  • You play this piece way too slowly.

  • A lot of immature comments, but I personally enjoyed the piece ^_^

  • How was your first experience on the harpsichord? Very nice video by the way.

  • Very good!! Nice clean playing. Cleanliness comes before speed, which you have down good. A good technique to gain speed while keeping the cleanliness is to use the metrometer push technique, essentially playing slow with a metronome, and gradually upping the speed, perhaps at about two clicks at a time. Keep up the good playing!

  • Distorted sound and blurry video....what a shame.

  • @cregmeister i bet the author of this video will cry forever because can't afford a hundred-thousand bucks camera and a neumann KMS 105 to properly record this piece of art... please next time plug in your brain before speaking

  • advice: don't play the harpsichord like it were a piano, you gotta pluck not strike

  • Not bad, but optimum speed for this piece would make it right around a minute long...work on that!

  • less slow no?

  • The speed is fine, just get a better camera.

  • Apparently some people are saying it sucks, I don't agree. It's good, but needs work.

  • bleah!! you have kill a bautiful song!!!

  • @cescoilgrande And you have murdered the english language.

  • @JettKuroi i don't speak english well butn who keir?

  • sorry bout spamming, just found out it's in the title xD Looked at the description. sorry about that,.

  • @cremno yup. Bach is good!

  • might sound stupid, and might be cursed for all eternity by all, but which song was that? never heard it before.

  • i've always thought 774 was a questionable & even hilarious work in it's styrange imputance of dark eminations. good harpsichordia. if u want a diferent perspective of diz piz, check out mine: the devil's partita. wat u tink?

  • Nice

  • Very ok first attempt on harpsicord. It both looks and feels very different from the piano. A great thing about the harpsicord is, that even "thin" sounding pieces sound warmer and larger . Try listening to "Ah, - vous dirai-je, Maman" played on harpsicord.

  • Amazing

  • Great performances

  • Wonderful! Thank you for posting!

  • what's wrong with the trills? nothing's wrong. there's no correct interpretation of baroque music because the practice of that time was to improvice and make your own style embelishments (trills, etc.).

so i like it. keep it up!

  • I liked the tempo, actually : )

  • Not bad :)

    There's one mistake:

At 0:12 AND at 1:10 (it's the just the theme again) you play a »c« instead of a »d« on your left hand.

You are not very good at trills, this is natural, I wasn't at the time I recorded my version, too. So just try to leave out the long trillers at 0:32 an 0:42.

There are several etudes for trills e. g. from Hanon (Korean Pianist), which might help you.

Try to play eighth notes portato (not legato!)

I don't think anyone has got the right interpretation of Bach!

  • I liked it.

  • Horrible.

  • Gracias! Estaba buscando una versión más lenta. Tú la has tocado a la velocidad que mejor le va a esta pieza.

    Enhorabuena!

  • (b) is flat sir

  • Ah, but 'b' is _always_ flat!

  • but you play it natural

  • What a bunch of bitter people! If y'all mudslingers can play better, let's see it! Sammy, go for it, sounds cool to me, don't worry about the "people" who like to make others feel bad, that's all they have to offer.

  • nice!

  • If I'm honest, this isn't very good.

  • guacala¡¡¡¡ primero aprendetela bien....

  • If you're going to post a comment on YouTube, make sure it's worth writing.

  • hey ass wipe there's no real dynamic control for harpsichord, -so before u go acting like music asshole extraordinaire go learn a thing or two about instrumentation.

  • Ha I thought the same thing when I saw that comment.

  • what a shallow and critical twat you are! Why is it that insecure idiots with small penises and likely no talent in any area of their life feels so compelled to write such hurtful comments. YouTube is a voluntary experience ass hole. If you don't like this performance, then you're very well come to stop listening to it!

  • fsharp - are you an idiot? This is a Harpsichord, not a Pianoforte. You sound like a fool with your talk of "dynamics", so keep your idiotic and uninformed comments to yourself.

  • Fsharp,

I went to your profile thinking I would be wowed by the way it was suppose to be play.

And guess what?? blank, zip, zero, nada, not one piece of ANYTHING.

Just a clapped out, bitter, old queen, eh??

  • Humm...I am bald, and old to some. Bitter? Nope, quite a happy guy, and you might notice that I'm not the one everybody thinks is a tool.

  • There's this little thing at the right called "Description."

  • Terrible trillos!!

  • It was slower than other recordings I've heard, but I would rather it be played slow and correct, than fast and shitty. Anybody agree?

  • To the arguments on tempo, surely this piece wants to be played more quickly than not, there is little doubt in this being implied whether the tempo is written or not--it is simply the nature of the piece. _However_, Bach surely would approve of most any tempo so long as it be neither too fast nor too slow to absorb the work and would have been more concerned with execution than speed. The correct tempo is _always_ the one at which the student can play _correctly_.

  • It also must be considered when speaking of tempo that it is in greatest importance a relative term. In a work of more than a single movement (or more than one intended tempo) it becomes more crucial that the tempos be written with respective accuracy to one another if the composer's desired affect is to be achieved. Tempo obviously is therefore of less importance to a lone, brief work such as an invention which, being commonly used as an exercise makes practicing varied tempo most acceptable.

  • you play pretty well but the sound or the harpsichord is screwed up xD

  • I enjoyed your playing: I think it is the fault of the microphone that the sound is not the best... Keep up the good work!!

  • Bach didn't write for Gould.

  • thank you for your advice.~~~~

  • i only wish the sound was better

  • The speed worked well in my opinion :) Well played

  • the speed is WAYYYYYYYY to slow. Watch the Glenn Gould version, that itthe correct speed.

  • Didn't know Gould was the objective standard for Bach. Especially when Bach didn't give any tempo indications for the piece. If you ask me, Gould is way too fast.

  • If you ask me, I have the music, and it says "Allegro" 0.o

  • I know but that isn't Bach's own markings but later interpretations. :)

  • I think the speed is fine, beside the trill bit. Great stuff.

  • Oh ! i dont blame you !

you play very well but you just have to play most speedy et it will be excellent ! bye
