that dare disobey him murdered.Knucklehead.
Good point. Before private land ownership people were'nt greedy....which is how the 10 commandments came about,no wars were waged & slavery was non-existent? You are truly a knucklehead.
people cooperated to survive..like with the Spartans?like with the Romans? Or do you mean to say they submitted & were enslaved rather than slaughtered?Knucklehead.
Yeah,no private ownership in prehistoric times but if you went in another neantherdals cave without his permission he beat you to death with a club.Really good point knucklehead.
SOME POOR WRETCHED COMMUNIST STILL IS GOING TO HAVE TO CLEAN PUBLIC TOILETS, OR DO COMMUNIST NOT SHIT? I WOULD IMAGINE COMMUNAL TOILETS WOULD BECOME ESPECIALLY DISCUSTING, IF YOU DID'NT OWN THE TOILET YOU WERE CRAPPING IN THAN WHY NOT SPRAY DIARRHEA ALL OVER THE BOWL?I'M GLAD THERE IS NOT SOME FUCKING COMMUNIST COMMITY WHO WILL DECIDE IF ITS MY LOT IN LIFE TO SPEND MY ENTIRE LIFE CLEANING TOILETS. YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO WORK, EQUALITY IS A GIGANITC LIE.
@dkangel8989 Umm.. Yes it is. Marxism IS Communism. Communism is misunderstood by the West and bastardized in the East but Marx was in fact advocating communism. Ffs he wrote several books on the subject.
But i agreed with SemperBeer its in our nature (as well as any animal that lives on this earth) to fight over land and food and have some kind of hierarchy.
I don't agree that 'ownership' is a product of greed, but rather a product of neccessity and responcibility. Ownership, like any claim, can be used or abused. Marx hated Democracy. So, how do Communists make social/political decisions? Who votes? Or, if not by 'vote', how??
i am surprised no one pointed this out but the french revolution happened in 1789 not 1787 and democracies have never existed, even now democracies don't exist,"democratic"countries are actually republics, they are called democracies because the government works through representatives of the people.democracy means people will rule, republic means country will be ruled by law through a constitution and will be governed by representatives of the people
I have an idea. Let's get thousands of people to camp out in a park in a large city, throw out all laws, and see what kind of system develops. Will we get peace, love, and cooperation or crime, hate, and bickering?
No, you uneducated dumbass. In prehistoric times, it wasn't all love and harmony. Tribes fought for land, the best hunting grounds and access to water.
Archaeological evidence is replete with examples of warring tribes, mass slaughters and warfare in general. The fact that you try to portray it as some utopia shows you are an idiot. Don't ever post here again.
A moneyless, classless, stateless communities of humanity sharing the Earth in cooperation harmony and wisdom for our common needs and well being. The market system of artificial scarcity and the wage slavery of the working class is the historic process of private property relationship of alienation, exploitation and suffering of our common humanity. A majority democratic movement of no leaders no followers to transcend the CLASS RULE.
At High School No. 1 in Pyongyang, a girl brags to her teacher about the cat she's got at home: "Our cat has just given birth to seven kittens. All of them just stick close to their mother, they feel really comfortable, and sleep all the time. They're all true communists." A few days later, the teacher asks the girl: "Are the communist kittens at home growing up nicely?" The girl says: "Comrade teacher, big trouble! They've all opened their eyes, and they've all renounced communism!"
@michaelwuzthere by the way this band is punk.. which makes sense... most punks are either anarchist or socialist.. but seriously, death metal? have you spent your life under a rock?
6) The monarchies weren't replaced by democracies controlled by the bourgeois. And feudalism didn't exist anymore. Furthermore, capitalism and monarchy coexisted already.
7) Marx doesn't hate democracy, only the representative one.
8) The revolution of 1917 was led by bourgeois (like Lenin)
@jeebyboucky Good show, but be forewarned: All I did was make the statement you put forth as point #1 and I received all kinds of hateful comments. Somebody wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt and listening to John Lennon on their iPod is probably plotting your death even now.
5) The middle classes didn't revolt in the 1700's, but only effectively in the 1800s, and your picture is 'La liberté guidant le peuple', and represents 'Les trois glorieuses', republican revolution of 1830, your dates don't match at all. Plus, the French revolution is in 1789, not 1787. (the flag wasn't even that one shown in the picture in 1789 moron)
4) The bourgeoisie never claimed a say in the running of a country, it is simply a fact that those better off are in most cases those with the higher education and a bigger intelligence (which is why they were able to become rich in the first place)
3) This form of government didn't survive until the industrial revolution, but until the 16th-18th century, where people as the baron of Montesquieu and John Locke pleaded for a separation of the powers, which was followed in the 18th century by a consitutional monarchy (like in France for example)
1) In prehostoric times men did not live in peace, that's why the concept of 'Social Contract' was invented (see Jean-Jasques Rousseau)
2) The feudal system was created in order to be able to protect the system and its people from the barbarian occupations, a satellite system was to be created where power was divided, only to the benefit of the greater good.
