I've been watching this show for years and loved it, but now days when I watch I find I don't like her for being so mean to every one...but especially mean to poor Richard. It's made me watch the show less and less. My sons won't watch it at all and get upset with me when I do.

Lighten up! It's only a comedy, and one of the funny ongoing situations in this one is Hyacinth's behaviour. She's not mean at all, just very 'self absorbed', and obviously, loves Richard very much. Without Hyacinth's somewhat annoying personality, there wouldn't be any point. Yes, she's hard to take, but really - it's so funny. I think it's a brilliant series and still love watching it.

youve got to admit she's hilarious and no matter how horrible she might seem to you she NEVER gets her way in the end. Its kind of like god's revenge lol. She's not that bad because my grandma is a hyacinth so i have to live with this kind of person in my life-its not that bad.
