  • the base 2.0t starts at 24000, base 8speed auto 2.0 starts at 25250.. -_- not liking that one bit

  • Rediculous $34k?...try $24k then maybe it will sell.

  • the genesis coupe is the only hyundai i would buy

  • Beautiful car! but the front looks alot like the new veloster...

  • Last word was vents :-P

  • I am so glad hyundai is really a uping their game. because I really like Hyundai and I think they have a lot of potential to be a huge competitor against a lot of the other news muscle cars out there. let's all hope what we use to remember as the underpowered sports car will be a car that can go toe to toe with mustang, fingers crossed. on a side note I think the car looks really cool except for the vent I would replace those with actual functioning pants

  • 2012 IS BEST

  • Don't like it. They took something very nice and shat all over it. They just Micheal Jacksoned this car. The power upgrades are good. But I can get a first Gen and give it just as much power.

    First Gen > Second Gen.

  • It looks like a King

  • The front looks just like the Veloster's.

  • i was actually waiting for the day hyundai changed that girly grill they had at first... and the day has come. thank you hyundai!

  • It looks like a long veloceter

  • The new Genesis cannot keep its title because it just lost it.

  • isn't*

  • I definitely like the performance tweaks with the new car but as far as looks go I would probably go with the older model. This is bad at all but they derived too much of the front face from the veloster it sorta looks like.

  • @7477238 so its egotistical to want a car that you actually like the look of? yep. im the weird one here.

  • Lawls this > 2008 in every single way styling. a baby face vs an aggressive face. jeez u people are fuckin retarted.

  • @TheBlazeofRazgriz

    Lol @ retarted.

  • @FlyBySigh

Hahaha yeah, I caught that shit. I'm high as hell right now and laughing my ass off.

    Thanks.

  • @TheBlazeofRazgriz This has the face of the elantra hybrid and the Tuscon. Still think it's aggressive looking?

  • @zapatos123123 doesnt really have that at all unless you dont have eyes or a brain. looks nothing like the elentra hybrid or the tuscon, of anything looks like a beefer version of the veloster, since it was based off that. and its still more aggressive than the old one, in black anyway, which is what i would get it in. besides i wouldnt keep the stock grille anyway as soon as bought it i would replace it so it really doesnt matter lol

  • it look good last year.. fast or not this is ugly.

  • @csbeverly1 Looks are not everything on a car. It's the performance, features, build and value which this car does well. Maybe a materialistic egotistical maniac who cares about look and badge might focus on looks alone but a person who enjoys driving will love this car.

Would you drive a piece of shit car only because it looked nice?

  • @csbeverly1 NOT BECAUSE FORD, GM, HONDA AND TOYOTA MADE US USED TO THE SAME RECYCLED CRAP DESIGN... MEANS THIS VERSION IS UGLY, ITS DESIGN EVOLUTION.

  • I'll take the turbo 4-banger model thanks

  • @motortrend I've noticed in every video except this one that the Genesis Coupe had a spoiler on it. I'm guessing the spoiler was added in those videos to make it look sportier? Also will there be a grand touring with push button start or have they gone back to strictly key start up? Also what happened to the tinted windows? I've old genesis model i've seen had tinted windows. Thinking i might have to trade in my tiburon for a genesis. And I like that it has blue link also

  • If everything goes according to plan, hopefully by this summer I'll own one of these... Does anyone know if the 2.0 models come with fogs? I know 09-12 didn't have them. It be really great if they did though.

  • @TVinmyEye I don't think they come with fogs. Look at 0:43, that Genesis doesn't have them so I guess no... =/

  • @555Yuri555 oh right :/ i didn't notice that, hopefully that's just a base 2.0 maybe a higher trim 2.0 will hopefully have them...

  • no matter what it is still "Hyundai" , most disrespected name in cars, at least change the damn ugly logo Hyundai

  • @TurkiyeCumhurbaskani how is the logo 'damn ugly'? I've never seen any 'damn ugly' logos in my entire life, its just the stupid perception you have for the company. Get someone who don't know anything about cars, and show them all the car company logos. I doubt they'll say this one is particularly 'damn ugly'. Throw away your bias.

  • @JJungkr are you fucking mental??? I am talking about an object a material not a human race, if I say it is shit then it is shit. taste is subjective don't be a moron!! Chill the fuck out!!

  • @TurkiyeCumhurbaskani <---- typical it's still a Hyundai is getting boring Hyundiai 4th car maker on planet earth and fastest growing car company on planet earth... fucking morons like u think this is 1980.

