I have a JVM 410. I never ever use channel 4, way too much gain and amp noise. I go to channel 3 green, which is all the gain you need, great amp.

Hello mate

It was the four channel JVM hear and i can imagine that it was the red mode with a tonne of gain because the YJM dimarzios are very low output.

@benwilshire Thanks Ben, I have the two channel JVM which has the scooped mid OD2 channel from the JVM410. I was wondering if you are using OD1 or OD2 on here. It sounds great by the way.... nice playing. I have a couple of Malmsteen Strats myself. Thanks again!

I would asume that it was the OD2 on this one as it was very gainy. I didnt set it up because then i wasnt familiar with the JVM so the dude at the stand did it. Bit too much gain for me. Theres another guy on here who plays a malmsteen strat through a jvm and no pedals and hes brilliant but i cannot find him. Fair play on the malmsteen strats i would like second one haha.

@benwilshire Thanks Ben, the JVM's have more gain than I would ever need or use. They actually sound much better with the gain set low like around 9 or 10 o'clock on the OD channels. The JVM's Plexi mode along with a YJM strat and a gray 250 spec modded DOD YJM 308 overdrive pedal, does the Yngwie thing really well.

@benwilshire In order to get Yngwie's tone You must use BOTH channels

Turn bass to 0, and treble/middle to max (on both)

Then turn the master volume to 0 as well and the volume for channel 1 and 2 to 2-3

That should give you The Malmsteen tone.

I can replicate it on a Dual channel Laney Linebacker Reverb 50 from the 80's :D