Contrary to what this video and Carl Marx said there has always been a type of government, it is seen in nature. Take our nearest relative the apes. Every ape community or herd has a designated leader. That leader is usually the oldest of the apes. Another example is dogs and cats they have pack leaders. Pick any animal species and see for yourself. Communism is a dream that is impractical and against nature. It feels evil because it is unnatural. Humans need structure, it is in our DNA.
Well not just that but also the oligarchic tendencies of ALL organizations as Robert Michels would say. Large organizations simply can't function without a division of labor and placing the ultimate decision making powers in the hands of the few. The difference between a pack of apes however and modern government is that in small groups an individual at least has the ability to influence the leader. No one individual has that capability now.
@duckdown1993 The moment people start believing that they can't influence their leaders is the day liberty dies. Look at the history of Germany, Russia, and China. Everywhere when people the majority of people had your attitude freedom was lost. Just because the government is not listening does not mean you give up or shut up, or shout loader. You just keep at them and at them till they give in. That is how a democratic republic works. Eventually they will listen. Never give up!
The Nazis were a minority in Germany, the Bolsheviks were a minority in Russia, the Maoists were a minority in China. I don't know what that was supposed to prove but you're dead wrong on all accounts. Either way the INDIVIDUAL has no power today. You might be able to join some mass movement and obtain some modified version of your personal goals in that manner, but individuals have no power. Its plain as day. What power does on person have in a nation of 300,000,000?
@duckdown1993 Why do you think that O'Reilly, Hannity, and AlfonZo Rachel piss off so many liberals (communists). It's because they never give up on trying to get the truth out for all to see. Their job is not to convince you that their way is the only way. Their job is to give you the facts and to state their opinion on what the facts mean. It's the left wing media that constantly reports opinion as facts while ignoring the real facts. Despite what MSNBC said your voice counts!
Psh, so we get the Republicans in offince instead of the Democrats and trade Big Government for Big Business...what victory is that for the average person?
@duckdown1993 It would bring Jobs and more income for your family, more money to help make your dreams to come true. Capitalism is the means for opportunity. Smaller government means more freedom. No more big brother telling you "you can't do that to your property without a license or written permission." Did you know that 30 years ago a kid could have a lemonade stand any time he or she wanted? Today that kid's parents need a license to sell lemonade.
You might slightly reduce the size of government but MOST regulations are just a necessary part of doing business in a highly interconnected world. If you got rid of most of the regulations that exist the current system would go spiraling out of control. Moot point anyways - we already HAVE enough material wealth. Where is the party out there that champions freedom? Where's the party that wants to shake off our bonds from the chains of ALL large organizations?
@duckdown1993 Keep telling yourself that & you will always be a slave to big government. I don't look at parties & neither should you. Our country was founded on individuals working together not parties. When people put their faith in one party hell breaks loose. The Nazis were a political party not an army for Hitler. Hitler was a political leader not a dictator. Communist party of Russia was and is a political party. These are examples of what happens when people don't think.
Thats the thing, once millions of people started throwing their autonomy away into huge organizations like nations and countries freedom was essentially lost. I'd be perfectly comfortable doing away with the whole system in its entirety. My only point is that you wont get there through de-regulation. Most government regulation HAS to exist in order for a complex society to function. I'd be happy to get rid of our complex world and all that entails, but would YOU?!?!?!?
@duckdown1993 You are soooo lost! How old are you 15, 20, 25? There has always been organizations. There are big governments and small governments. Nations and countries are not organizations they are borders! "Most government regulation HAS to exist in order for a complex society to function." So that whole wild west thing where simple small laws and next to no regulations thing never happened even though it's in the history books? You don't know your history kid.
@duckdown1993 I'm not focusing on "The World" Let the other countries solve their own problems for a change. I'm talking about America ONLY America! We need smaller government lower taxes, less regulations, anti law suits laws, and the freedom from self interest groups.
@jeebyboucky That's my point. We need to put preasure on all branches of the government to stop giving money to those groups. We don't need them to run our lives. We can run our own lives.
@duckdown1993 Don't vote for the party! Vote for the person who stands for freedom & democracy. World Wide Society worked for decades before big Government Modern Tech only makes it go faster. "It's the same old song and dance; it’s just a different tune." (Maurice Hurley). "we already HAVE enough material wealth” Really then how do you explain our deficit? If you don’t want your material wealth then give it to someone who needs it, but don’t force others to give up their wealth.