  • They should have just kept the old genesis look and upgraded the engines.... Looks to much like the veloster

  • Pettercass88 saddle brown with black dash interior gives a sports car serious class and character! One of the coolest car interiors I ever seen and unbelievably the most comfortable car I have driven, is a 2006 volvo v70 R. Before anyone ripps on this car. Google it and check out the blue metallic faced watch gauges truly Unique.

  • 274 hp in premium fuel. But 254 in regular

  • 8-speed auto? That's a little too many. Nobody needs more than 6.

  • @350zmt06 like if u know anything about cars dumbshit

  • @minhyukiii Oh, yes I know about cars. I've driven a 7-speed 370Z. It was damn confusing to select gears in the manual mode.

  • @350zmt06 blame the driver not the car, if the driver can only make a use of 150hp from a 500hp car, the car is 150hp car. Really depends who drives it ;)

  • only thing this car needs is to repaint the black section on the front bumper body color and rebadge it factory with the genesis coupe badge kit. When i go to buy it you bet im having the dealership do the re-badge package and maybe get an estimate on painting that black section blue (love the Grand Touring Edition with blue and saddle brown leather)

  • I cant wait to get one. I can see it now with 19x9.5 rims on the back n lowered to an aggressive stance chin spoiler n all the bolt ons i can get for it.

  • Its just the new design people have to get used too. The mind tends to get used to familiar things so when something new comes out you might not like it at first but once you see it in a new light... Example chin spoiler or after market body kits that enhance or in dome cases tone it down then youll see the car is actually a great design.

  • Love that cars are starting to get shift paddles. I know to a lot of enthusiasts that's lame and not as fun, but I'm not a stick shift person.

  • I dreamed of getting the genesis coupe when I'm graduated, i'm still dreaming but def not the 2012 or 2013 model , that grill is just ugly

  • I like the new Genesis But I love the first one!!

  • Ill be honest i really like the way this car looks and i drive a 2011 sti sedan, but the thing that Hyundai really needs to re do asap is that H logo, it really makes the car look cheap and ugly, they need a better aggressive logo look

  • @sniper2606 thats because the logo has always made cheap and ugly cars till recently people that grow up with the symbol this day and age will recognize that symbol as something beautiful and great. i think the logo is fine

  • dont they have a 5 liter v8 in the sedan? they should put that in the coupe

  • @muscletruckdude it'll harm sales of the R-spec genesis sedan. And the sedan is what they prioritize.

  • The most powerfull 2.0L engine is from Mitsubishi EVO X: 291hp.~!!!LOL

  • Its like they are trying to squeeze in that signature wide mouth grill awkwardly into the front and force the head lights to the sides making look like a catfish? This is a huge makeover as compared as compared to the 2011. Now really, be consistent please Hyundai.

  • I lovee the power. i got a 2012 V6 track genesis coupe back in august, and it could use a little more. i just hate the new grill. awful.

  • I forgive the ugly fascia for that massively powerful 274hp 2.0L. Hyundai might steal the thunder away from Toyota/Subaru's FT-86(turbo).

PS: Nissan, where is the Silvia S16?!

  • With that much power and style, Yes Motortrend, yes it can.

  • I like this car the problem with this brands is than on a long trip they lose some power that also happen with ford. I prefer the mustang cause a V8 doesn't lose a lot power

  • I can appreciate the motor, but I wish I could get it in (in my opinion) the better looking, first Genesis Coupe

  • @MrTakaMOSHi I agree with you 100%. I am hoping the new one looks better in person? Maybe it will grow on me....maybe.

  • @pedro125252 Yet it's still slow compared to the mustang. Slap on supercharger onto the mustang 5.0 and it'll will get mor hp than stock. Most engines can be upgraded to make more hp. What's ur point? There are a lot of cars out their that make do with less hp. The Tau engine produces 10 more hp big deal. Come back and talk when the Tau produces 50 to 100hpmore N/A. Then it'll be something to brag about.

  • @greenfaction4 The point is that a Hyundai has more HP out of the factory than a "legendary" Mustang... LOL Shame.

  • @MsMHAP Ford usually underrates their engines right? The 2003 cobra cranked 430 hp stock but ford lied and said it made 390. Same here with the 2011 mustang. Many have found that it makes 380 to 395 whp depending on which dyno used Which means it makes 430 plus at the crank. if you don't believe me do some research and you'll find out!

  • @DocWolph the you for the correction sir.

  • Just found my next car.

  • Serious numbers!! I want to see a track test ASAP!!!

