At least one of these can be useful but some of the edge hog techniques are useful in accordance with FD. FD has a really unique edge (which works well for MK) but not all edges work like that.

Also, can't you just drill into the ledge itself, and hog it on the way out, effectively knocking anyone else off the ledge with good timing since drill lasts pretty long?

Yes but when they come to stop your drill rush stall you simply Shuttle Loop them

a problem is an attentive opponent will see the drill rush stall and have plenty of time to steal that ledge from you. i would recommend to never use it more than once in a row. mindgames. . .

Mindgames are the only way to win. Try winning with skill alone.

And Dashing D Hog actually hogs faster. Time it if you want.

The good thing about the drill rush techs here is that you are attacking the full way through, making it offensive not just by hogging, but by physically attacking as well.

Dashing dimensional edge hog is pointless. I can dash and edgehog in just as much time noticeably. I never understood why people do that. It seems metaknight "tech's" are more for show and mindgames than for actual technique and pushing the character further.