Yes we've seen communism. Without exception everyone who adopts it has to stop the people escaping it. Those the rulers don't kill that is. Communism has killed more people than religion, no mean feat. I cannot believe anyone still believes in this evil doctrine.
@KingLocoMC: Then Marx was the chief & precursor of all "judenrat kapos." In point of fact, Marx OPENLY advocated the literal extermination of entire races as backwards & having what he says is an intrinsic instinctive reactionary nature. He wanted to whole great swaths of humanity annihilated. One of the people he wanted to see exterminated was the Russian people. The irony is incredible. There is a website called "Marx and Friends, where all his original quotes in German are provided.
@KingLocoMC: & what is a factoid like that supposed to prove. There are Jews who are Holocaust deniers. Jews who want to see Israel destroyed. Some people advocate human extinction. Anyone who advocates the extinction of the human race self evidently hates humanity. That they are also human is only an ironic absurdity. In Judenfrage, Marx advocated the end of a a Jewish people. Anyone who thinks Jews should cease to exist obvioulsy hates Jews.
@KingLocoMC: They are called books. You 'toke" them w/ your eyes, It is known on the street as "reading." Go find a version of Judenfrage, where Marx specifically says Jews only care about money. He routinely used the word "nigger" & compared a man w/ some African ancestry to a baboon. He advocated the extermination of the Russian as a backwards degenerate race. Ironic in light of what the Marxist did to Russia. Quit acting like a vulgar ignoramous.
@OldLeftie - Prehistoric is actually defined as "before written history" which came into existence around 3000 BC. The Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age all predate written history and we know about those times in great detail. So, you obviously don't know what you are talking about, but if you want more education just let me know. I will be happy to keep schooling you.
COMMUNIST Ideology is a western invention. Conceived by Karl Marx, who was harbored by the BRITISH in Great Windmill Street,Soho,London. Adopted by Lenin for USSR, and copied by China.
"Adopting communist ideology from the west is the only copy-crime the Chinese had committed, with much regrets".
...and the quotation is in response to branding China on copy-crime. Should I remind you the saying, "What you see in the west , came from the east" Not by me, but I can name the person from the west who said this.
@SWRuzzante While I agree with you in part, I cannot agree that Che's racism should not be a topic of discussion, because the issue of racism was a current topic at the time of his activism.
Private ownership of land did NOT lead to the creation of classes. The existence of classes is due to spiritual and religious reasons. Julius Evola said so therefore it must be true.
@dachicagoan no dickhead, thats not what the video says, under marxism there is theoretically no class struggle because there is no class divide. lenin took it one step further by oppressing people as a dictator. communism is a corruption of marxism, this is where the class struggle occurs.
@dachicagoan in fact, most of them did at one point or another. Go back to school and learn something before you shoot your mouth off. Have you any idea what it was like for the vast majority of communists to have to live through the deprivation that the West caused the USSR from 1917 through the beginning of WW II because they actually supported Hitler?
@OldLeftie Yeah, millions of people starved to death in the Ukraine (1932-1933) because of the west. Red cross trucks were not even allowed to enter to help. Yeah, it's all the west's fault. I bet you've never lived in a communist country before, but you should so you can see what waiting in a breadline feels like. Just because you took some political science courses doesn't mean you know what the truest form of politics is.
@dachicagoan you have no Idea where I've lived and what I've done, and all you would do if I told you is use that information to make some other slanderous statement about me. Just as you have no idea about me, you have no understanding of the context of the Ukraine situation. But I would guess from your comment that you have sympathy for them. Do you also have sympathy for the Jews that those Ukrainians you so value murdered before, during and after the period you mourn?
@OldLeftie save it, I know your type. People like you want to look edgy so you ally yourself with the leftist movement, I've seen people like you all over campuses. The same thing happens in left wing countries with people allying themselves with the rightist movement. It's all about wanting to be different and getting attention they never got from home.
@dachicagoan right, nice way of avoiding an answer to the question. Fact is, you are a Ukrainian, right? and your relatives were "persecuted" by the Soviets, right? But those same relatives had no problem when Jews were murdered before the Soviets took power, right? And maybe even afterward, when they collaborated with the Nazis, right?
and fyi, my grandfather was a Menshevik, so I have my own take on the situation. One thing for sure, you don't know *my* type.
@noprofitmaximierung interesting that you bring that up, just as many chinesee died while Mao ruled with his "Great Leap Forward" plan. Also Stalin didn't have a good record feeding Ukrainians - but that was genocide by famine. You might want to do a little studying before you begin equating capitalism with hunger.
