This is one of my favorite songs from my favorite year in music 1991; The mood is mellow and bright throughout. The interplay of bass and keyboard is so keen particularly right at the start, but in retrospect, some of the production techniques sound a bit heavy handed and dated. I would love to hear a tasteful remake of this for an over-30 audience. As it stands it's still a bit of a guilty pleasure that I can't bring out and play for friends who are wedded to strictly mainstream production.

I don't think you can link Candy Flip with Charlatans & Stone Rose, apart from they were all from the early 90s.

Candy Flip were a dance/rave/pop band, the Madchester bands you mentioned were indie rock with a tiny element of dance.

I'd compare CFs style of music with The Beloved & Pet Shop Boys.

But yeah, I love Candy Flip, especially their b sides
