  • Only Bilal. Only damn Bilal. Flawless. Sensual. Timeless. And his adlibs? And the bassline. I actually have an out of body experience listening to this,. And the opening line still makes me smile

  • @ldpoetess i agree 1000%

  • This is a slapper. Cruise down the street with your Boomin' System. Everyones lookin'

  • Love this song. My absolute favorite by Bilal. This needs to be a ringtone or song on my phone.

  • I think he's making love to a woman he doesn't love. The song begins with him having sex, that is so good, it make him 'forget' he was goin' to tell her (that he doesn't love her). And, instead of telling her, he has sex with her over and over again.

In the second verse, they been apart for a while when they meet. They eventually have sex and he remembers how good her 'love' is. He might feel remorseful about it He tells her 'you got me feeling me all alone'; which is a lie.

  • It cloud be about the grey of not knowing where the relationship stands. I first thought it was about a deep sexual experience that made you question what percentage of purity was lost on your part. The loss of a certain sense of innocence either physically or emotionally. I would have to say emotional on his part. He connected on an emotional level. He's in the gray wondering is she connected the same way. Bilal goes deep. Pun? Obviously not a pun. (<grey)

  • Gets you in the mood....no matter what

  • This song is so ...I don't know, makes me want to smoke a cigarette and sip a glass of wine in a dark room on a rainy day and I don't smoke:). Makes me both happy and sad:).

  • But everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if we don't all agree on it. An opinion does not need a census.

  • I'm 20 years old and I will admit to liking some of music out now but in MY eyes nothing compares to this downright, powerful, and overwhelming music of people like Bilal and others like them.

  • @MrzAlternativeSoul I'm 23 and will have to say, after hearing this cat in my first year of high school with his album "First Born Second" it was a breathe of fresh air for music in general. The ish out today can never compare to get & underrated artists as Bilal and many other folks who are making real music lol. But Bilal is like D' Angelo on different levels, both of their music is truly top notch & this track, lol is not for the little kids that's for dang sure lol.

  • @Onaku07 So true. Im 21 and literally LIVE in their area of music. Beautiful.

  • @ldpoetess I hears that! Real music is all around, we just have to find it :).

  • Absolutely sexually EPIC!!!

  • this is on the sexin playlist

  • Took me awhile to find this...

    At least I did.

  • I personally think "white turns to grey" means that afterwards the relationship is cloudy. At first its white, clear what is going on, now its grey because they made the next step and it is unclear where it will go from there. Just what I thought though :-)

  • @shanellynise I always thought it was referring to (among other things) semen. Maybe I'm just a perv.

  • Ths Man Is A Genius OMG I LOVE IT..... Can You FeelMe Too.... Ooooooooooo Whn White turns to Grey!!!!!

  • Awww man i luv his underground chit...great performer too....

  • @ iiLulu "My goodness"

  • Practiced making babies to this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shaytuck05 ME TOO!!!

  • I will definitely be in the process of making my first child while this song plays lollll My goodness.

  • "I laid with you, and felt your body reach it's peak, did I hear you say, Come harder baby, So I can feel your waist vibrate, When white turns to grey, I laid with you..."...he does the intimate lyrics cannon mastered by Prince and Teena Marie proud right here...

  • i wanna make babies to this song

  • I love his music!!! I saw him in concert and he is the truth!!!!

  • i almost 4 got about my dog.its funny how this dude can capture both sides of a relationship.sometimes is every nigga anthem.

  • ugh! tht sux! but thanx anyway clenton!

  • The true evolution of soul

  • what album is this on?

  • @luvnmifro1003 love for sale

  • White turns to grey means when the collective energy of two souls merge to create the unimaginable.

  • ummmm...this been my jawnt for a while now but...what does the term "when white turns to grey" mean???

  • why i feel soooo horny with this song..??..love it..

  • s***t..this song make feel horny...

  • This song is going to have...like...eleventy-twelve kids conceived to it, no bull :D...!

This is "you must STRAP UP, or prepared for 18+ years"-music, right here*lls*...

  • @joeeregulah eleventy-twelve...LOL

  • @kirkyjremy29 Thanks for the response, folks*lls*...gotta keep it light, with folks getting all "hardcore" on post-thoughts and whatnot :-)!

This song is on a different level, though; and, it's good to see that folks are vibing to his specific type of musical soundscape, no doubt...

