  • God I love this game so much

  • if ya want to max all stats, morph stuff in the crashed gelinka, its a little bit later in the game but its good for maxing everyone out. maxed CLoud out all the way and just laughed fighting ruby lol, his shadow flare doin 300 dmg and what not. neways, good spot early on. respect.

  • Strength is faster to max out via "heavy tank" in Gongaga. Vitality is faster to max out via "spiral" around the Mideel area outside the forest. Both of these can be maxed on disk 1. The sunken plane is best for dexterity and luck. Magic and spirit are very slow to raise but the sunken plane is the only place to max those out.

  • @krazybob123 oh alright thanks didn't know that, couldn't imagine why someone would want to max their stats out that early, isnt this game easy enough already? 0_o

  • FF7 was the first RPG I really got into and it started my interest in RPGs. At the time, I was used to there being maybe around 20 to 30 levels in a game. I found the fifth leveling ground area to be extremely fast and I was already into the 50's. I wondered how many levels there were in the game (thinking of things like platform levels or Spyro 2 levels), and I kept going until I hit level 99 where it stopped. Because of this, I've, since, been involved in reaching very high levels early.

  • This is dumb, just use yuffies conformer with mega all materia and she will kill them all in one hit saves tons of time

  • lol

i was so addict when i was kid lol ill post back my money i had but i had like 90 mil i think

  • I am imperessed, I have done all of that. But one thing I havent done is get all that money! :O, my highest is 14 mill. lol, well done though pal.

  • Having that kind of gil is easier than you think - just master some "all" materia then sell the mastered ones for 1.4 million gil. By having nothing but "all" materia on Cid's Javelin (5 double growth slots), every AP you get, in a sense, is like getting 400 extra gil. Defeat a headhunter (worth 80 AP) and it's like having 32,000 gil. Now, flood your materia slots with alls and that same headhunter can be worth 100,000 gil....

  • I believe in the game there are weapons that you can get that have 4 times the Exp gained from every kill.

  • where you get trine? o.o

  • I got it from the materia Keeper, immediately before my fifth leveling ground.

  • let me ask u something.. why ur not using conformer weapon on yuffie? it hits normal damage with morph materia (8000+), and equip her with as many "sneak attack + morphs" as possible(mastered of course) u start battle and start doing morphs hitting 8000+s and thats it

  • Do you get the conformer weapon before doing the Temple of the Ancients event? As far as I know, you don't. Plus, I don't recall how you get it either (and if it has no materia growth, then I won't use it anyway).

  • you get conformer at sunken ship, yes there where u get cid's highwind and there is unkown enemies there which gives sources. it is yuffies ultimate weapon and it doesnt have materia growth. but its only weapon in game when u hit normal physical hit with morph materia.

  • I probably, and almost certainly have it, but because it has no materia growth, I never used it at all.

  • Well to be fair, it is a usefull weapon for morph. Just so ur not wasting materia slots just make sure u put ur mastered materia on the weapon.

  • I would use demi3. I'd also put the conformer on yuffie and give her the mega-all and morph materias. Pretty good vid though. That's a hell of a lot of gil.

  • Forgot to mention that you'd need mp absorb and an all to counter the mp loss. Just read your description.

  • I found mug-MP absorb more effective at this point, but the only MP used in my case comes from casting cure spells.

  • If you thought that that was a lot of gil, check out my 176 speed chocobo one where I have a truly phenomenal amount. When this video was recorded, I was still on disk 1 so I didn't have access to mega-all (that's disk 3). I maxed the strength earlier so morph regularly does around 1000 damage (2000 if a critical), a good chunk of what spiral has (around 2800).

  • Still it wolud be easier to wait for the conformer and mega-all materia. I did it like that and it took me almost two entire days to master only Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Luck; completely gave up on the other two stats. Quadra-cut does more damage than any spell anyway.

  • Spells are extremely weak in this game. Even with maxed magic (and my usual max strength), spells barely do anything in the way of damage and MP is just so limiting that it's not worth it. Magic is maxed via "magic plus" materia, the only worthy way I can. The others are tough and very slow to do.

