  • do japanese kids buy that

  • @kisslibra97 Buy which?

  • @kansaiPJ

    that

  • Aww, KansaiPJno koibitowa daredesuka? (Sorry if I'm saying that incorrectly).

  • @dezzysa My koibito? You mean the guy I was dating two years ago when this was filmed? Or now? Hehehe. Anyway, I am not going to say. My boys like their privacy...

  • :0 beer i never even knew existed...;3 nice.

  • good video .pj

  • As for the Japanese, buying the cigarette in the vending machine of the cigarette to need the identification card has decreased.

It is from menndoukusai when saying in Japanese. Menndoukusai is a thing of burdensome .

When menndoukusai is restated in a modern word, it is uzai.

It becomes impossible for the child to buy the cigarette in the vending machine because ID is necessary.

  • The child in Japan doesn't hope to buy the beer in the vending machine.

When the beer is bought in the vending machine, it is high.

It is only an affluent Japanese child that buys the beer in the vending machine. However, an affluent child doesn't buy it either.

  • @19450808 I agree that teens rarely buy beer in vending machines. They can easily get it from most convenience stores...

  • Marlboro in Indonesia cost about $1.7-$2

  • PJ do the students there tend to have over drinking habits? I have heard that the adults there tend to over drink.

  • In my experience, I'd say students are less likely to binge drink than North American students. Maybe cause the taboo feeling is much less. In terms of the adults, I'd agree that they drink a lot more here than in the West, on average.

  • Hi. Kirin its my favourite Japanese beer. I miss Osaka, cant wait to go there again (^_^)

  • What is the legal drinking age in Japan?

  • Literal or practical? The legal age is 20, but in practice anyone over 15 can buy and consume...

  • Can't answer about the taspo. Never asked. Besides, everyone is different.

Convenience stores rarely card anyone unless they are really young looking. I doubt you would be carded in a convenience store...

  • Then you are probably gonna have a problem.

  • wow some of ur students smoke?!?! ehh everyones different so if they want to smoke then its their choice but underage smoking is bad and great video kansaiPJ ur vlogs are awesome!!!!!!!

  • good video PJ..vending machines i think are very convenient, another thing that makes Japan so distinctively different from other countries..as Kevin Cooney says, if you go to a bar you have to actually SAY what you want, not just pay for it like a machine lol..im gonna try the alcohol ones out sometime, i dont smoke :)

  • Thanks for watching.

  • wait a minute at 2:34 is that water called BOSS

    like the purfume brand?

    loks like it

  • Boss is a brand of coffee. No relation to the western brand I believe...

    Thanks for watching!

  • WOW....they have alcohol in vending machines in Japan?!?!?!?!.....that is weird......really weird.....aren't they afraid that underage teens will break into the machine and jack the alcohol?.....by the way...I love your blogs....tell your students that I said hi!....that Sho is really cute....lol.....bye

  • Underage drinking in Japan, though illegal, is not really a big taboo here. So the temptation to break in to the machine is practically nonexistent. If they want, they can just buy it, from a machine or even a store. Very few teenagers are ever 'carded' in Japan. Consequently, it's not a very big temptation.

  • Great video PJ, thanks.

  • :-)

  • vending machines are so much fun!

  • Those cigarettes are indeed not the cheapest one. In easter Europe pack of Marlboro costs around 1 usd per pack. And there is still "cigarettes" for 20c or 50c (sic!)

  • Eastern Europe? Wow. Did not know that...

    Thanks.

  • I love the tea's & the juice boxes. Is there food vending machines? This video was quite interesting. You should do a restaurant traveling video XD. Take cares

    -Nate

  • There are food vending machines, but only in certain locales where people can sit and snack, because it is considered rude to eat and walk (though people in big cities do it all the time).

Thanks Nate. A restaurant vid is coming soon!

  • oh pj this video is so AWESOME!!!

    thanks so much for posting!

eee, i luv it so much!!!

  • beeeeeer lol

The meaning of beer vending machines, it means you can pretty much drink anywhere around in the streets?

Here is illegal to drink outside an establishment or ur home

  • In Japan, it is legal to drink in public (as long as one is not intoxicated). It is not uncommon to see salarymen having a beer on the commute home.

That said, years and years ago, it was generally considered rude to eat or drink while walking (though in the big cities, younger people don't seem to think so).

  • PJ - do you smoke?

  • Yes, but not very often and never at school or at home. I go through a pack in 4~8 weeks...

  • So cool! They've got vending machines for beer, tobaco, electronics...how 'bout books?

  • I've seen machines for manga (comic books), but not one for books. There probably is somewhere though...

  • I'll take some of the chu-hi please!

  • Good report! Good video!

  • awesome videoooo!

  • Thanks for posting. The diversity never seizes to amaze. Japan still seems to be the king of vending machines!

  • Groovy...that's a lot of vending machines. Very indepth investigation!

  • Thanks Kev. It was a little too long. Gotta work on keeping them under 5 min... but I with all this free time, I find my vids getting longer not shorter... haha!

  • I understand! Look how many vids I popped out during my week vacation :) hehe

  • Thanks for uploading great vids ma~n!

I was really surprised at Japanese Vending machines.

It were developed so much and have so much kinds of drinks now.

And I also believe that Japan is really safe country in the world: nobody hurts Vending machines mostly even though which are in outside.

Also, "taspo"is good system for Japanese I think.

    Thanks buddy!

    Have a good one!!

  • Thanks for watching oborogin! From my perspective, TASPO does not seem to be working, but I support the attempt... Now, if they would only raise the prices for tobacco, now that would really impair teenage smoking I think.

  • :D I loved it. You should show more around your town?

  • Hey kansai, what about the vending machines that sell those panties that you use for like 1 night? The disposable ones? And like underwear there haha.

  • Hey Michael. Have not seen panty machines in years. Maybe they still exist, but nowhere I've been lately. I'll keep my eyes open though...

    ;-)

  • lol. I read an article the other day that says you can get Sony PSPs and Nintendo DS in vending machines in Japan now. You should take a picture of those for me...if you can find one ^^

  • If I ever see a machine that sells PSPs and DSs, I will definitely take a picture. Promise!

  • Thanks, long necks from a vending machine = win! Do these things tend to get vandalized often? I don't think they would last that long around here before some kids or drunks would try break in to them in the early hours.

  • Vending machines are rarely if ever vandalized. Crime is largely culturally context-dependent, and vandalization of vending machines is not something I would expect to see here frequently.

  • lol nice vid

  • I miss Japan much 8(...

    ..and their awesome vending machines...

one day I shall return then we can hit up all the beer vending machines in Nippon! :)
