Oh and jet ski's dont belong in either sport, Bodyboarding or Surfing. I understand it gives you an advantage, but the whole point in wave riding is to be you and mother nature. If it can't be paddled, should not be ridden. Takes massive balls to ride these waves with or w/o a ski (and all big waves for that matter, not knocking these guys have courage), but jetskis are horrible for both sports.

not really about if its harder to stand up or drop in prone, standing up is the first of many more challenging movements that it takes to make a barrel even close to this. bbrs have in the past and still ride heavier waves and hit sections no surfer realistically thinks about. carving turns at rincon is entirely different than getting barreled at shark island. i stand up surf and bodyboard and theyre two different ways to ride a wave, both functional for different types...heavier waves bbing

Standing up while being pushed by a wave is harder than laying there but it akes mroe work to catch the wave on a bb. I tried bb but wasn't really a huge fan so i stick to reg surfing.
