@mormonchick1011 that's not what I meant, I was being sarcastic. I've been to many church dances and there was a lot of dancing and stuff, especially with the Polynesians.
Your religion is a scam, and native americans are not descendants of jews, you don't translate by using seer stones and looking into a hat, and hebrews would use hebrew to write & not 'reformed egyptian' Joseph smith admitted to recieving revelations from the devil when he sent 2 men to Canada to sell the copyright 4 the book of mormon and they didn't. He was wrong about 60 of his 65 'prophecies', he married 11 other mens wives, 2-14 year olds and hid his polygamy. He was an evil conman & perv
I once heard that the Mormon head honcho (whatever he's called) had a "revelation" that it was OK for Mormons to drink either Pepsi or Coke when it was discovered that the church had stock holdings in one or the other of those companies.
Similar to the "revelation" that blacks weren't so bad when BYU's basketball program was threatened. Or the "revelation" that polygamy was to be suspended due to an impending attack by the US government. The Mormon god is very malleable isn't he?
@moparmonster1965 Civil War D&C 87/Salt Lake City D&C 49:25.. The man even predicted his own death in a journal entry Saturday, 6/22/1844. look it up yourself. The original Nephites and Lamanites came to the Americas from Jerusalem around 600 bc. Read the introduction to the BoM printed on every English version. Now before you get into the DNA bullshit you have to realize that the words Lamanite and Nephite were used more often to describe the acceptance of spiritual beliefs, not a race of ppl.
If "Zion shall flourish upon the hills and rejoice upon the mountains, and shall be assembled together unto the place which I have appointed." is the best evidence you have, you're empty-handed and we both know it. Wasn't Independence called Zion? And Nauvoo, too?
And yet the city of Zion wasn't built in Nauvoo, was it? Nor was it in Independence, was it? D&C says that the Saints will settle in the "Rocky Mountains," when, in reality, Salt Lake City backs to the Wasatch Mountains, doesn't it?
@moparmonster1965 Independence is Adam-Ondi-Ahman, where the second coming will happen. The Saints didn't succeed in building there because they weren't listening to the Lord. They basically barged in and took whatever land they found, whether it already belonged to someone or not. Thus, they were doomed to fail. Obedience is the key.
Incorrect; you need to reread D&C116:1 because Spring Hill, not Independence, was supposedly Eden. This also contradicts the POGP, which states that Adam lived in the Middle East, as shown by the fact that it clearly mentions Ethiopia, Assyria, and the Euphrates River, none of which are located in North America. (Moses 3:10, 13, 15, which was stolen from Genesis 2:8, 10, 14)
Are you beginning to understand what's going on here yet?
The Biblical Adam and Eve, yes, but the Mormon adam and eve were required to fall so that the Mormon jesus would have a purpose.
The problem here is that since Mormonism has redefined the nature of mankind as essentially good, it forces a redefinition of the savior's role as well, making Mormon theology a muddy mess that even they don't really understand.
Therefore, since we can show that you don't use the version that was corrected by Joseph Smith, you really don't have any idea what parts of the Bible are correct, do you?
When we put all of those things together with the fact that 1 Nephi 13:24-42 tells us that the Bible is missing many 'plain and precious things' seven times, it rather makes you wonder why the church doesn't use the Joseph Smith Translation, doesn't it? What you have are the notes from the 'retranslation,' not the full edition itself because the Community of Christ (formerly the RLDS) owns it.
Not only that, but I recently found this little nugget: "...Joseph spent about three years going through the Bible, making thousands of corrections to the text and restoring information that had been lost." (Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith, 2007 edition, p 208) If you bother to read your own scriptures, you'll find that the Mormon god told Smith to retranslate the Bible in D&C 73:3-4 and he claims to have done exactly that in HOTC 1:324 and 1:368-69, doesn't he?
Since that's been proven, let's have a look at what God said through his prophet, Ezra Taft Benson, shall we?
"Unlike the Bible, which passed through generations of copyists, translators, and corrupt religionists who tampered with the text, the BOM came from writer to reader in just one inspired step of translation. (Ensign, Jan 1992, p 5)