  • I honestly miss this movement........ I never understand why we run away from the very things that we need. This is music that speaks to the depth of our existence while the masses feed us the impure fruit. Wake up world, wake up. This is exactly what we need.

  • So damn sensual....

  • how can i get this cd,,,please somebody tell me

  • This is fire!!!!

  • I instantly fell in love with this song! I would pay money for this music too!!! Makes no sense.

  • Just reading some of the comments

is it true this album has not been released ?

  • - yup.

    - they dont think its a market for it. its the reason why you see artists like Chris Brown, Mario, and J. Holliday all over the place......they think thats what the public wants.

  • - thats the irony of it all. does the A&R person/staff need their ass beat...sure. but what does that say about these kids today and their tastes in music??

    - that A&R is doing what the numbers tell him to do, in the end its about money. and i hate to keep going back to the kids today, but thats exactly what the problem is. they are the ones buying (or not buying) artists like these giving a signal to the execs that this is not what the public wants to hear.....

    - i could go on forever

  • @soulsleepers but it's not just about the kids....kids want what they see.....and they're constantly being fed that crap by a large corporation. They're telling us what we want....and our kids minds aren't strong enough to know any better.....it's all a scheme to keep us as ignorant as possible.....to keep us selling drugs and getting locked up......and DYING. This is the Devil's market....thats why music w/ soul is frowned upon.....and thats why i do Gospel ;-)

  • @lessunn i was young once, and didnt fall for the bullshit the way these dumb ass kids do today.

    - i remember being teased for listening to real music as a teen and not the latest pop bullshit being fed to us.

    - there is a choice. this so-called grown man shit folks my age claim to be on...i was on in my teens.

    - but you're right, thing is, sometimes i have to remember im a rare breed. i didnt understand the music tastes of dumb kids then and dont understand the music tastes of dumb kids now.

  • We are a rare breed we were back then and we are now. I have a 14 yr old niece that LOVES Bilal and other artists that 14 yr old lil black girls normally don't get into creative music, but thats mostly because her MOTHER listens to all the more soulful music (she is a singer as well named Ngina Fayola, check her out), the point is yea we are rare and there are kids 2day thats rare as well, but we as parents have to expose them to this and all other kinds of good, soulful, spirit filled music ;-)

  • ^ great advice, i have a 2yo i have been doing this with since birth, listening to the like of Miles Davis, Dwele, Roy Hargrove, Bilal, and Foreign Exchange to name a few.

    - i NEVER listen to the radio so by the off chance he gets a few seconds of some trash playing on the radio between me switching cd's he gets the strangest confused look on his face like "turn this shit off dad", LOL!

  • @soulsleepers, that's hilarious! I've been trying to show my little one (now 11 and not so little) REAL music like this since she was born. She now hears some songs out there and is like "Well, that's fun, but it's not REAL." That is what being a real Mom/Dad is all about. Keep showing your little man what SOUL really means, in ALL things. God Bless, Boo!

  • @lessunn So agreed I was like that since I was a real lil kid listenin 2 music that my mama don't even listen 2 I luv me sum Bilal!!!

  • @soulsleepers "Dumb ass kids"? Really? You need to chill with that type of mentality, and that goes for anybody else that gave that shit a thumbs up. A big part of the reason these "dumb ass kids" are misguided is because not enough people from the older generations pull them to the side and try to school them. I get so sick of hearing older people talk down and badly about the younger generations, cuz more than half of them aint REALLY doing shit to try to help them. It takes a village...

  • @StLaRok thats right "DUMB ASS KIDS".

    - you sound like a very intelligent individual. so intelligent that you managed to contradict yourself in your two comments..........if "it takes a village" as you say, why did your first comments say they aint trying to hear that shit either because it sounds like an old dog barking?? come correct young one, or dont come at all.

  • @soulsleepers So here's where the real issue lies...aside from maybe the upbringing of your own child/children, everything you've said(and whatever you tell yourself) still doesn't change the fact that YOU know that you are not doing nearly enough for the youth in your community...judging from your attitude, I can tell that you're not even coming close or trying.

  • @soulsleepers "It takes a village to raise a child.". Going back and reading your reply, I realized that you didn't catch that reference. That's a commonly used saying. C'mon smarty pants...you can do better than that....

  • @StLaRok like most great musicians you dont sound to bright. how about you do us and my channel all a favor and log off!!

  • @soulsleepers Exactly. Like most "dumb asses", you have quickly depleted your pseudo-intelligence. I'm glad you realize now that you tried to set it off with the wrong one. I rest my case, and it sounds like you should get some rest as well. Peace...