  • I own an Infiniti G35 Coupe and prior to seeing this new 2013 Genesis Coupe, I would've never even considered buying a Hyundai. After hearing the specs on the 3.8-Liter V6, (identical horsepower and 20 more pound-feet or torque than an Infiniti IPL G Coupe) it will probably cost $10,000 less than an IPL Coupe. Bottom line. I WANT ONE!!!

  • THIS REDESIGN IS NASTY ! the old one was so beautiful and sleek this looks like its a pedofile with a massive grin waiting to gobble up children

  • I don't get it, why'd they make it look older and uglier? So retarded

  • I'm not a fan of paddle shifting, but with the new 8-speed auto, I really think it'll be really fun.

But, hot damn, 348 hp with a 6-speed manual?! I'm in!!

  • the v8 coupe is on the drawing board:)

  • Hyundai will be my next manufacturer ... They came a long way... Genesis sedan or the Equus #choices

  • WTFF Hyundai man...from the shittiest looking car to some crazy best looking in its class

  • IM GETTING THIS OMG

  • Hyundai why don't you just throw your V8 in there and compete with the American Muscle segment, or better yet throw a twin turbo on your v6 and make a GTR'esque supercar. It's hard for people to talk bad about Hyundai when you're owning the streets.

  • @Drewmurr2G The New Genesis Coupe V6 already competes with the Muscle cars, beating them in terms of REAL sports car feel. Hyundai already dropped a V8 in their Genesis 5.0 Tau Sedan, has more HP than a Mustang 5.0. So i think Hyundai already owning the streets.

  • @pedro125252 That's so false lol. Let me know when Hyundai has a street car that does 202 MPH off the lot, with the window sticker still in place.

  • @LXnastynotch93 lol go to their website ignorant. :D

  • @pedro125252 HahahA! That's it?! real sports car feel? Wow! That does not surprise me since you compared a mustang and a fucking corolla in terms of styling in a previous video as it regarded to the genesis' "evolution in design". The v6 genesis performs better than the v6 version of the pony cars! Big whoop! and now you are comparing the 429 hp Tau engine to the 5.0 420 hp?! If were are taking hp than the Boss 302 make 444hp. Got anything else to say?

  • @greenfaction4 Yes the 2013 Genesis coupe V6 mas more HP and torque than the V6 Mustang so it will blow its ass. Now the Mustang Boss is not base out of the factory... I can turbo charge the Genesis 5.0 and get more HP than that... LOL the point is that a Freaking Hyundai has more HP than a Mustang 5.0...

  • I do not like that new front end at all! The rest of the car is fantastic, and I am glad to see the engine improvements.

  • Just saw this car in person and the 3.8 V6 comes with a torque meter gauge. Pretty comical, but kinda cool nonetheless. As long as,you like the Veloster front end, you will like the revised front end on the genesis coupes.

  • The front end looks like a squashed veloster...

  • I really like the new numbers, but I have to say..."DAMN, that thing is ugly!"

  • Comment removed

  • @googleccd079 shit is rice-o-rific! fake hood scoops, altezza lights. beauty lies in simplicity, and this isnt simplistic. It's FUGLY. Fuglier than the new STi!

  • I really liked the 1st gen genesis coupe...but WOW! This car looks great, and I never liked the turbo 4 idea in such a great car. But now it gets 274 hp...HOOLY SHIT. That is amazing! I was looking into buying a 2010 v6 genesis coupe, but now it looks like i'll want to wait a few more years and get the 2013. IT LOOKS AMAZING

  • I hope the new genesis beats the mustang, it deserves to.

  • I like this metallic gray

  • I had a 4th gen camaro and even though it was so beautiful, it handled horribly (huge heavy car, massive understeer, etc). I like the new genesis coupe mainly because everyone says it handles so well and is very fun to drive. With my camaro I learned that it makes no sense to pick a sports car based purely on its looks, as you can't see how beautiful your car is while you're driving it anyway. The 2013 genesis coupe may not be the best looking car, but it is the winner for me.

  • @anonymousphox

Just got a used e92 about 2 months ago, thinking of trading up for this one...

good looks and great performance is a win win for me

  • I am willing to drive this car.

  • looks like they took the current look and smushed it a bit haha

  • @vix121 wtf are you talking about? The 3.8 starts at $27k, the 5.0 starts at $30k. Not to mention the fact that a fully loaded 3.8 Genesis is about $31k, the 5.0 will easily get to $38 with all the options.

  • @lz3390 wtf the genesis comes out with 5.0 engine\???