Really? Let's establish a few things, shall we? The Mormon prophet speaks for God, according to D&C 21:4-5, doesn't he? And according to Gospel Principles: "The Lord will not allow the President of the Church to lead us astray. (p. 50, 1992 edition)
@moparmonster1965 im sorry but you are mistaken, zion isnt necessarily a place but more of the way you live. if you live "in zion" its basically that you are living righteously and following all of the lords commandments. he just said that these are chosen places where you could live "in zion" but it is all up to them on how they live.
Smith's 'Civil War Prophecy' wasn't made until after South Carolina's tariff nullification of November 24, 1832, almost exactly a month later. Further, the Mormon newspaper, Evening and Morning Star, published an article on this subject entitled 'Rebellion in South Carolina' in January of 1833.
Take into account also that the D&C 87 wasn't even published until after the Civil War, first seeing print in 1876, and then not canonized until 1880.
Regarding the Civil War prophecy, the text is clear: the Civil War is going to lead directly to a "full end of all nations," which has yet to come to pass. There's no mention of any conflict that followed either; the crux of the prophecy is the Civil War itself, but since no subsequent war has anything to do with the War Between the States, the prophecy is false.
I'll have to find Smith's 'prediction' of his murder when I get home, but if you accept that as fact, you now open the door to the problems of his different accounts of the Furst Vision which we find in his journals and diaries, including the one where he saw two unnamed personages and a pillar of fire, the one where he saw the Lord and a pillar of light, and my personal favorite, the 'Jewish minister' named Joshua.
But I'll bet you hadn't heard of any of those, did you?
That's ironic, you calling me a liar when I just posted two of the places that shows the god of the BOM to be a spirit. There are more, too. I can post those if you like.
@moparmonster1965 You are taking their words out of context and twisting them, as usual, to meet your devious, anti mormon rhetoric needs. How about you open a can of STFU? You are an ironic oxymoron.
Can you explain to me why Smith never got one single prophecy or revelation correct? I'll abdicate if you can. We can discuss the Civil War prophecy, the Independence and Far West temples, the Nauvoo House, John Boynton, Lyman Johnson, and William Smith, too. Your choice.
@moparmonster1965 okay i lied, my bad. you didn't get the 1 Nephi reference correct either. chapter 14 verse 30 of the BoM says absolutely nothing about the lamb of god either. wooww mopar. you did an excellent job checking your references and making yourself look like a jackass.
@moparmonster1965 i could eat a bowl of fucking alphabet soup and shit a better argument than that.. let me enlighten you, remember you started this.. the BOM was written basically at the same time period as the old testament and coveres similar prophecies but it definitely does add new material. BOM was written in the western continents by nephites (native americans/indians) while the bible was written in the eastern continents. you have obviously never read the BOM therefore you got nothin.
Is that right? Can you tell me why, when we know exactly where two important BOM sites are located, Hill Cumorah, and Zarahemla, that we still have exactly no evidence for the fictional Nephites and Lamanites?
Yes, I suppose you're right; the Bible never claims that black people can become white.
@moparmonster1965 wow mopar i just lost all respect for you. you very obviously have zero knowledge of anything you're talking about... first off it doesn't say a sigle fucking thing about the lamb of god on page 32. smith isn't the one who fucked up, you are. you did at least get the 1 nephi reference correct though, which happens to be page 30 or 31..
kiss my ass mopar i'm not gonna sit here and act like a saint just because i'm christian. no one's perfect. and i'm certainly not gonna get into a religious debate on gaytube. btw the mormon gospel is, for the most part, the same as any other christian "gospel" with the addition of the BOM.
I keep asking for examples and yet nobody can give me even one. I also think you're projecting here; you show me a good Mormon and I'll show you someone who doesn't know his own history.
I like Shawn, but I don't let anyone else's opinions shape my own. I've watched a few of his videos and haven't found any of his conclusions about Mormonism to be in error.
I just find it interesting that when Mormon apologists have no more ammunition left, they resort to insults and name-calling. I refuse to stoop to that level.