@dachicagoan Stalin? Mao? No i am not very much into State CAPITALISTS. (you can read about Lenin's Soviet "State Capitalism" in Lenin Work's Volume 27 at marxistinternetarchive. org) In the Great Leap forward, a lot of people were saved by the state medical care, times of transition are always hard, look what happened when the Soviet Union became free market capitalist, millions died during that time and life expectancy went down 10 years after the USSR's fall. Capitalism is systemic massmurder
@taow222328 of course, you're wrong. Communism is a stage of human development. The Chinese know that very well. I see that you claim to be Chinese, and about 40 years old. Nice to have youtube to quoute yourself in. Do you still live in China?
@OldLeftie With respect to your view. The point that I have been trying to make is responding to the western world, particularly UK and America, branding communism on China. I reminded them where communism came from. If anyone been to China, they will agree the only thing communist about China nowadays is the flag that they are flying. The country has long taking on a capitalist path. Check out what Jim Roger and Dr.MArtin Jacques have to say about China.
@taow222328 China has definitely adopted capitalism in economic policies and their economy prospered. However, China still has a Big Brother style government.
@ekpurdy As someone who been there to experienced some China(mainland) way of life. There are few points I observed, (1) the commie-demo/capitalist transition takes time and fine tune for a big country like China. It is a chaos for China to transform itself within a blink like Soviet. We all should be so glad that the Chinese are making positive transitional progress. And also setting fine example in transformation among the remaining commie countries. Thumbs up ?
@taow222328 I agree that it is quite big-brother. To some positive extend,I reckon that it is the right medication for China's growth at this point in time. However, I do hope that more decisions can be made by the people. And I already seeing that in my lifetime.
@OldLeftie ...and the quotation is in response to branding China on copy-crime. Should I remind you the saying, "What you see in the west , came from the east" Not by me, but I can name the person from the west who said this.
Pure democracy is the road to socialism. That's why you create Democracy on the base level with a Representative Repiublic at the top that can make now economic decisions and is kept out of the economy completely.
@SWRuzzante then you hold up the idea that "Democracy" is something humane and disireable.. the will of the masses is almost always to press the minority. It was the US Democrats that gave us slavery of blacks, it took the Republicans to get rid of it. You cant trust the mindless herd, they never make the best decisions. Its always the superior individual and his skills that overcomes the chains of the masses.
@SWRuzzante Sumer and all that werent Democracies, they were Monarchies with legal codes, not peaceful either, brutal. ..and Che was a coward. He told his men to fight to the last round of ammo and fight to the last man but when slightly wounded he surrendered with two loaded weapons on him. "Dont Kill me Im Che! Im worth more to you alive than dead" hahahhah what a pussy. Handed out death to others but couldnt accept it when it was handed out to him. typical.
@SWRuzzante Small notice, prehistoric society meant not only far away Sumerian and so on, but very many other still living tribes, which we can see and study. Such as some Polynesian, Amazonian, African and Polar tribes.
Marx was a fool. He didnt know anyone like me,. without a government to keep guys like me in check, the rest of you would all be defenseless. I would run, buck-fucking-wild! Id be making AKs in my garage and training my army of Knights to take over and sooner or later youd all be working for me, just like back in the Middel ages. Marx thought the stone age was a time of peace, hahaha Most human skeletons found from back then were murdered and cooked by other humans! What a sucker!
@OldLeftie I hand out death to others and accept my own death when its handed out to me with equal indifference. Unlike your cowardly hero Che. He ordered his men to fight to the death but when slightly wounded tried to run, screaming "Dont shoot me, Im Che. Im worth more to you alive than dead!" ahhaha He had two loaded weapons on him, he asked his men to do what he wasnt man enough to do himself.
It is not possible to argue that each individual should sacrifice for the whole of society, and yet expect each individual to know what "society's good" consists of, without having a dictator to tell them.
CORRECTION: In prehistoric times individuals were ruled by the mightiest military without rights and without liberties. People were slaves to the warrior and shaman. The Feudal System was simply the modernization of prehistoric government.
@Artamentous So, true. They shared and they stole, they went to war and they made treaties. They definitely had more respect for nature, but other than that, they were a lot like us on a smaller scale.
@scottclements78 Prehistoric is defined as "before written history" which came into existence around 3000 BC. The Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age all pre-date written history and we know about those times in great detail. If you want more education just let me know. I will be happy to keep schooling you.
@ekpurdy Great detail? Is that the great detail they left on their stone blades or the great detail they left in there cave paintings? And all assumptions regarding how prehistoric societies functioned were that they were a society of tribe ownership rather than individual ownership of property. That's an assumption ofcourse as there was no written history for us to confirm that with. Unless its you ofcourse as you're the Professor of Youtube University Comments Department. School yourself boy.