  • @lz3390 The 5.0 is still a better buy for most people. It all comes down to preference.

  • ugly

  • Wow that is a lot of power for the money the V6 makes more power than the old M3 used to or the new 370Z!

  • This phrase my trigger a Russian sleeper agent.. but that Hyundai is sexy.

  • Hyundai calls their design language 'Fluidic Sculpture', I call in the 'Insect look'

  • Missing important infos in the vid, like brakes are Brembo.

  • Not a fan of the front end design too much. Their design team looks like they're sort of going down the same path Mazda did, which they're backing out of now. Everything else looks really good on paper

  • a freakin hyundai with 350hp and a 6 speed. yup speechless. patiently awaiting a test drive to see how it performs.

  • I hate fake vents....and my mustang is the biggest contributor...which is why my goal is to make them actually do somehting.

  • coooooooooop..... coooooooop.... cooooooooop.....

  • that shift nob is sexy

  • at 1:18 asian dude in the back is drooling all over that red genesis. lol

  • Who in their right mind thinks faux vents are cool?

  • 8-speed auto? 274 HP out of a 2.0l engine?

American car makers, take notes. This is how its done.

  • @sangolt88 the chrysler 300 is 8 speed auto they got that right. If it lasts over 100,000 miles.

  • @sangolt88 there's nothing special about that engine. All they did was slap a huge turbo on it.

  • @fearthetruth580 And Direct Injection. And higher efficiency. And lower weight. Magnesium alloys. But hey, nothing special, right?

  • @sangolt88 lol

  • @sangolt88 yeah, but with too much electronics. Proper american muscle cars had until reecently no electronics, so there was nothing that could break down or it was easy to repair....P.S: new Opel Astra OPC has 2.0l Turbo engine, that puts out 280 bhp...

  • @sangolt88 Mitsubishi makes 291HP from a 2.0L

  • @datpimpinboy cool story dude hahahaha go drive ur Mitsubishi

  • @minhyukiii It'll be my pleasure.

  • @sangolt88 ...The Buick Regal GS makes 270hp & 295lbs-ft a from a twin scroll turbo 2.0L I-4(LNF) also found in the Cobalt SS T/C, which was faster around VIR than the Genesis Coupe R-Spec.... I'd say Hyundai needs to catch up with Detroit

  • lol People here are quite stupid, I see people saying, this car looks like GT-R, Aston Martin and Audi, are those cars even similar to each other? wtf man just take it as it is, Hyundai's got their own design language, no matter if u like it or not, don't go around proving that ur ignorant shit

  • I don't care much for the front end... But I like the results

  • hole. There has to be and I know there are better people with a natural affinity for cars than what you are giving us. Please try harder.

  • I'm not sure from which pool you are drawing your "talent" but you need to find a new swimmin

  • LOL this thing will be hell of a bang-for-the-buck car! Wondering what this new 2.0T I-4 engine will produce once tuned. Nissan needs to step up their game, the 370z is too damn slow for these upcomming vehicles.

  • @psmTARDCORE if Nissan is truly looking to step up their game they'll stop focusing on high power output and start making a car that's thrilling to drive with a strong rigid chassis and excellent handling like the original 240sx and the 300zx

  • @fearthetruth580 All the 370z needs is a detuned 2007 GTR engine (400 hp) a beefed up six speed manual, a few suspension upgrades and the 370z will be back in the game. I don't think its going to happen though, because their main and only focus the past couple of years have been the GTR. Nissan should give the 370z a much needed revamp

  • the hood vents look similar to ones on the aston martin models.

  • wao brou ,this people come hard , nou joke !

  • they made it uglier wtf!

  • I still can't bring myself to like these cars.... It's a damn Hyundai! I will always see the brand as somewhat generic.

  • @AustinH234 Toyota is generic.

  • @Gregg3509 Toyota generic? I don't think so. They have been around longer them most baby boomers and have produced some of the worlds most reliable cars. They've engineered the Toyota supra for goodness sake. If you were to state that most of their cars are bland and boring looking, I would have agreed with you. On the other hand, I do dig some of their Lexus products.

  • wow. very impressive.

  • great job with the enthusiasm Ron Kiino....

  • Oh my God just stop with the mustang comparisons, just let the damn thing be, its a great car in its own right

  • @bigyankee86 Why wouldn't they compare the Genesis Coupe with its main competitors in the US market -- such as the Mustang and Camaro? Hell, the more people compare the cars, the more competitive manufacturers will have to be. That's a good thing, no matter which car you prefer.

