He is the best yet we insist on trying to cover more boards than necessary. We should shoot our strikes firm and direct. We should roll our spares end over end to ensure the lane doesn't steal our pins. Covering all the boards and flaring the entire ball is flashy, but repeating the X's day in and day out, year aftr year is way more impressive. Walter is the best and until someone realizes that and tries to approach bowling with that same philosophy, he always will be.
uh??? Tommy Jones?... Just kidding of corse. What this post shows is two pro level bowlers with forms that are completly different ends of the complexity spectrum.. arguable on any given day one of these could beat the other but Walter Rays simple(non contemporary) aproach has given him unmatched staying power through the years---and is still a threat.

Walter Ray is amazing! He only won 29 titles by this point and managed to accumulate 15 in 10 years! Amazing!

I've always enjoyed watching Amleto Monacelli, although I could never duplicate his unique approach. Thanks for the post.

it's a little too showy, but if you get your backswing high, good rpms and throw it hard, you got something better than amleto
