  • Love that motor. I used to have one in my 71 Ranger that I had made it street and strip.

It was a CJ motor and had been ported and polished with D shaped exhaust plates in ports.

750 Double pumper. big cam. 488 gears. Run 12.70s in quarter.

  • Sounds like every thing was done to that engine sounds great good job and lots of HP

  • Wow, that's amazing! How are these heads for low end power? And What car are you putting her in? Thanks.

  • ouch!

  • @greasy59 yes you are right..even the plugs go in in the same way ..the yblock was the one and only ford v8 to ever be made with the dist in the rear ,..even the oil filter is in a similar place and same side of block as well .,,and you would almost think you could take the valve covers off the sbc and put them on the yblock and vise versa except the hold down bolts are in different locations but they look very similar in size and shape

  • Why do people with some actual knowledge, facts, debate with retards!? The old saying goes... I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you! Great engine. Gotta love the Cleveland... canted heads, large valves, big ports. However the Windsor oiling design is superior. I like your choice of using a dry sump set-up ;)

  • heavens soundtrack

  • Sweet music!!

  • Well that should scare all the Chevy's away ;) Hemi's like OMG the Clevelands coming!

  • @red1950stude i know where there is an ex Hendricks SB2 ,,, swapped a 3.625 crank in it ,, 395 ci , nitrous solid roller ,,, 969 hp N/A at 9300 ,,, so ,, umm ,,, what did you say about the clevelands ?

  • @levisnteeshirt I bet that sb2 uses a stock production block from back in the 70's too. Plus they probably cut the thing off at 8 grand. Never posted any dyno graphs so who knows. What I do know is that there is a reason why chevy replaced the sb2 with the r07 which is pretty much a modern day version of the ford cleveland. All modern day nascar engines are that way

  • @booyah45828 you want the phone number for the shop where it is sitting for sale ? he has all the info ,,, owners business hit bottom , so its sitting there with a bill owed on it the biggest benefit to the RO7 is the even cooling compared to an SB2 ,,, seeing that Ford hired the same man that designed the BBC to work on the 351 ,,, the 351 owes its attributes to the BBC

  • @levisnteeshirt Nahh, already got one and really don't need need another. I wan't saying that the sb2 was a turd motor so don't take offense. All that I was saying was that every modern day nascar engine is rooted back to the cleveland. Yes, the BBC beat the cleveland too using canted valves, and it's still debated whether Knudsen and gang had anything to do with it because the project was started before he came along. I couldn't tell ya, wasn't around than to even be a part of it.

  • @levisnteeshirt The only reason I commented was because it seems like you're not giving respect where it's due. If I'm misunderstanding you than sorry. But I don't know of any other reason for you to post what you did without the intentions of putting down the cleveland. And I don't put any motor down because of the maker because they all contributed in some way to where we are today and where we're going tomorrow.

  • @booyah45828 it did good , not a slouch by no means ,,, nascar heads pick up both ford and chevy ,, all i'm saying ,,, i just know one chevy it won't scare away yet

  • @levisnteeshirt .well if that is the case..then chevy needs to show some honor to ford again..seeing it was actually ford who developed and designed the sbc and sold everything to chevy ..i know it sounds crazy and hard to believe ,,but look close at a y block and sbc,,besides water pump and timing chain cover,,you can clearly see both motors had to be built by the same guy..or team...there is a story on the net explaining how this happened..i can email you the article to show some points

  • @red1950stude

Do you even know what a Hemi is?

  • @portvga hahahahaha sure , 331, 354, 392, 426? Hemi Under Glass, Poison Ivy, Pure Hell? Yeah they're bad but this guy's cleveland probably flows like a ported hemi head, same big ass valves and a hell a lot cheaper to build and get into. I love them both for what they are, me I built an 11:1 4v Cleveland, heads flow like mad and love to rev. It would take a fortune to build a 378 cube hemi to put down these same #'s if it could, but you can't beat the sound of a dual plug hemi on nitro ;)

  • excellent execution of old iron! i am really not biased when when it comes to american engines. i love them all and they all have their own natural attributes. the gmLs is the equivalent of what you would get if donald trump and oprah had an offspring when it comes to mixing engine technology. we need more high hp ford 2.3s,gm ecotecs, and 2.0 dodge engines also. but of all the modern and vintage engines i must give ford the glory simply because you would be hard pressed to build ...

  • another engine with these type of numbers without a power adder, multiple cams, multiple carbs, or helluva cubic inches. old or new. simply put i would much rather have a modernized ford pushrod engine over the new stuff. they need to bring a small displacement version of a modernized cleveland back. i guess until then the rectangular port Ls engines will suffice as newschool clevelands or what the new cleveland would be. they even accept sbf front mount distributers. somebody been