  • I never though I would say this! I think I want a Hyundai :)

  • @cjcarroll2001 I never thought you would say such a thing

  • @cjcarroll2001 i NEVER thought i would either! lol like NEVER ever lol

  • Guys, I thought the new Genesis coupe would get a V8 5.0L engine?! Anyone?!

  • @DJDSchannel I think I remembered reading that the engine bay in the coupe can't accomodate even the 4.6 v8.

  • it kind of looks like a tiburon

  • DUDE red interior ! AWESOME

  • 348hp V6 with 30 mpg? Good luck ford and chevy.

  • @gtsimulator good luck ford ans chevy? the 2012 V6 mustang makes 305hp and gets 31 mpg. throw on a Ford Performace chip from there upgrades catolog and you will have 330hp and increased fuel efficency. and more torque.

and less we forget the 650Hp 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 that sports 650hp and gets 28mpg hwy

    good luck hyundai

  • *Stares in horror* What have they done to the front end!? It looks like the dopey little Elantra and Velocter... I mean it works fine for those bodies, but not here - not the Gene' D;

  • 348hp OMFG!!! Now if it gets anyhwere between 29-30mpgs I would just may consider this over the 2013 mustang

  • @000SaviourXXX it's around 18/28 v6

  • @juukyuu7666 Not bad at all and ty for the info.

  • @000SaviourXXX yep and the 274hp model gets around 21/31 :)

  • both engines GDI now its time to buy the hyundai! im sure even the 348hp gets 28-30+ mpg

  • @reaj2010 18/28 for the v6

  • Well as I keep looking at this day by day, I am starting to warm up to the new front end of this Genesis. It's not an instant like by all means, and I think the issue that most people are having with the new front end is that it's too busy. If they remove the grill gills that are on the bottom half of the front nose with just an open or mesh grill then I think everyone would be less disturbed. If I get this, I'm going to try to room those lower grill gills.

  • Like the Genesis Coupe EXCEPT for the side windows between the 'B' & 'C' pillars. Almost reminds me of a bleep machine in hospital. Everything is nice and even... "doin' great, doc"... then bbbblllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp. Bottom falls out and "we're beginning CPR". Well, it's just my take on things. Ha!

  • copy of gtr styling.... smh

  • @TheMurda16 this doesn't even resemble gtr what are you talking about? stop hating and start appreciating...

  • why the hell people always say coupe when it is coupé

  • Please use functional hood inlets/outlets. I dont get the faux stuff,

  • I have the 2011 Genesis Coupe, and by comparing it on how it looks, the 2010-2012 GenCoupes looks way better than this PIECE OF CRAP OF A CAR!! All what Hyundai did was by giving it a Veloster-like facia, a Sonata Rear with it's taillights, and Mid-Body of the Genesis Coupe. I say, this car has a lack of originality! SMH Hyundai! But the interior is ok in my books.

  • @Elmo187 I drove an F430 once and an R8 couple of times.

you can feel the differences in power and overall performance between these "semi-sports" cars like Camero's, Mustang's, Genesis etc. and a REAL sports machine like the R8.

  • Great Car!

  • The v6 Mustang and Camaro have now been officially deemed obsolete.

  • @gkward1981 Since the last GC 3.8 was around $28k, I don't see how both the Camaro and Mustang are obsolete considering this newly revised GC 3.8 will be north of $30k, right in the area of a Mustang GT.

  • @gkward1981 To bad the 3.8 Genesis is going for Mustang 5.0 money.

  • Hyundai is on a roll. 274hp rwd, with a lot of potential in tuning n upgrading. Forget the Subaru/scion slow ass car.

  • American ponies are in trouble

  • @OscarVega92 Really, the 3.8 Genesis is already costing the same money as the 5.0 Mustang, which may I remind you has 420hp for 2013. Mustang's and Camaro's have nothing to worry about.

  • @vix121 The difference is Genesis Coupe 3.8 sexy, and Mustang parked in every corner... boring.

  • I look like Subaru BRZ lol

  • @MrNanasisan AAAW YEEAAAA

  • Head lights, side lines and the rear actually looks really nice, just the front grill Hyundai should do something about. That hexagonal thing should only be used for i30 and i40 or maybe veloster for some people but don't need to shove it in genesis coupe :(

Loving the new engine upgrade tho :D, great car (y)

  • Why Can't they just put the v8 from he genesis sedan in it :(

  • @dracolnyte 348bhp is no enough!

450 will be the optimum amount of power.