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that
the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1830, p.32)
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1 Nephi 14:30)
How could Joseph Smith have made such a huge mistake in restoring the gospel to earth? Or was it God's fault? If so, how is that he apparently doesn't know his own nature?
No, those actually aren't the same, are they? In fact, while the BOM has nothing to do with Mormonism, it's just a pale reflection of the Bible because it introduces nothing new. The truly warped parts of Mormonism didn't come until the late 1830s when Smith's opinion about God began to evolve, which is the reason that we find this major doctrinal change:
Exit behavior, nice. Gotta get the last word in, eh? But let me lay the facts on you before you leave: the Mormon gospel is that of exaltation, not salvation, to become a god, not to be saved from sinful man's nature.
I agree with you that they will be the nicest people you will ever meet. But I would have to highly disagree with you that the BoM is the real true book. Please humor me though. Do you have proof that it is the real true book. Can you show me scientific evidence that proves that the events in the BofM really happened???
Yeaaaahhh, I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon and all, buuuuuuuuut it's never made me break out in seizure-like dancing while in public before. Should I be worried? xP
then can you explain to me why the words "and it came to pass" is mentioned throught the Bible over a thousand times????? and what does "And it came to pass" really mean to you???
@TheRoseville5 I don't know why "and it came to pass" is mentioned so many times, but it means "and _______ (fill in the blank) happened". My husband made dinner and it came to pass that I ate it. Make sence?
@TheRoseville5 The two books were written by two seprate civilizations. Just like how some people say "like" all the time and others don't. As LDS4Life71 said "And it came to pass" has been found on many Mayan ruins.
I'm saying that it was a common phrase among the people of Central America ONLY!
And it came to pass is a common hieroglyphic in Mayan. My parents bought me a bookmark with the hieroglyphic on it and it reads "and it came to pass" from Belize on their little excursion down there.
I got stuck reading in Genesis so I got the gist of why Mr Smith decided to right his book in such a way. uggh
so check it, I wasrandomly reading and came across Titus 3:5
and He saved us. It wasn't because of the good things we had done. It was because of his mercy. He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us new life."
so, what are your thoughts no matter your view if your athiest, LDS, or Agnostic..thoughts???
@TheRoseville5 A lot of people think that the LDS Church teaches and believes that we reach salvation thru our good works, but that's a false conception. There are many scriptures in the Bible that state that "without good works our faith is nothing". So we believe that we show our faith, both to God and our fellow man, by doing good works. Also there are a few verses in the Book of Revelations that state that we will be judged according to our works.
12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
There were plenty of women to go with the men... HOWEVER, there are stories that they got rid of the extra men (don't know how? I'll let you figure that out) who were not wanted so they could have those women...
For instance, the Mormons still smoked and used tobacco until the Word of Wisdom was given to them, so it was probably the same with the polygamy rule, people began to just stop when they found out God wanted them to stop.
I'd just like to point out to moparmonster1965 that the church hasn't technically not allowed polygamy, its more like you are only allowed one mortal wife at a time. If your current wife dies, you are still married to her, but you can marry again. I'd also like to point out that Joseph Smith was accused as a polygamist, not nessescarily proven as one. Also, the there are a lot of things mormons did that we eventually got rid of over time.
God...the mormon part of youtube. Hey Mormons, why don't you run back to your temple and go buttfuck your dozens of celestial women. I don't see any reason for any of you to be using the internet. - Joseph Smith was a white supremacist & probably a narcissistic.
- Leaders want you to selectively brush away & forget experiences that create doubts.
- They encourage you to have a hidden agenda.
- Esoteric groups within the church know it's not true, & carry high leadership positions.
I could say a lot more, but I doubt anyone even cares :/