@scottclements78 - I guess school is back in session... The Sumerian, Babylonian, Trojan, Aryan, Mesopotamian, Hittite, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, some of the Chinese Dynasties, and many other civilizations were all “prehistoric” members of the Bronze Age. So, yes, we do know about prehistoric cultures in great detail. It seems that you are confusing the Stone Age or Neolithic periods with the term “prehistoric.” ...Now, about you're tuition, boy.
@ekpurdy: You acting like a superior condescending prick & talking down to people & really you are proving your own ignorance. "Pre-historic' refers to the time b/f writing was in invented & people couldn't write down histories. It is hard to determine which came 1st but writing & bronze tools basically begin about the same time. You've made a public fool of yourself.
@VictorLepanto Yes, when people curse and make derogatory or downright stupid comments to me, I will "talk down" to them. Speaking of stupid, I will now address your comment. "Prehistoric" refers to the time before "written history," NOT the time before writing was invented. There was a great deal of drawing, carving, and writing before history was actually documented in writing. Please look the word up in a dictionary or encyclopedia before reading my next post.
@ekpurdy: Well, you've certainly demonstrated why arrogance & stupid are such a deadly combo. As most people write about things that have already happened, by definition, history would have been the 1st thing written. You really don't have the foggiest, & yet you have some need to talk down to everyone. Some counseling might be in order.
@VictorLepanto You say I need counseling after calling me names when we had never previously interacted? Well, a personal attack is not surprising from someone without facts. Based on historical findings, recorded history was not the first thing people began writing. As drawing evolved into writing, art evolved into basic communications. Then came record keeping for business transactions followed by laws. Written history soon followed, but it was not simultaneous with writing.
@VictorLepanto If you can name any civilization that possesses a detailed written history that begins at the exact same time as they discovered the act of writing, I would like to hear it. Also, if you can any civilization that we know absolutely nothing about before they began recording history in writing, I would like to hear that too. If you cannot name said civilizations, then you are quite simply wrong.
@ekpurdy: Thiis is too laughable. You just won't stop embarrassing yourself. It is almost a lead pipe cinch that the 1st thing ever written was some kind of historical account. Remembering where you came from was that the central concern of ancient man. The earliest writings were probably religious & tax records. Both by ancient priests.
@VictorLepanto Google is your friend, so put up or shut up. Name one culture where written history and the discover of writing itself occur simultaneously. You can't do it not only because you are an idiot, but also because there has always been an evolution involved when developing skills and writing was no exception. Somebody did not invent a few symbols one morning and began recording world history the night.
@ekpurdy: You are obvously too stupid to understand even what you are saying much less what I am saying. You obviously have never learned anything about the history of writing or given serious thought to the subject or have the capacity to seriously think about much of anything. You are just stringing words together grammatically b/c you think it makde you look knowledgable. I will look at no more of your comments.
@VictorLepanto After brashly interjecting yourself into the conversation by calling me names and insisting how wrong I was, you cannot site one historical case to back up your statements? I have simply stated widely accepted facts and I still state that 1) we know a great deal about numerous prehistoric civilizations and 2) they were not benevolent, utopian societies. They were in fact warring tribes where might made right. Please see my previous posts for historical references.
@ekpurdy I’m sorry to interrupt but it irritates me when people say things that are not true. The truth is that many civilizations’s possessed a detailed history before the written word. Ancient Egypt had no writing at all. They had pictures for their history walls. Pre history cave paintings were discovered and tell history without writing. Ancient Chinese scrolls with only drawings were discovered in the ruins of cities. Need I go on?
@BondFreek That is EXACTLY my point. The conversation began when people stated that we know nothing of prehistoric cultures. Prehistoric is defined as "before written history." As you have stated, we do in fact know about prehistoric cultures in great detail.
@VictorLepanto Now that you have read the actual definition of the word "prehistoric" I will accept your apology for referring to me as a "prick," a "fool," and ignorant when in fact you were the one that was name calling and ignorant of a common word's definition. In future please fact check yourself BEFORE you lash out at someone. It may prevent you from making a public fool of yourself.
@ekpurdy you are correct, Marx was a sucker. Prehistorc times were a time of tribal warfare and canniblaism. Marx didnt know what the fuck he was talking about.
@Gloomshadow100 Why, must each Yank eat somebody before he is claimed a man? That's only American rule, I'm feeling masculine enough without human flesh.
@tagaphon the Stone Age was a violent time, Marx said he wants to return to that time.. he is crazy. Marx is just another European that thinks everyone should take care of hiim because he wasnt man enough to feed his own family. Everything he talks about getting through communism, the US already had and it didnt work. A stateless world full of farms, we call that "The Wild West", it didnt work.
