I guessed she was mainy with paramount, how good am I :0) I LOVE these shows, I'm from Denmark and they were never shown here, but boy, do I get pleasure from watching all these mystery guests on WML. As a matter of fact, I can't stop watching them. Such wit and humour, both from the panelists and the guests. Cool.
Very enjoyable clip & thank you for sharing. I was checking Dorothy's profile in Wikipedia and was surprised to read J. Edgar Hoover had a bad case of the hots for her.
Unsurprisingly, Dorothy was extremely popular in Hollywood. She was down to earth, not given to putting on airs, was a fine comedienne and excellent singer. She was not a standard-issue beauty, but certainly glowed from inside. She was a happy wife and good mother. She grew older gracefully (in fact, I think, looked her best in some ways in her later years). She was very well paid! Bing Crosby and Bob Hope considered her perfect because she could improvise in film scenes.
NorbertR22, thank you so much for posting all of these old clips. I just LOVE THEM!! Simply, love them! Please keep posting all that you have of What's My Line.

Louis B. Meyer The studio chief is the one that found her, and gave her the break that led her to stardom.

I would have guessed her at 1:08 when she goes "Mmmyes" - it sounds just like her singing voice! She looks beeyootiful and seems such a good sport!