Satan is only a fallen Angel, though an arch angel, and Jesus is God Elohim. Never a brother of Satan! Angels are created by Jesus and Jesus is NOT.

And Nauvoo, too?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 Zion is wherever the Lord's people gather.
evilmangoeater 1 year ago
And yet the city of Zion wasn't built in Nauvoo, was it? Nor was it in Independence, was it? D&C says that the Saints will settle in the "Rocky Mountains," when, in reality, Salt Lake City backs to the Wasatch Mountains, doesn't it?
Another failure for Joseph Smith, I'm afraid.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 Independence is Adam-Ondi-Ahman, where the second coming will happen. The Saints didn't succeed in building there because they weren't listening to the Lord. They basically barged in and took whatever land they found, whether it already belonged to someone or not. Thus, they were doomed to fail. Obedience is the key.
evilmangoeater 1 year ago
Incorrect; you need to reread D&C116:1 because Spring Hill, not Independence, was supposedly Eden. This also contradicts the POGP, which states that Adam lived in the Middle East, as shown by the fact that it clearly mentions Ethiopia, Assyria, and the Euphrates River, none of which are located in North America. (Moses 3:10, 13, 15, which was stolen from Genesis 2:8, 10, 14)
Are you beginning to understand what's going on here yet?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
Adam and Eve got kicked out from eating the fruit, remember.
masterskyrunner 1 year ago
The Biblical Adam and Eve, yes, but the Mormon adam and eve were required to fall so that the Mormon jesus would have a purpose.
The problem here is that since Mormonism has redefined the nature of mankind as essentially good, it forces a redefinition of the savior's role as well, making Mormon theology a muddy mess that even they don't really understand.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965
um ok....you are ridiculous! There is no "mormon" adam and eve ok? we believe in the bible to. check your facts next time
peacefulpaige 1 year ago
Therefore, since we can show that you don't use the version that was corrected by Joseph Smith, you really don't have any idea what parts of the Bible are correct, do you?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
When we put all of those things together with the fact that 1 Nephi 13:24-42 tells us that the Bible is missing many 'plain and precious things' seven times, it rather makes you wonder why the church doesn't use the Joseph Smith Translation, doesn't it? What you have are the notes from the 'retranslation,' not the full edition itself because the Community of Christ (formerly the RLDS) owns it.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
Not only that, but I recently found this little nugget: "...Joseph spent about three years going through the Bible, making thousands of corrections to the text and restoring information that had been lost." (Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith, 2007 edition, p 208) If you bother to read your own scriptures, you'll find that the Mormon god told Smith to retranslate the Bible in D&C 73:3-4 and he claims to have done exactly that in HOTC 1:324 and 1:368-69, doesn't he?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
Since that's been proven, let's have a look at what God said through his prophet, Ezra Taft Benson, shall we?
"Unlike the Bible, which passed through generations of copyists, translators, and corrupt religionists who tampered with the text, the BOM came from writer to reader in just one inspired step of translation. (Ensign, Jan 1992, p 5)
moparmonster1965 1 year ago