@Gloomshadow100 Your historian knowledge is close to absolute zero, about ethnography you didn't hear as well. I'd easily find for you some articles on this topic, but I'm afraid that you are idiot on purpose, you are paid to be such fool. As for Marx, to criticize him, you must at least know what you are talking about. Until now you criticize the fairy tale, that you are mistaking for Marxism.
@tagaphon well the idea of "sharing" or "Fairness" right away tells me that its just plain wrong. Neither one exists in Nature so how can it exist in man and his methods of ruling over others?
@Gloomshadow100 In animal world, from which most of us descend and you stay, the idea of fairness and sharing is way of life. Even wolves share their pray in fair way, why not human beings? Every herd animal knows about sharing and fairness.
@tagaphon no, you just fear me becuase I am correct and you are wrong. Marx is totally outdated and only applies to the European mindset. Americans never had "Monarchies" or strong central governments until 1941. We also do not have "classes", all americans the same.. the only difference is income and income is constantly chaning. We are too dynamic to have the problems that Marx had. Thus, Commuism is irrelevant in the US.
@Gloomshadow100 Americans had monarchies: Inka, Azteks, Maya. If you mean that rubbish that came from Europe, it had monarchies as well, in Europe. The difference in income is the sign of classes. Democracy is not democracy.
It should be re-thinked in form of direct democracy, where would people have say.
We have no say.
We must revolt.

LambdaKore 1 day ago

LambdaKore 1 day ago
The feudal system actually collapsed with the plagues -- up to that point, you literally had human lives to spare and to waste. Afterwards, the scarcity of skilled labor led to the emergence and growth of the middle class, mostly artisans, craftsmen, and other indispensible skills. The skills they possessed allowed them to earn wealth and enjoy a lifestyle previously unavailable except to the very few at the top.
LambdaKore 1 day ago
"In prehistoric times man lived in harmony." Ah, the noble savage -- it was B.S. when it was first proposed, and it's still B.S. today. "There was no need for government." Depends on your definition of government. Even tribes today "govern" at the family or village level. "People cooperated in order to survive." What, like we do today, and have done for centuries?
LambdaKore 1 day ago
Democracy is simply the road to what the people actually want. Whereas lack of democracy, is the fastest road to compleate fascism.
gulbirk 1 week ago
Democracy isn't the road to socialism, don't be so pessimistic. Democracy just means everyone has a say in the government, it doesn't mean the government has control over every aspect of our lives and possessions. Luckily in a constitutional democracy socialism is impossible, so it's not even true.

Marxism made simple: “Thus we find every tyrant backed by a Jew, as is every Pope by a Jesuit. 7) Marx doesn't hate democracy, only the representative one.

4) The bourgeoisie never claimed a say in the running of a country, it is simply a fact that those better off are in most cases those with the higher education and a bigger intelligence (which is why they were able to become rich in the first place)
jeebyboucky 1 month ago
3) This form of government didn't survive until the industrial revolution, but until the 16th-18th century, where people as the baron of Montesquieu and John Locke pleaded for a separation of the powers, which was followed in the 18th century by a consitutional monarchy (like in France for example)
jeebyboucky 1 month ago
1) In prehostoric times men did not live in peace, that's why the concept of 'Social Contract' was invented (see Jean-Jasques Rousseau)
2) The feudal system was created in order to be able to protect the system and its people from the barbarian occupations, a satellite system was to be created where power was divided, only to the benefit of the greater good.
jeebyboucky 1 month ago
Contrary to what this video and Carl Marx said there has always been a type of government, it is seen in nature. Take our nearest relative the apes. Every ape community or herd has a designated leader. That leader is usually the oldest of the apes. Another example is dogs and cats they have pack leaders. Pick any animal species and see for yourself. Communism is a dream that is impractical and against nature. It feels evil because it is unnatural. Humans need structure, it is in our DNA.
BondFreek 1 month ago
@BondFreek
No one individual has that capability now.
duckdown1993 1 month ago
@duckdown1993 The moment people start believing that they can't influence their leaders is the day liberty dies. Look at the history of Germany, Russia, and China. Everywhere when people the majority of people had your attitude freedom was lost. Just because the government is not listening does not mean you give up or shut up, or shout loader. You just keep at them and at them till they give in. That is how a democratic republic works. Eventually they will listen. Never give up!
BondFreek 1 month ago
@BondFreek
What power does on person have in a nation of 300,000,000?
duckdown1993 1 month ago
@duckdown1993 Why do you think that O'Reilly, Hannity, and AlfonZo Rachel piss off so many liberals (communists). It's because they never give up on trying to get the truth out for all to see. Their job is not to convince you that their way is the only way. Their job is to give you the facts and to state their opinion on what the facts mean. It's the left wing media that constantly reports opinion as facts while ignoring the real facts. Despite what MSNBC said your voice counts!

