The solo dance performed in this video clip is the traditional Tajik dance choreography "Shodiana". It is performed throughout Central Asia as a show piece for every top female dancer. This particular version of Shodiana was taught to five of the dancers of Ballet Afsaneh including Miriam Peretz (featured in this video), as well as Tara Pandeya, Rosa Rojas, and Aliah Najmabadi, by master teacher Sharofat Rasheidova during a Ballet Afsaneh residency/cultural exchange in Dushanbe Tajikistan.

wow. It's certainly an amazing dance. Can you please tell me if there are instructional videos i could buy that teach the dance so i can learn it also? i would go to workshops and classes but unfortunately there are none in this country.

The solo dancer is Miriam Peretz (not Tara) Miriam is one of the leading performers of Central Asian dance in the SF Bay Area, and Assistant Director of Ballet Afsaneh