  • @StLaRok

    - hey genius, if you were able to comprehend my comments you'd understand me calling them dumb ass kids is because they fall right in line with the mainstream instead of seeking out deep soul like Bilal. as evidenced by my examples of my own youth (did you even read that part?)

    - it has very little to do with someone teaching it to them and more to do with them recognizing thier right to push backwards.

  • @soulsleepers Now, I could go on and on about how YOUR defense actually mad no sense, but I obviously would be wasting time...you are what WE would call a "smart dumb cat". It does take a village, and these kids are NOT trying to hear old bitter farts talking and preaching DOWN to them and bad mouthing them, so I stand by both of those comments. Where's the contradiction? Show some patience, understanding(you were once a "whippersnapper", too), and dedication to them and you WILL see results...

  • @StLaRok

    - however judging from what you've already stated these comments will fly right over your head,, and you'll jump right back into your defensive mode. you sound young...and dumb....and bitter that your generation sucks. thats too bad, i took a listen to your music and it sounds really good (if this really is the real St. LaRok)

  • @soulsleepers Yup...the one and only St. LaRok with the good music ;) And I am a young man, but I'm no "whippersnapper". I'm a man who is wise beyond my years and have carried myself as such for quite some time. For the record, MY generation has produced some the most relevant music and art that speaks for people worldwide who previously felt voiceless, and I am an active member of that culture. We do not suck, and I have nothing but support and hope for the generations that are following us...

  • @soulsleepers Given the fact that I rarely(if ever) get into these internet debates, I will read any response you may post, but I probabably won't reply. This one won't be worth much more of my time, if any. People always talking about how dumb every generation under theirs is....these are our CHILDREN. And since they are "so dumb", and you're obviously so enlightened and wise....WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO REACH OUT TO THEM?! Exactly...the only thing you're reaching for is your keyboard.

  • @StLaRok That's so true. We're here to help the young and help them grow. Not to feel negative towards them.

  • @aroundtheworlda...(reply split into 4 parts 1/4) 100% correct we are here to help them grow. the problem is kids today are too busy slapping your hand away when someone "tries to school them" as StLaRok put it. as i stated from the very begining before that assclown decided to chime in, i was born in 79 but still managed to learn and appreciate great artists before my time. when old heads "tried to school me" on the greats of the 60s and 70s EYE LISTENED they dont.

  • @aroundtheworlda...(reply split into 4 parts 2/4) try the same with these DUMB ASS KIDS today about artists from the 80's and 90's and it flies right over their heads. after trying to put someone on for so long you get tired of them slapping your hand away as if they know it all.....and im tired. im especially tired of the lame ass excuses for this generation from people like StLaRok. im tired of excusing their behavior, im just gon call it like it is.

  • @aroundtheworlda (reply split into 4 parts 3/4) StLaRok says his generation has produced great music, and hes 100% correct. the problem? the dumb ass kids today are too ignorant to recognize it so those artists have a hard time making it. you have to dig so deep underground to find it and average listeners dont even know where to look. take Jesse Boykins III for example, my man can run circles around any top soul cat out today but you'd never know it ...why? because the youth dont support it

  • @aroundtheworlda ...(reply split into 4 parts 4/4) its a damn shame that an artist like Brittany Bosco has to literally GIVE her CD away on bandcamp. or Foreign Exchange isnt a household name yet. place Foreign Exchange, Brittany Bosco, and Jesse Boykins III in the 90's and 80's how much success do you think they would have had compared to now?

  • @soulsleepers ...and that's why they aint listening, cuz they aint trying to hear that shit either. It just sounds like an old dog barking to them...

  • danm this shit hella tight fa real

  • Here's the sad truth about this situation.....I love this song and this album so much that I'd be willing to buy 3 copies... but because of a supposed leak, now we don't even have the opportunity to BUY the song. Universal: if you release the song, we will buy it!! He's doing the songs live -- I don't understand. Do you not WANT the money?!!!

  • - read the comment below from sinistavoicez. i too used to think it was shelved just because it was leaked but his theory makes a lot more sense. i mean, just look at the disposable soul these record companies do choose to release.....now compare that to this.

  • instant favorite.

  • Enjoy it while it last!!! This may get me kicked off FB and Youtube, but for people who love music understand what's going on. They held this whole album cause they ain't know how to market it, and it didn't fit in with all that other CR