duckdown1993 1 month ago
@duckdown1993 It would bring Jobs and more income for your family, more money to help make your dreams to come true. Capitalism is the means for opportunity. Smaller government means more freedom. No more big brother telling you "you can't do that to your property without a license or written permission." Did you know that 30 years ago a kid could have a lemonade stand any time he or she wanted? Today that kid's parents need a license to sell lemonade.

@BondFreek
Where's the party that wants to shake off our bonds from the chains of ALL large organizations?
duckdown1993 1 month ago
@duckdown1993 Keep telling yourself that & you will always be a slave to big government. I don't look at parties & neither should you. Our country was founded on individuals working together not parties. When people put their faith in one party hell breaks loose. The Nazis were a political party not an army for Hitler. Hitler was a political leader not a dictator. Communist party of Russia was and is a political party. These are examples of what happens when people don't think.
BondFreek 1 month ago
@BondFreek
I'd be happy to get rid of our complex world and all that entails, but would YOU?!?!?!?
duckdown1993 1 month ago
@duckdown1993 You are soooo lost! How old are you 15, 20, 25? There has always been organizations. There are big governments and small governments.

Anyone who thinks Jews should cease to exist obvioulsy hates Jews.

taow222328 1 month ago
@OldLeftie If you are pointing me wrong constructively, I am all ready to listen. Remember, only constructive comment.
To answer your other question, I don't CLAIM to be a Chinese. For good and for worst, I am proud to be a Chinese.
No, I don't live in China. I am born outside China. And I can count the number of days I ever stay in the country.

Gloomshadow100 2 months ago
@SWRuzzante Sumer and all that werent Democracies, they were Monarchies with legal codes, not peaceful either, brutal. ..and Che was a coward. He told his men to fight to the last round of ammo and fight to the last man but when slightly wounded he surrendered with two loaded weapons on him. "Dont Kill me Im Che! Im worth more to you alive than dead" hahahhah what a pussy. Handed out death to others but couldnt accept it when it was handed out to him. typical.
Gloomshadow100 2 months ago

@ekpurdy If its prehistoric how would you know that?
scottclements78 2 months ago
@scottclements78 Hmm, Native Americans were a perfect example, of how all humans lived at one part in their histories.
Artamentous 2 months ago
@Artamentous So, true. They shared and they stole, they went to war and they made treaties. They definitely had more respect for nature, but other than that, they were a lot like us on a smaller scale.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@scottclements78 Prehistoric is defined as "before written history" which came into existence around 3000 BC. The Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age all pre-date written history and we know about those times in great detail. If you want more education just let me know. I will be happy to keep schooling you.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@ekpurdy Great detail? Is that the great detail they left on their stone blades or the great detail they left in there cave paintings? And all assumptions regarding how prehistoric societies functioned were that they were a society of tribe ownership rather than individual ownership of property. That's an assumption ofcourse as there was no written history for us to confirm that with. Unless its you ofcourse as you're the Professor of Youtube University Comments Department. School yourself boy.
scottclements78 1 month ago
@scottclements78 - I guess school is back in session... The Sumerian, Babylonian, Trojan, Aryan, Mesopotamian, Hittite, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, some of the Chinese Dynasties, and many other civilizations were all “prehistoric” members of the Bronze Age. So, yes, we do know about prehistoric cultures in great detail. It seems that you are confusing the Stone Age or Neolithic periods with the term “prehistoric.” ...Now, about you're tuition, boy.

@ekpurdy "The Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age all pre-date written history and we know about those times in great detail."
Quote from your last comment. What does the first three words say? So where is the great detail I asked?
And what with the "we"? Is all human knowledge owned by you and your geek club? How about saying " there is" or "its known"?
That can be your grammar lesson for today. Class dismissed.
scottclements78 1 month ago
@ekpurdy: You acting like a superior condescending prick & talking down to people & really you are proving your own ignorance. "Pre-historic' refers to the time b/f writing was in invented & people couldn't write down histories. It is hard to determine which came 1st but writing & bronze tools basically begin about the same time. You've made a public fool of yourself.
VictorLepanto 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto Yes, when people curse and make derogatory or downright stupid comments to me, I will "talk down" to them. Speaking of stupid, I will now address your comment. "Prehistoric" refers to the time before "written history," NOT the time before writing was invented. There was a great deal of drawing, carving, and writing before history was actually documented in writing. Please look the word up in a dictionary or encyclopedia before reading my next post.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@ekpurdy: Well, you've certainly demonstrated why arrogance & stupid are such a deadly combo. As most people write about things that have already happened, by definition, history would have been the 1st thing written. You really don't have the foggiest, & yet you have some need to talk down to everyone. Some counseling might be in order.