  • The Crashed Gelnika is an efficient way to max them all at the same time. Magic and Spirit do take a while, but its still the fastest way. I think there's a video or two discussing this with materia combination which make it slightly faster. Yuffie is still the miracle worker, though.

  • ulillillia YOU A PROFESSIONAL!

  • There are still a few things here and there that I'm not aware of in this game so I'm not a pro at it, although I've played it through 4 times over.

  • I agree........... 5 months later

  • Looking at this, I suppose Final Fantasy 8 would be a bit too easy, seeing as how one could so easily manipulate the stats to their favor.

  • In terms of battles, every FF game, except FF1 and FF Tactics, has been practically unchallenging. However, it's much more challenging when it comes to knowing what you're supposed to do next and solving puzzles. For battles, enemies that cause confusion are the most challenging. I'm otherwise not a magic-user - I prefer using the "attack" command 10 to 1. For restoring HP, fast leveling, or to quickly weaken enemies for certain actions (like morph or eat), that's usually when I use spells.

  • Looks like you can take on anything in that game without breaking a sweat now.

  • Hey Ulillillia, I know this is off topic, but what did you end up getting to replace your old gamebridge after it broke? I'm using one now, and I'm wondering if you could comment on if the replacement was a significant improvement. Thanks!

  • You mean the "TV2000 XP Expert" TV tuner I got? It has its up sides (it works with the Sega Genesis (Haven't you noticed my Bubsy videos?)), but it also has different down sides (high CPU usage (its software-based rather than hardware, but that's required in order to get rid of the lag; it's expected), no support for mid-range resolution support (480x320 instead of 720x480 or 320x240), and it's much more difficult to record from my microphone and keeping the game's sound track.

  • Your video is very good. Brings bvack some good memories. I have played this game 7 times through. My best strategy for killing Emerald and Ruby Weapon. Either Gravity magic or Omnislash!!!!

  • I've got other methods for defeating Emerald and Ruby weapon. I'll almost certainly post videos of it, including defeating Emerald Weapon with more than 2/3 of the clock remaining by doing nothing but HP damage to it (rather than using Cait Sith's slots). I've got videos related to chocobos coming up along with fighting arena battles and the maxing of dexterity and luck following.

  • You can also kill them using no actual magical attacks (or summons). No green magic at all, or master magic. No enemy skill either.

  • I'd watch these if you narrated them. Heck, I'd watch anything you narrate.

(Is heck ok, dude? Know you're sensitive about the language.)

  • "heck" is okay, although I otherwise wouldn't use it. It's words that word censors would almost-always censor out. I've got a lingering problem with narration at the moment and until it is resolved, either the old, boring, highly unmotivating method would be used, or no narration would be used at all.

  • I don't understand where the fun is in this, there's no challenge whatsoever...

  • The challenge is in problem-solving, which our friend here excels at(perhaps to the point of it being unhealthy).

  • I mean, how far are you in the story

  • where is this in the story?

  • It's, like the that for the one of maxing the strength, immediately after finishing the "Temple of the Ancients" event (which is also where you get the "morph" materia from. I'm supposed to be going to "Bone Village". Immediately after maxing the strength, I headed here without any further story progress. Speed and luck are the next two, but that's during the end of disk 2, a long ways away. I don't have a dependable way (ultra slow and risky) for magic and spirit though.

  • He's probably already beaten this game before, but from his previous videos, he does most of this while still in Disc 1.

  • I'd probably do something similar with FF8 or FF10 - get unusually far in character development while still on disk 1. This is actually my fourth play at the game, the first was in 2003. I've beaten Emerald Weapon with more than 2/3 of the clock remaining (I plan on getting a video of something similar, and this is actually doing HP damage, not using Cait Sith's slot machine (I don't like it due to the "game over" combo and the fact things are "forced" on you, so keep to the "dice" one).