Take into account also that the D&C 87 wasn't even published until after the Civil War, first seeing print in 1876, and then not canonized until 1880.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
Regarding the Civil War prophecy, the text is clear: the Civil War is going to lead directly to a "full end of all nations," which has yet to come to pass. There's no mention of any conflict that followed either; the crux of the prophecy is the Civil War itself, but since no subsequent war has anything to do with the War Between the States, the prophecy is false.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
I'll have to find Smith's 'prediction' of his murder when I get home, but if you accept that as fact, you now open the door to the problems of his different accounts of the Furst Vision which we find in his journals and diaries, including the one where he saw two unnamed personages and a pillar of fire, the one where he saw the Lord and a pillar of light, and my personal favorite, the 'Jewish minister' named Joshua.
But I'll bet you hadn't heard of any of those, did you?

@moparmonster1965 how's that for ammunition, BITCH!

Can you explain to me why Smith never got one single prophecy or revelation correct? I'll abdicate if you can. We can discuss the Civil War prophecy, the Independence and Far West temples, the Nauvoo House, John Boynton, Lyman Johnson, and William Smith, too. Your choice.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 okay i lied, my bad. you didn't get the 1 Nephi reference correct either. chapter 14 verse 30 of the BoM says absolutely nothing about the lamb of god either. wooww mopar. you did an excellent job checking your references and making yourself look like a jackass.
MonzterSquad 1 year ago
Thanks for catching that mistake; it's 1 Nephi 13:40, and it still says exactly what I claimed.
Care to comment now?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
@moparmonster1965 i could eat a bowl of fucking alphabet soup and shit a better argument than that.. let me enlighten you, remember you started this.. the BOM was written basically at the same time period as the old testament and coveres similar prophecies but it definitely does add new material. BOM was written in the western continents by nephites (native americans/indians) while the bible was written in the eastern continents. you have obviously never read the BOM therefore you got nothin.
MonzterSquad 1 year ago
Is that right? Can you tell me why, when we know exactly where two important BOM sites are located, Hill Cumorah, and Zarahemla, that we still have exactly no evidence for the fictional Nephites and Lamanites?
Yes, I suppose you're right; the Bible never claims that black people can become white.
moparmonster1965 1 year ago

And I'm cultproof. Sorry.

If so, how is that he apparently doesn't know his own nature?
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
No, those actually aren't the same, are they? In fact, while the BOM has nothing to do with Mormonism, it's just a pale reflection of the Bible because it introduces nothing new. The truly warped parts of Mormonism didn't come until the late 1830s when Smith's opinion about God began to evolve, which is the reason that we find this major doctrinal change:
moparmonster1965 1 year ago
Exit behavior, nice. Gotta get the last word in, eh? But let me lay the facts on you before you leave: the Mormon gospel is that of exaltation, not salvation, to become a god, not to be saved from sinful man's nature.

then can you explain to me why the words "and it came to pass" is mentioned throught the Bible over a thousand times????? and what does "And it came to pass" really mean to you???
TheRoseville5 1 year ago
@TheRoseville5 I don't know why "and it came to pass" is mentioned so many times, but it means "and _______ (fill in the blank) happened". My husband made dinner and it came to pass that I ate it. Make sence?
mrmn8honeybee 1 year ago
@mrmn8honeybee
yes it makes more sense....do you know why it is mentioned so often in the BoM and not at all even one time in the Holy Bible???
TheRoseville5 1 year ago
@TheRoseville5 The two books were written by two seprate civilizations. Just like how some people say "like" all the time and others don't. As LDS4Life71 said "And it came to pass" has been found on many Mayan ruins.
mrmn8honeybee 1 year ago
@mrmn8honeybee
well if the Holy Bible can do that to someone and the BoM cannot..what is the BoM missing that the HB has got????
TheRoseville5 1 year ago
@TheRoseville5
One of the most common hieroglyphics in Mayan is the one that translates "And it came to pass..."
LDS4Life71 1 year ago
@LDS4Life71
so are you saying that the HB is missing the words "And it came to pass" which the BoM has written in it a million or more times???
TheRoseville5 1 year ago
@TheRoseville5

TheRoseville5 1 year ago
@TheRoseville5 A lot of people think that the LDS Church teaches and believes that we reach salvation thru our good works, but that's a false conception. There are many scriptures in the Bible that state that "without good works our faith is nothing". So we believe that we show our faith, both to God and our fellow man, by doing good works. Also there are a few verses in the Book of Revelations that state that we will be judged according to our works.
mrmn8honeybee 1 year ago
Revelation 20: 12 & 13
12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

For instance, the Mormons still smoked and used tobacco until the Word of Wisdom was given to them, so it was probably the same with the polygamy rule, people began to just stop when they found out God wanted them to stop.
raknargpoo 1 year ago
I'd just like to point out to moparmonster1965 that the church hasn't technically not allowed polygamy, its more like you are only allowed one mortal wife at a time. If your current wife dies, you are still married to her, but you can marry again. I'd also like to point out that Joseph Smith was accused as a polygamist, not nessescarily proven as one. Also, the there are a lot of things mormons did that we eventually got rid of over time.
raknargpoo 1 year ago