VictorLepanto 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto You say I need counseling after calling me names when we had never previously interacted? Well, a personal attack is not surprising from someone without facts. Based on historical findings, recorded history was not the first thing people began writing. As drawing evolved into writing, art evolved into basic communications. Then came record keeping for business transactions followed by laws. Written history soon followed, but it was not simultaneous with writing.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto If you can name any civilization that possesses a detailed written history that begins at the exact same time as they discovered the act of writing, I would like to hear it. Also, if you can any civilization that we know absolutely nothing about before they began recording history in writing, I would like to hear that too. If you cannot name said civilizations, then you are quite simply wrong.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@ekpurdy: Thiis is too laughable. You just won't stop embarrassing yourself. It is almost a lead pipe cinch that the 1st thing ever written was some kind of historical account. Remembering where you came from was that the central concern of ancient man. The earliest writings were probably religious & tax records. Both by ancient priests.
VictorLepanto 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto Google is your friend, so put up or shut up. Name one culture where written history and the discover of writing itself occur simultaneously. You can't do it not only because you are an idiot, but also because there has always been an evolution involved when developing skills and writing was no exception. Somebody did not invent a few symbols one morning and began recording world history the night.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@ekpurdy: You are obvously too stupid to understand even what you are saying much less what I am saying. You obviously have never learned anything about the history of writing or given serious thought to the subject or have the capacity to seriously think about much of anything. You are just stringing words together grammatically b/c you think it makde you look knowledgable. I will look at no more of your comments.
VictorLepanto 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto After brashly interjecting yourself into the conversation by calling me names and insisting how wrong I was, you cannot site one historical case to back up your statements? I have simply stated widely accepted facts and I still state that 1) we know a great deal about numerous prehistoric civilizations and 2) they were not benevolent, utopian societies. They were in fact warring tribes where might made right. Please see my previous posts for historical references.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@ekpurdy I’m sorry to interrupt but it irritates me when people say things that are not true. The truth is that many civilizations’s possessed a detailed history before the written word. Ancient Egypt had no writing at all. They had pictures for their history walls. Pre history cave paintings were discovered and tell history without writing. Ancient Chinese scrolls with only drawings were discovered in the ruins of cities. Need I go on?
BondFreek 1 month ago
@BondFreek That is EXACTLY my point. The conversation began when people stated that we know nothing of prehistoric cultures. Prehistoric is defined as "before written history." As you have stated, we do in fact know about prehistoric cultures in great detail.
ekpurdy 1 month ago
@VictorLepanto Now that you have read the actual definition of the word "prehistoric" I will accept your apology for referring to me as a "prick," a "fool," and ignorant when in fact you were the one that was name calling and ignorant of a common word's definition. In future please fact check yourself BEFORE you lash out at someone. It may prevent you from making a public fool of yourself.

@ekpurdy you are correct, Marx was a sucker. Prehistorc times were a time of tribal warfare and canniblaism. Marx didnt know what the fuck he was talking about.

Gloomshadow100 2 months ago
@Gloomshadow100 Your historian knowledge is close to absolute zero, about ethnography you didn't hear as well. I'd easily find for you some articles on this topic, but I'm afraid that you are idiot on purpose, you are paid to be such fool. As for Marx, to criticize him, you must at least know what you are talking about. Until now you criticize the fairy tale, that you are mistaking for Marxism.
tagaphon 2 months ago
@tagaphon well the idea of "sharing" or "Fairness" right away tells me that its just plain wrong. Neither one exists in Nature so how can it exist in man and his methods of ruling over others?
Gloomshadow100 2 months ago
@Gloomshadow100 In animal world, from which most of us descend and you stay, the idea of fairness and sharing is way of life. Even wolves share their pray in fair way, why not human beings? Every herd animal knows about sharing and fairness.
tagaphon 2 months ago
@tagaphon no, you just fear me becuase I am correct and you are wrong. Marx is totally outdated and only applies to the European mindset. Americans never had "Monarchies" or strong central governments until 1941. We also do not have "classes", all americans the same.. the only difference is income and income is constantly chaning. We are too dynamic to have the problems that Marx had. Thus, Commuism is irrelevant in the US.
Gloomshadow100 2 months ago
@Gloomshadow100 Americans had monarchies: Inka, Azteks, Maya. If you mean that rubbish that came from Europe, it had monarchies as well, in Europe. The difference in income is the sign of classes. If you tell me that difference in income of Bush and of some Morales from Dallas's slums is not big enough to make classes, you are the biggest idiot I know.
